Just stealing 2 min of your time before showing the pics to comment an important change made to scs.com! After JW's donations system, it was time for me to put up some google ads on my own website. The load these days was quite heavy, we are talking about a minimum of 2500 unique visitors per day, and more than 5 GB transferred every 24 hours. That makes some 150 GB a month, and lot of disk space. And to have a proper server with a proper suport, you need to pay more than the random cheap offers. It's my hobby, I like it, but I don't want to end up spending 100 USD/month to keep the website online. We are not there yet, don't worry, but maybe one day :P
Afterall those ads are basically everywhere, and I went for the text only option, which is not very instrusive and with the template I picked, I think you barely notice them.
Please don't get mad at me, it was the only solution I saw, and if you could give them a click or two every now and then, I would really appreciate :!:
:!: THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING :!: , please let me know what you think about this new "feature"

Ok, new update, cars in the street, YAY, and you know what? We are back in Paris for a couple of pics (more in the following update): in april we went there to do some shopping, took the plane early morning, came back in the evening, it was cool :D and I had time to do the usual loop ;), shitty weather but some interesting cars!

20 high-res pics can be found by clicking these previews

The first cars are from Lausanne and Genève.
Thsi Modena can be seen VERY easily in the banks area in Geneva ;)

550... classy in silver even if many ppl don't like it in this color
http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost...ri_550_230.jpg

BBS wheels on Maseratis are to die for! This one was so damn cool!
http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost...Spider_069.jpg

One of the several 996TT going around Lausanne, perfect in winter ;) nice lady at the wheel ;)
http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost..._Turbo_319.jpg

I had to wait several weeks before finally beeing able to shoot this Techart 996TT! Mad car!
http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost...echart_002.jpg

Paris now:

Arnage, such a sexy car, and actually right beside and slightly in front of it, they were filimg a movie :) interesting but no time to stop and take a look ;) I had to hunt
http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost...Arnage_084.jpg

Maybach 62, not really parked like you normally would do it ;)
http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost...ach_62_093.jpg

SLK32, well, it was a rainy day, so I was already happy to see something like it ;) of course in Paris cars are realyl sandwitched, so not many angles possible ;)
http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost...32_AMG_005.jpg

And finally, sandwitched 997S, still rare back then :bah:

The car that really stood out for me was the Masser with BBS wheels.... looks mean and low, especially with the soft-top up 8)

Love the Techart, but the 996 seems so ugly now next to the newer (but older looking) 997 :)

Thanks for the excellent pictures as always.... i need to check out some of your last updates because i haven't had much time for a while :?

TT 10-20-2005 04:32 PM

Indeed, if I would be forced to pick only one car out of this bunch, the Maser could be the one I would go home with. Actually I don't know if it was a Cambiocorsa or a proper stick, if a CC, I would rather go for the classy 550 ;)

No.1 10-20-2005 04:40 PM

Sure... the 550 is nice too :P

LOL - i idn't even notice the ads on the site, and i am sure you have made the right decision, as they are unintrusive IMO too.

Nearly 200 000 hits... it was only a matte rof time. Indeed i have seen your pics on sites and forums all over the net. The banner must help 8)

Just a quick question about the ads - is it a fixed payment from google? or do you get $$$ per hit?

TT 10-20-2005 05:15 PM

Thanks dude, always appreciated your delicate advertising ;) any more infos about your future website?

To be honest, it's not really well explained. there are some that pays per hit, others that pays per click... really no idea and the report isn't detailed enough.. for the records, untill now, 4% of the visitors actually clicked something :D which is plenty enough ;)

LOL... i clicked all four that came up for me.... to help you out, and because they were all about Ferrari Driving experiences. Now i have my licence, i need another 6 months experience before i have the 12 months required to have a bash in an Elise on a circuit 8) .... Ferrari/Porsche rewuire 2 years experience :(

Good luck with the site, TT, i hope funds never get in the way of your showing the world what they are missing :D

dingo 10-20-2005 06:49 PM

That Maserati is

The Techart is an awesome machine, and a great sighitng on the street too!

Thanks for the update, and the ads aren't that bad IMO - good job. :D

ae86_16v 10-21-2005 12:52 AM

No bad at all TT. The ad is hardly noticable, in fact, I was looking at the pictures first then read your post before I realize it was there.

Clicked on all 4 of them. . . hope that helps!!!

TT 10-21-2005 03:37 AM

BTW, yesterday I had a big LOL!

I tried to put the ads code on the "in depth" page and check out the "relevant" ads!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.swisscarsightings.com/indepth.html

I think I will keep it there just for the fun :D

stmoritzer 10-21-2005 03:41 AM

I found a difference to that isr.....tings.com page , the ads  j/k
For me the ads are ok, they don't ruin the page lay-out... I clicked on the ads and they open in the same window, IMO they better would open in another window, what do you think TT ?

Thanks for the update, you catched some very hot cars :D
The Maser is nice, so is Techart996
I like the two-color scheme on the MAybach62, a must for this car IMO

Pehtren 10-21-2005 03:47 AM

Same here, sadly there is nothing about it, I just copy and paste their script, which I better not modify ;)

You, such ads can be implemented into a forum layout, either on top either as a column at the side(s) I think

vakpemil 10-21-2005 05:48 AM

The Maserati is damn sexy :D tnkx for the update

pzgren 10-21-2005 06:04 AM

the techart is a great and rare sighting - great, i like it, i would take one
the maybach is also nice, and not seen very often too

Schwalbe 10-22-2005 04:34 PM

Cool pix as always TT ! Thanks for the black B5 RS4. :D

raphaelws 10-22-2005 04:39 PM

thanks for the F550.. perfect ass.. 8)

Wutputt 10-22-2005 04:44 PM

That Maser is idd very sexy! But imo the Techart 996TT is the most special car you ran into!

As for the adds, with such amount of visitors, they were inevitable, but they are hardly annoying.

gucom 10-22-2005 05:26 PM

thanks for the update, nice pics :D 550 in silver is GREAT IMO, and Techart 996TT...hmmm i dont like 911's looking like monsters to be honest...i prefer them more subtle.
As for the ads, i had to look twice to see them. clicked all of em, hope it helped

komotar 10-22-2005 06:32 PM

My favourite is the 550, that'd be the one I would pick to drive home in! 8)

Thanks for the pics, TT :)
