wow, congrats for your ride mate!!! beautiful car, great pics, nice mods...

Thanks a lot!
Custom made Rotated Turbo Kit GT35R Turbo Custom Front Mount IC TEIN Coilovers Defi Gauges Touchscreen Navi/DVD 820CC Injectors HKS SSQV BOV TIal Wastegate (open dump under passenger seat  ) HKS Carbon Exhaust Cusco Sway just to name a few things.. And Yes, the ink was still wet haha, I printed it and took the picture about 5 minutes later...man its cold out there... |
nice STi man. it looks really good. nice work on it and some pretty good photography skills too!
|
Definately a beautiful ride.
Do you have any higher res pictures? I'd love one for a background. |
Nice pics and nice car!
|
Very very nice!
what kind of power have you managed to pull? Any other mods in the pipeline? |
Welcome from a fellow WRX (not STi) owner, your car looks great - definately one of the best colours for the STi.
Do you have any idea how much power you are now making? I'd love some of the full-car shots in high-res, they're great! :D |
I'm not a fan of silvergrey because you see it too often over here IMO but it fits the scooby. A basic WRX is allready a blast but with all those mods I'm sure yours is mindblowingly fast.
the pics are some of the best I've seen of a scooby! |
Great car man, nice colour and great taste in mods.i like the rims, they suite the car well.so what kinda power are you looking at? 450-500hp?
|
VERY fine machine, and I really appreciate the fact you know how to take nice pics apparently :D
|
What is that cusco sway bar made of? I'm thinking of getting some for my 240sx. I can't really decide between cusco, whitline, and tanabe. Nice ride BTW, you're a great photographer. 8)
|
Nice Impreza.
Do you have xenon ? |
Thanks everyone for the really kind words it really made my day!
It's making around 500bhp, althought it will be making more fairly soon. FPVPSI: The whole exhaust system is not stock, HKS Catback followed by custom up and downpipes. The Intercooler piping is custom bent as well. WhiteMagician: Go with Hotchkis Full Race. The Cusco and Whiteline are similar and overall very good. I have a ton of Highres Pictures and pictures of the entire process here: http://www.mdcracing.com/gallery/rau...ures/raul.html |
those pics are fantastic, man!
the STi looks wicked. |
Very nice ride.
I'm also thinking of switching my M3 to new STI |
Well, looks like I'm getting a new block.
Drove home yesterday after my boost gauge was acting funny, car felt great and pulled really hard. I got home and everything was perfect, I figured I would start the car again and see if the gauge was back to normal. Well the car wouldnt start, finally It did...it sounded like a Diesel engine with open downpipe. Needless to say something was terribly wrong.. Checked the oil, no oil. Today I took it to a specialized performance shop and after doing a compression test...0 psi cyl 3, and 100psi in the rest of em. While they should all have 150. Im bummed out, but I guess you have to keep your head up and look at the bright side....I'm already looking for a new built block...Forged internals, here I come..! It is NOT going to be cheap.... |
Nice STI  Great pics too :P

More pics would be great, and maybe a video too.... ;) |
really great car you got there :P
And as TT said you really know how to took pics 8) The car is beautiful and looks even cooler after the moods :D Did you had any 400m runs and 0-100kmh(60mph) runs...im interested in times :D i wish you many happy milles  |
theres some vids on my site. I will get many good ones once the new short block is in. I have a ton of drifting in snow videos and things like that.
|
first of all... awesome job getting the custom shot up on the first pass  great photos too, you're a very good photographer
sick ride man. that thing is beautiful, I love the style. very clean. You've done some serious tuning too... must be a rocket  did you install the parts yourself? quick question: why the front mount intercooler, instead of under the hood scoop like stock? |
8) BEAUTIFULL pics 8)
Those night shots are awesome :!: Nice car and I love the colour. The mods make it a ferrari killer. The wheels fit the car very well. Kinda a rough look 8) Thx for the pics. Saved lot's of them :) |
very nice STI. rally any? some good video too :)

