RC, you're crazy (a cup with water in it to show the shaking is just damn funny), but yep that's a nice healthy lope right there. I miss having a car that does that. My bike has a nice lope though (cams in the old R1 too :D ). I need to get a video of that.

gangajas 02-19-2006 08:06 AM

It vibrates like a diesel truck

Jabba 02-19-2006 08:53 AM

Impressive IMO...would have been nice to see what happened when you blipped it though LOL

AlienDB7 02-19-2006 09:18 AM

Are you trying to make fun of the old Lexus commercial?

Remember seeing an ad 10+ yrs ago with them putting a cup of water on hood and nothing happened.

In Rolls Royce engines they do the same with a coin

TT 02-19-2006 09:31 AM

HAHA funny for sure, but I was expecting some flooring to make the glass of water explode or something :D

Yeah, BMW did that with the M70 V12. They set a Deusche Mark on it's side on the intake to show how smoothly it ran.

Yeah - the "car alarm" video is another work in progress ;)

We set off our first open air car-alarms at a Wal-Mart parking lot the other day

Setting off alarms in parking garages almost seems unfair these days ;)

Lol... Im sorta ashamed to admit it but one night I had an exhaust off with my fathers truck. (ya know the semi with the diesel v10). It was pretty close till he hit the jakebreak(sp?)... At that point I just shut the car off and walked away... lol

No worries about anything melting - the whole car is plastic remember ;)

Besides - the real advantage of this setup is that you can make Martinis on the boot-lid - shaken, not stirred... :P

Almost forgot it's plastic ;)

A bit off topic, but is it really true that cops' radar and laser don't work on a black plastic car? Heard about that myth for a while, dont really know it's true or not

Now, it would be hilarious if Bond decides to hop in a 'vette!

graywolf624 02-19-2006 09:39 PM

I don't know about radar but it sure doesn't hide a certain persons propensity to leave off his front license plate and get pulled over. ;)

Then again, you sure it wasn't some "James Bond" move that allowed the certain person to talk themselves out of handcuffs and the backseat of a patrol car and back into the drivers seat? ;)

nthfinity 02-19-2006 11:06 PM

no such thing as front mounted licence plates in Michigan :-D

about radar... that is a myth... years of working in radio astronomy... some things reflect radar back 'less' but ultimately, the angles are what is most important... some frequencies could pass through the plastic...but that has a 2-way meaning... it will hit the engine/chassis etc. and bounce back.

LOL, the parking lot clips are hillarious, i set ones of in multi storey car parks with mine, but i need to give it some stick, where as yours seems to set them off at idle!

You know you could change your engine mounts to some poly-urethane ones, then youd emtpy that cup in seconds! and have devised a cheap and easy constipation cure
