Lambo Cellebration - gone - 20/05/06

nearly on my b'day (just 3 days before) about 150 lamborghinis is coming to see me to Brighton UK   YUPIEEEEEEE I can't describe my happiness at the moment!!!!

http://www.lamborghinisupercarcelebration.com/

This celebration will take place during the weekend of 20/21 May 2006, when we will be assembling one of the largest gatherings of Lamborghinis ever seen in the UK. Not only does this celebration coincide with the 40th anniversary of the delivery of the first Miura (the ultimate SuperCar), but will also allow us the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of Ferruccio Lamborghini (the founder of Lamborghini). And, if that is not enough, we will celebrate the great dedication and contribution to all things Lamborghini by Valentino Balboni, who has been an integral part of Lamborghini for the last 40 years.

Up to 150 Lamborghinis from all over the world and other selected SuperCars will assemble at the Brooklands Motor Museum, the birthplace of British Motor sport and Aviation and begin their journey through some of England’s most beautiful countryside to the bustling cosmopolitan city of Brighton.

It is too early to confirm, but we have strong hopes that the BBC 'Top Gear' team will also attend.

SATURDAY 20th May 2006
Morning
09.15 Assemble, Registration and Start at Brooklands
10.00 Leave Brooklands for Brighton
11.15 Arrive in Brighton
11.50 Arrive at Madeira Drive (Place, where all the cars will be displayed)
12.20 Introduction of Drivers/Vehicles
12.50 Various Entertainment
15.20 Interviews with selected drivers
16.40 Judging of Vehicles & Prize giving
17.00 Leave Madeira Drive, park cars and prepare for Gala Dinner/Dance

SUNDAY 21st May 2006

Well sadly as Dan (if he sees this) will confirm (he tried very hard to help fix the problem) the Diablo is very sick indeed....due to one of the cats breaking up and being partly sucked back into the engine...I have had it professionally checked out now..and indeed one of the cylinders does appear to have low compression...so with an engine re-build estimated at about £22,000 I think its time to let someone else have some fun with that car !

Typical just had a new starter motor fitted as well at £2,200...and rear shock before at another £2,500+

Yeh that sort of thing has always been part of my life sadly...had a cambelt fail on my Lotus...that was a total engine re-build...then an actual piston failed on my diablo 2WD...that was an engine re-build...very luckily still under warranty though I may add. I sure dont want to get stuck with this one though before it goes bang !

Yeh and I kinda thought the same about the title...LOL...any ideas what to change it to then ??

MIHALS 02-10-2006 09:58 PM

ok, get rid of that beautie, it's time to bring some new baby under your roof

I guess it has to be hard to say bye to sort of car like this, but if there's not another way to go... :bah:

so do you have already some gross idea about your new car? supercar w/o roof, hard/soft top, over 500Hp, Italian/German/British.....??? don't feel shy and tell us your plans

Yep for sure...I don't get much time to drive them anyway these days..and I think that didn't help either...leaving it in the garage not being used...trouble is...as you will know the british weather has been pretty shit all year round the last few days...so driving it around in those conditions wouldn't do it much good either (roadsters leak very badly)...you cant really win either way...

And the engne repairs costs are prett low.. ;) :P

Jabba 02-10-2006 10:06 PM

hmmm not a fan of driving hookers though.

RC45 02-10-2006 10:21 PM

^^ well, as long as your friends and family don't see.. ;)

Or -- maybe a LS6 V8 Noble - the best of both worlds... ;)

nthfinity 02-11-2006 02:33 AM

im sorry to hear about your sick lambo Jabba... its a damn pitty about the weather out there :? what a way to go tho... eating its own cat :| i guess you'll just have to do w/out them with your next auto :P

BTW... are you in for keeping with the Spyder/Roadster as your next auto?
in the mean time... hopefully the 355 is healthy.

Nice to meet you to Mihals. Lol. I'll try to bring some of my mates and a camera. :)

Regarding the other topic: We should start a new thread helping Jabba choose his next car, but Jabba needs to give the criteria (number of doors, etc) :)

Sorry to hear that. The good thing is that new supercars are much more reliable (or so they say). I'm very curious what you'll buy. I thought a Gallardo might be nice. I remeber you were a bit dissapointed about it after seeing Tiff's review. But apparently the current Gallardo has been massively improved on areas such as steering feel and handling.

Whatever you'll decide, keep us informed if you can. Reading the story gets us dreaming of having a supercar ourselves.

I can understand that. 22.000 pounds isn't pocket money

No.1 02-11-2006 06:58 PM

Shame to hear of the troubles with the Diablo, Jabba

I'm not sure what your going to get (maybe a return to Porsche?), but we will be waiting to see what you decide to buy. Good luck with the car hunt, i hope the 355 is still running smoothly :good:

graywolf624 02-11-2006 06:59 PM

^^I think we all know that nightmare..

Sorry to hear the car is sick. Still theres prolly enough demand you can get out from under it before getting crunched with a repair bill. Sides.. car shopping is almost better then ownership. Especially with ferrari... (overheard conversation between salesmen and graywolf in his head) 'Yeah Ill buy a 355 from you if you let me drive the enzo around the block a few times'.

ARMAN 02-11-2006 07:26 PM

Sorry to hear Lambo is not working well :( Its time to switch car for younger one :P

Porsches are bullitproof as far as I red/heard, they survive alot. Or other german - M5/M3. Well... I never even set in any of those so I better shut up now

FoxFour 02-12-2006 06:24 PM

At least with the current Lambos you have Audi engineering that is stout indeed. I say stick with Lambo. Just my opinion, though.

Pehtren 03-19-2006 04:40 PM

 M6

Its bad to hear for the Diablo troubles. I think the F430 would be exellent replacment.
:D
