Beat this, Veyron!

Sorrry, but I don't want a Bugatti anymore! Where can I sign to preorder this thing?

Anyway, boring at first, but if you will FF untill 3:54 or so, untill 4:15 I think, you can see some high-speed (500 kmh) passing bys.. very cool!

yeah, thanks for the link

racer_f50 01-23-2006 03:41 PM

That's certainly impressive speed, but I think I'd still prefer the Veyron. I have a sneaking suspicion the train wouldn't handle very well :P

martin100 01-23-2006 03:44 PM

The page sais "Google video is not yet available in your country." :(

nthfinity 01-23-2006 03:48 PM

no moreinteresting then the TRV??? (the high speed train in europe)
sure its fast... but being able to (slowly ) turn left and right myself

dutchmasterflex 01-23-2006 03:49 PM

hah.. awesome post. I always knew of these maglev trains but didnt actually know if they were in use.

a Veyron could probably out accellerate it to 200mph but obviously would stop at 250 where the train has another 50mph to reach..

caneswell 01-23-2006 03:59 PM

Those outside shots are pretty cool. I've been on the Chinese version from Shanghai to Pudong airport, whilst I was there summer 2004. Was 'only' 430 kph, but still rather impressive. Much more bumpy than you would think.

MIHALS 01-23-2006 04:05 PM

wow, fabulous vid
I wonder if we'll have something like this here in Europe in the near future

tracid 01-23-2006 04:24 PM

"Fastest Conventional Train 515.3 km/h (322 mph) France, TGV-A set 325. 18 May 1990"

thepest 01-23-2006 05:02 PM

Thanks TT, that was fucking sweet...8) I can't imagine how cool that would be to see in person...seeing something as big as that going as fast as that is really impressive.

SL55 AMG 01-23-2006 10:00 PM

Great Stuff TT thanks

I never realized that the maglev's were in the 500 km/hr!! range. Very impressive

5vz-fe 01-23-2006 10:14 PM

Boieng on land  I wonder if these trains under goes the same inspection / safety requirement of a plane.

jorge 01-23-2006 11:20 PM

WOW, i love that train, it looks fantastic and the speed is insane :o

DeMoN 01-23-2006 11:36 PM

wow that sounds like an airplane flying real low!

Looks better than the veyron thats for sure  but acceleration... dont think you'd feel the same.

see i did but the tech. has been around since like the 80s. yes impressive but its a train and its only able to hit those speed on long long straights. now it is did that one a solar or self propeled drivetrain then i would really be impressed. :) 8)

htfaber 01-24-2006 06:47 AM

The most impressive part of the vid for me is seeing the speedometer inside the cabin gaining and gaining in speed so easy. It just keeps on accelerating hard!

dingo 01-24-2006 10:18 AM

Very nice find, thanks TT. Maybe we can start a new section just for train videos..... :P

I've been on the TGV once (long time ago), but nothing fast since then as all the trains here are graffiti covered pieces of crap. :(

67MUSTANG 01-24-2006 12:38 PM

From what I've read, the only thing that limits the speed is the wind resistance. There has been talk of a transatlantic underwater version that would run in a vacuum. They are talking about Mach numbers for these things.

TT 01-24-2006 02:04 PM

BTW, for the records, in the video the Maglev is doing 500 km/h, but its top speed should be 580+ km/h

(BTW, uploading to rapidshare for the ones that can't see googvids)

TT 01-24-2006 02:49 PM

Rapidshare mirror added ;)
