SFDMALEX 10-30-2005 08:41 PM

What are your specs mate? You can run it in DirectX 7 mode take it easy on the details and Im sure you will be able to run it. Just make sure you have a wheel.

Its the physics not the graphics that makes this sim what it is mate

The problem is my geforce fx 5200 - the shittyest card in the universe, even NFS U1 worked epileptically wich made impossible to play the game cause in game every msecond counts and when you have 1-2 seconds lag you wanna smash the crap out of PC :x

Banchi105 10-30-2005 09:39 PM

Holy

I'm going to have to get a new computer now.

and one of these to go with it http://www.thomas-superwheel.com/prods.html

SFDMALEX 10-30-2005 10:05 PM

/\/\/\TSWs are solid wheels but sadly no force feedback. And in a modern sim no force feedback is the same as driving pole position on Atari...its going back to the stone age.

vexor 10-30-2005 10:14 PM

I have to cpu to play it, I have the wheel with force feedback, now I just need the game.

When is the release date or is it already out?????

As I've never used a very decent wheel I can't say anything from first-hand experience, but I was under the impression (from both their site and 3rd party reviews) that in the end the force feedback just isn't a big a deal as its made out to be. Have a solid and accurate Wheel and pedal setup adds more to the driving experience than having the wheel try to jerk the opposite direction. :?:

Well I've been into simracing for over 6 years and owned/own many wheels.

Anyone who says FF is not a big deal is a stupid old fart.

Force Feedback is absolutly essential. Whats the point of a sim if you dont have force feedback? :| Force feedback effects these days are nothing like they used to be(vibrations). You cant drive withouht FF. YOu just cant. Its like driving with no audio or blind folded. THe wheel provides with all of the vital information. Tire state, road grip, track surface infromation....List is endles.

In a modern sim FF is absolutly essential.

And there are solid FF wheels. The Logitech Wheels are solid products. The GT4 wheel is 900 degrees, and ball bearings. Solid product. The Logitech MOMO is built like a truck. I own both. Both solid accurate products.

BTW none of the non-ff wheels TSW and the rest included beat the Logitech Driving Force Pro as far as resolution/accuracy goes.

Well - I think I'll wait for Christmas... asking for both the game and the new computer

...seriously - to those whoīve alreadey played it quite some time - is is that good, graphics already looking very promising but u mentioned that the SIMULATION is also quite impressive.....is it !???

i bought a PSII and GT4 only because of the NS driving as i wanted to check it out but i have to say that - of course itīs "just" a game - itīs not very close to the real thing, the real driving impression/feeling - to say it - not even close :? itīs quite good to practice the track a bit but a guy who only "drove" NS on PSII and then thinks he can go and ride the real thing will be quite surprised

from what iīve seen i already love that GT Legends game and my serious question now - is it worth (to buy + new high-perf. PC ) !???

thx for your input guys... :P

Fleischmann 10-31-2005 07:50 AM

 at the DeTomaso Pantera. graphics look really awesome, gotta finally upgrade my PC :(

Gilles27 10-31-2005 11:23 AM

Impressive screen shots. Bunch of nice cars to ride though itīs virtual...
And what about the tracks. Wich are aviable?

Gilles27 10-31-2005 11:27 AM

Certainly the Halloween ambientation has very good aspect. I have been charmed with it. Congrats!

Cool. Thanks for your thoughts on it.

I'm still kind of shying away from investing money in a nice computer and wheel setup as I know I wouldn't get anything done anymore. Maybe I could put like a 30 minutes a day restrictor on it or something.

-Not sure if its SLI, not my shots. I can manage better my with my rig actually  Which is a single 850XT

And no, no Stratos, it doesnt race in the FIA GTC TC Championship which GTL simulates :(

Here is an example of a high quality shot I took  Clean no editing at all. Keep in mind that there is some quality loss when a screen is taken, it looks better in game. This is from the demo, there is a slight change in color in the full release, it doesnt have this cartoony glow in it in the real thing, but just shows you how "clean" the sim looks.

Is it an Ultra?

You still need a killer rig to run this baby full force  Actually you need the best of the best to run this smooth with all the deatails.

People are actually having better results ATI cards with GTL, they seem to have an edge in this particular sim.

But a 6800 ULTRA or an OCed GT should run it just fine, with a few things like track side characters off...

Plus you have the choice of running in DX8 mode instead of DX9. Thats 30fps right there, but you do miss out on the DX9 goodies, but it will still look ace.

nthfinity 10-31-2005 11:56 PM

nah, its a GT but for $270 or so; it was quite the deal back in june :)
http://www.bfgtech.com/6800GTOC.html

i still havent tested my limits for o/c with the card (actually, right now my HDD is my biggest limiting factor... running about 1/10th speed... and the CPU is the next limiting factor @1.667ghz AMD xp 1900... which im almost 100% sure i could o/c to 2.0ghz.. but i didn't unlock the chip way back when.

Your card is up for the job but that chip is a major bottle neck for the card and for the system in general :|

You can pick up a 3200 for like 120$ these days

RC45 11-03-2005 12:57 AM

I like em... but how is the incar-ingame...? experience.. not the replay eye-candy... :)

Some times in GTR it wasn't as polished as it should have been.

And the control - is it as exagerated in the under-steer department like GTR?

The part of GTR I found unltra un-realistic was the tendancy to plough like an Audi at 5mph ;)

In game is the best part, not the eye candy. Just go read comments people make, it feels stellar. Nothing like it. The fluidity, the feel...But keep in mind these cars are nothing like GTR. Tires dont have sharp slip curves, are much slower, much easier to drive, you can slide them around thanks to the tires they run. But they are still extremly hard to drive fast and on the limit...Trying to get a decent time out of an overpower Mustang is not easy, nor is trying to max out all you can from the underpowerd Lotus.

This trully feels polished, and with the patch in the works right now it is looking to be very stable and solid.

And there is no low speed understeer any more. That was an old engine issue...anyway anyone who experianced it was just driving too slow, because that was a a problem at extremly low speeds.

Anyway only you will know if its good for you or not by trying it.

Everybody loves it, even the online magazines do

stunning car :-D
ok this is looking extremely pre-rendered, more likely... the T+L engine is far beyond that of any other racing game ever.

just to bring up an old topic... how many poly's per car were used in general?

Nah man just so PS motion blur.

Oh and youd be surprised how low the polys are. I will tell you for sure tomorrow maybe, SimBin boys are not online to ask right now.

But it's lower than any other car game/sim out there.

hehe. Carmageddon! I used to play that on LAN a lot. THat was a great game. Classic!

NFS1. Another classic. Its the game that really got me into exotics. I loved the Lambo.

But seriously the poly count is much lower then anything in GT4 or Toca or any of the car games. SimBin has top modelers on the team, these guys know how to make a low poly car that will look the same as a 60 000 poly model

But they still seem to have that "computer graphic" look that GT3 and GT4 managed to hide.

im going to have to disagree with that based on the stills. even in photo mode it still looks like a computer graphic.

also dont forget your tv (if ps2 supports it, i dont think so tho) is at max running 720p, where your pc (at least mine) is running most games at 1600x1200

Put it on your tely and it masks the "computer graphic" look.

Tried numerous computer games on the TV and the whole look changes since its not as sparkly and you cant see any details.
