Ford owns Aston Martin. They outbid a company they own?

Isn't that what we were asking when we found out the new Bond hates guns and can't drive a stick?

I say let them change it. This isn't going to be a real Bond movie anyway

saadie 04-26-2006 12:43 AM

So let's sum up here, new "Bond" will be driving an automatic diesel mondeo holding a stick. Wow, I am all excited already.

Fleischmann 04-26-2006 01:55 AM

I seriously doubt it, Aston Martin has already stated that the new car will be coming from the factory in Gaydon and I doubt Ford would Force them to withdraw from that claim.

stmoritzer 04-26-2006 02:09 AM

I checked a quite reliable site www.mi6.co.uk

nothing there, so I would say spam ...

however OMEGA released the new Bond watch (real )

That all turned out to be absolute bollocks, about him not being able to drive a manual, what do you expect from the British tabloids!

I think it's very rare here anyway, I know nobody who took an auto test, its just accepted that you learn to drive in manual cars we aren't lazy pussys unlike some others :P As for this ford stuff, I can see a ford being in the film, but I highly doubt a non premium Ford brand car will be involed in any major chase scene, unless its a GT or something. Much more likely it will be a Jag or an Aston IMO

bmwmpower 04-26-2006 06:09 AM

why mondeo, Vote Skoda ROOMSTER for bond car :D

McLaren4eVa 04-26-2006 06:51 AM

A shame because i liked his character in Layer Cake but not so keen on him now. That 007 watch looks soooo cool. I want one any prices?

davide 04-26-2006 07:54 AM

I just hope that the Jaguar XK or the DB9 or even perhaps the M6 would be a nice choice, don't you think?

Maybe the M6 is a bit too much... how should I put it... german?

r2r 04-26-2006 10:26 AM

This is most likely a false rumor.

Why would they use a ford when they have new V8 vantage that would be perfect for the new movie.

It's not just that, but I also heard that he was unwilling to learn how to drive stick. :? I'm not going to sit here and criticize the guy about not knowing how to drive a stick when I cannot perform the same task thoroughly(i've only driven stick about three times). But like I said earlier, it's that attitude of not wanting to learn new things that makes him a total "fecker."

ARMAN 04-26-2006 01:32 PM

Damn it! I have to sell them my Lada Samara as a new Bond's car! I am willing to mount automatic gearbox :P They are going to shoot in Prague in summer again so I better prepare my Lada :D

Never liked any of bonds films really I think they are plain stupid except some chases - Tank vs Volga or 355 vs DB5(?) :) And with that dumb ass playing JB now not sure I will ever see it.

Daggernite 04-26-2006 01:54 PM

I'm condemming Craig. I cant help it hes just not a Bond character at all :(

salegosse 04-26-2006 02:02 PM

He will use a sporty version of the DB9, the futur DBS which has a manual gear box, that's why this ass can't drive it.

and where did you hear that? It all turned out to be the usual British tabloid bollocks. The same tabloids said he had all his teeth knocked out, I caught an interview with him recently where he confirmed it was all trash, layer cake was awesome I just hope he can do justice to the series.

Yup but the "news" is from The Daily Star is which the lowest of the low in terms of newspapers, even worse than the sun! The term gutter press was invented for them, mostly gossip about celebrities ;-) often they are susequently sued for libel of course, more of a comic than newspaper I'm afraid. The problem is lazy reporters then copy and paste this round the internet and it becomes FACT.