Pehren, 0-100km on a good launch is somewhere around the high 3's to low 4's and Quartermile runs I dont know because the one time I got to go to the track before winter, I was wearing shorts and they didnt let me race because of it. SWT: I cant rally with like 4 inches of clearance. Car is lowered on coilovers so its more tarmac oriented than dirt oriented. Thanks all for the comments about my photography, It really makes everything worth the sweat and tears I've invested in this car. Its funny how you come to certain realizations sometimes, but it feels as if the comments about my photography are just as satisfying to me as are the ones about the car. Thanks very much for the support! |
well with coilovers you can adjust them right :D But yeah you should get some auto-x video or some tight roads and less see what you got; i am sure a lot :P
|
thanks for the info, good time :P
|
So I took the filter of my turbo out a while ago and check this out...
http://www.mdcracing.com/randomposts/bentfins.jpg Dont know how it happened, but I'm sending it in now to get fixed.... Looks like after this week Im gonna have a new block (forged internals) New clutch Redesigned FMIC fixed turbo + fixed a bunch other things electronically adjustable coilovers new intake its looking like next weekend is going to be one of those awesome weekends... Will be getting pictures of the old block and new block among things... |
04RCSTI
You have to enter next months photo of the month competition. I've had your car as my bground all week! |
Nice car and nice pics, hope you'll have fun with this car for a long time
|
hahaha which one?? I'd love to enter if TT feels that the pics are good enough, thanks!!!
|
Congragulations.. I was in the same possition as you are in couple of months ago after I blew my engine at the track.. .. I was sad that I'm going to spend some money but happy because it's going to be a beast when I finish from it.. And now I can't be happier.. Although I did not go with a GT35R as I hate lag.. I went with it's younger brother 3076 and made a terrific amount of power..440 at all 4 wheels... I am thinking of stroking the engine to reduce Lag time.

about your intake... Quote:
why not use the existing hood-scoop, with some costom fittings... and have a much cooler charge on the air entering the airbox... ultimately, aiding in cooling your impellar... and perhaps extending its life... hot air+hot exhaust doesnt seem like an ideal setup to me... even if your air is cooled by the intercooler. |
wow great scooby!
alot of power!! im getting an 06 sti pretty soon.. around my bday i cant wait!!!!!! |
^^
me neither trust me! but hey my birthday is till april... so... |

Granted if I stuck the filter in my hood scoop it would probably send an extra 5hp my way, but then I'd have to worry about water from the car wash...debree...and all those other wonderful things that get sucked into the scoop... Routing it to the Wheel well like I used to have it is really a hassle and another expense (trust me I dont need any more of those). Not to mention the extra bends in the piping only add obstructions to the airflow. Whatever HP I would gain from sucking in colder air, id loose in the piping. Happy to answer questions.. |
haha, nice pic of the turbo...i've seen a few of my dsm buddies with the same story
|
Well guys, I have a new block, new turbo and new clutch coming in the next couple of days. Its going to be really awesome once I get it back together. Car should easily make 400whp++ at 3500 rpm. I'm really excited right now because it will actually be faster and spool faster than with the bigger turbo. I cant even wait for my break in period, im going to enjoy this so much. Ill get you fellas some sweet videos when I get everything back together. Pictures will probably come tomorrow and during the next week for those who are interested.
|
I think we are all interested :P , 400whp thats a lot, and you made this from 2000ccm :?:
|
Good news, look forward to seeing it all together - good luck!
|
Just take it easy on the car when you first get it.. And drive safely..
PS: Hurry up with the pix.. |
No Pics today, and I will have to take it easy haha, I have to break it in all over again. If thats not exciting then I dont know what is. I ended up not going to see it today, but possibly on monday it will be a different story altogether.
Pehtren, the USDM STI has a 2.5l Motor, not the wrx 2.0l. And 400isnt impressive...the 903whp evo is impressive haha. because I promised pics today and didnt deliver, heres an exhaust clip driveby for you guys! http://www.mdcracing.com/gallery/raul/videos/flyby2.AVI And a quick late night snow escapade right before I got kicked out by the cops, in fact if you listen really carefully you can hear the cop car approaching at the end of the clip. http://www.mdcracing.com/gallery/rau...owdriftcop.mpg |

hey for not that much more money you too could have one of those insanely high number cars built right here in good ol' Chi-town. anyway this seems to be a pretty promising car will have to follow this build. I'm still trying to work out all the bugs on my motor swap. granted I did it all myself with some help from friends, I wish I did have someone else do it for me.
