Wow TT, how many time did you spend scanning all this stuff in? Thanks a bunch! Your effort is much appreciated!

TT 01-15-2006 03:32 PM

Well, since I got #88, I had to scan the whole 87 in a day ;)

5.7 V10 01-15-2006 04:01 PM

Thx TT :D

I'm personally not surprised by the winner; i simply feel the Ford GT is one of the most awesome supercars ever built. It' beautiful to look it; has a great V8 with a Nascar bark and it's faster than most.

Surprised as well to find the GT up there in 1st place... even in front of the F430

hehe ,

The brits are heavely involved in building the GT :

Supercharger Eaton : UK made
Gearbox Ricardo : UK made
Steering taken from an Aston : UK made
The engine developed by Roush : UK company

Brakes Brembo : italian made

So i`am not very surprised

Thx for the effort TT , we appreciate :D

Are you quite sure about that? Last I read, Eaton superchargers are made in the US. Roush is a US-based company (headquartered in Livonia, Michigan), and the GT engine was developed in the States.

Awesome scans, thanks!

RAMMIUS 01-17-2006 07:57 AM

^^^^guess what , being based in britain the stuff it`s uk made

Nowhere on that page does it say that Roush is UK based. That is just Roush's UK arm, which is overseeing the care of the Euro press Ford GT's, as well as homologation of Ford GT's for the Euro market. (They also do the tuning of the Duratec engines found in Nobles.) Roush is still American-based.
http://www.roushind.com/html/roush_atglance.htm

The engine development (dyno tuning as well as in-car test mule work) was carried out in the States. As a bit of trivia, the Ford GT team (for project "Petunia") set up shop in a former Roush building in Detroit, in fact, to avoid direct meddling from Ford bureaucrats.

But the Brits did help in developing parts of the car, no question about that.

Thanks TT!!!

twboy1999 01-18-2006 04:09 PM

J-San 01-18-2006 06:57 PM

Thank you very much! It was a great read and it must have been a hell lot of work for you to scan so many pages!

dingo 01-20-2006 10:05 AM

OK I finally got around to reading it all, great article and sounds like a fun trip they had! :D

The winner wouldn't have been my choice, personally I'd take the SE or F430. :D

Thanks a million for scanning it TT, I understand how much time it must've taken. :D
