Klitschko Got Him Self a Big Car

For anyone who doesnt know Klitschko is an ex heavy weight boxing champ, now retired.

He is 6 foot 7 so he got himself a Ukrainian "vepr", the car weights 3 tonns, max speed is 140km/h, fully armoured, actually comes equiped with electronic counter measures to protect it from guided missles  Its 5m long and 2.5m high. And it only costs 70 000$ (base price I figure, withouht the goodies)

*This actually is a military transport vehicle.

No one likes it? I actually think it looks half decent being a military car.

That ugly eh?..............hmm Ill have to give it another look tomorrow

RC45 03-14-2006 09:52 PM

No clue mate...If it had anything off another car Id figure it would be a daewoo or something like that.

One more detail. It does 12L to 100km, dunno what that is in mpg terms.

12l per 100km? Really? That's 28mpg... seems too good to be true...

4 cylinder diesel or something, and 12l is what it says.

nthfinity 03-14-2006 11:22 PM

Not 12km/litrer maybe? ;)

12 (kilometers per liter) = 28.2257501 miles per gallon

19.6012154 mpg =12 liters per 100km

3.17006461 gallons/62.1371192 miles

sounds like estimated 100 kph expected highway usage...

Some corrections

"вес его около 5 тонн, грузоподъемность 2 тонны, расход топлива — 12 литров на 100 км","

overall weight 5 tons, capable of carying 2 tons, and "usage of fuel" 12litters for 100km"

RC45 03-14-2006 11:39 PM

What size engine?

yeah - my dyslexic self was trying to say 12l per km... hehe now that would be impressive consumption - no? ;)

SFDMALEX 03-14-2006 11:46 PM

Well the primary orders for this car come from the military of defence and rescue "squads", so it has something torquie and runs in siberian winters or texas heat....

trying to find more info.

Update- well the rest of the sources say "weight 3.5 tons" and 12 litters of diesel fuel per 100km. So its a diesel thats for sure. And in another place I read that its a 4 cylinder.....now a diesel that has a top speed of 140 and has to pull 3.5 tons has to have some power.

- can be used as an armoured troops transport.

Garretts_turbo 03-15-2006 01:34 AM

hahahaha wow that thing is huge when its out in public...the first set of pics is deceiving.....

blinkmeat 03-15-2006 01:52 AM

Badass - a little over the top though :?

LotusGT1 03-15-2006 04:57 AM

Looks like a cross between a SSangYong and a PT Cruiser. Hideous.

dutchmasterflex 03-15-2006 10:54 AM

I need to start driving around with two giant flags on my car like that..

Definitely looks interesting, but far from beautiful.. I like the functionality of the truck though.. looks like its got a nice chassis for rock crawling

I suppose it would be decent looking if you remove the grill thing on the front and smooth out the front of the car. And uhh... wtf are the odds of someone using a GUIDED MISSLE against you?

Well its a military car first  So the odds are there.
It's also protects its occupants from nuclear radiation ;)

do you know anything about radiation?

all radiation is 'nuclear'... of course, there are alfa particles, beta particles, and gamma radiation.... i dont think you could see out of it, or drive it on a human road if it protected for Gamma... beta would be difficult... and impractical... and alfa just means it is basically air-tight, with a good filter... not military insane-ness...

SFDMALEX 03-16-2006 10:58 PM

...

SFDMALEX 03-17-2006 12:05 PM

blah nthfinity I was hammered last night, so forget about that post above.....just passing info, says its radiation protected, to what extent I dunno :|

martin100 03-17-2006 05:00 PM

So Klitschko doesn´t know anything about cars... :x

saadie 03-18-2006 08:58 AM

No, he is just supporting his country and trying to push through the native vehicle by driving one himself. He is a politician now afterall.

martin100 03-18-2006 11:12 AM

He´s a politician now? Didn´t know that. I don´t think they´ll sell more of these "cars" only because Klitschko drives one...

Yes he is. Running for mayor of Kyiv actually.

Well they might not sell any more but at least he is driving his countries car, you know.

Kinda like Germans politicians drive VWs, and the Italians fiats I guess

Plus he has a problem of not fitting in most cars so he needed something big to be comfy in.

ferrarif1fan89 03-19-2006 03:03 AM

im surprised the governator doesnt drive on...... hydrogen powered, of course.

but good god, that thing is hideous. they stole the portholes off a lucerne and the headlights off a pug, and everything else they made in their backyard. disgusting. utterly hideous. i think its predecessor looks better, only because it doesnt have that fake-o-machoness to it. :puke:

DTM8 03-31-2006 03:18 PM

Hmm..

3.5 Tons on a fully armored vehicle that seems to be dwarfing the Lexus/Toyota Suv (not sure exactly) does not seem realistic.

Are these measurements accurate?

Lets see if this creates a trend for every ookrayanskii politician to drive that :)

Well saying "ookraina" is offence

Mattk 04-01-2006 07:22 AM

Apart from the fact that it looks like it was soldered together in a scrapyard, and then smoothed over and given a lick of paint, it actually looks pretty cool. I wouldn't mind driving one of these things, lording over the traffic, freaking out the housewives in their fat 'soft-roaders'.
