Its between a Hawk English trainer jet and a Mirage 2000.. have the sound up as the music is awsome and the scenery is just plain wonderful....

I remember when I liked jets more than cars, cars are more reachable arent they?

sentra_dude 05-04-2006 12:28 AM

Whoa, that was fucking sweet. :D 8)

The speed brakes on that Mirage are neat, I wish I could download that vid, or see it larger. Any details about the vid? Is it CG at all, and what'd they make it for? Really amazing scenery...

Pokiou 05-04-2006 12:42 AM

its all real nothing fake about it.. its a british airforce joint effort so yea :D i love it its bloody awsome D:

DeMoN 05-04-2006 12:49 AM

man I am sure there is a high res verision of this. No way the filmed something this awesome on crappy cameras. Why take the effort to do stuff like this and film it with crappy camera?

saadie 05-04-2006 12:58 AM

thats not a hawk lol ..... thats a Alpha Jet >>http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/row/alpha-jet.htm

@ demon ... those videos are usually made with AVTR's .... audio video flight data recorders .. which arnt all that high res ... and since they watch all that stuff on TV's ... they dont see alot of errors :D ....

you only get lateral g's in a car .... and you only take vertical g's in an aircraft .. sooo id rather preffer something like a hellicopter lolor and extra 300s

ah so when a jet makes a barrel roll its vertical G you're feeling? seems to me jet fighters get G in every direction possible...

saadie 05-04-2006 01:35 PM

^^ yeah ... but you dont exceed anything more then 2-3 g's on barrel rolls
it only goes more then 5 when you are in a flat spin .. which isnt any fun cuz flat spins are not controlable in jet's

fireguy 05-04-2006 03:26 PM

that was absolutely amazing...what a rush for those pilots!! thanks .

For me, that McLaren F1 is about as unreachable as an F-15. :D

Great video, dude.

The scene's from the vid are afaik captures from a french movie.

The french title is Les Chevaliers du ciel, and there are some more interesting airfights left. Besides that, the storyline quite sucks. :(

mario_lobinho 05-05-2006 07:18 PM

Yes. Les Chevaliers du ciel, is a french version of Top Gun. It canīt have the hollywood glamour and the great view of a F 14 but it was greeat scenes, and most of it film on air and not o the ground like Top Gun. A nice film for those who enjoy the style :-)
(i like it)
