RAC Rally - Alpine, AM, Ferrari, Jag, Maserati......
Today there was a Rally to celebrate 100 years of the RAC - some 500 cars took part. However most of them were really old timers, which don't interest me much, so not that many pics really. :bah:
Anyway there were a few cars which made it worth attending..... :D All the high-res pics can be viewed on my website  www.ozcarsightings.com Alpine GTA V6 http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(1).jpg A nice collection of Aston Martins, and damn is the Lagonda an ugly thing. :? http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(4).jpg http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(5).jpg http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(6).jpg There were quite a few E-Types in attendance also... http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(2).jpg Then this Byfield XJS-HE Jaguar - no idea what its all about, but it has a V12. :D http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(3).jpg Jaguar XK120 http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(7).jpg Ferrari 360 Spider, the only Ferrari there. :( I was expecting a 250 Lusso but it didn't show. http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/360.jpg Maserati Indy http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(9).jpg Bentley Azure http://www.ozcarsightings.com/preview/racrally(10).jpg All the high-res pics can be viewed on my website  www.ozcarsightings.com |
Some great pics Dingo. I really like that combo shot of the DB5's. And the same goes for the side shot of the XK120. No pics of the cars in action?
Any more info about that special XJS? |

I also didn't found anything with a quick search. As for the Ferrari ride: it sure is always nicer having a ride in a nice car than watching them drive by :) |

Oh and I just saw some coverage on news and apparently 750 cars were there......I can't count that high so I just said 500. :P |
Quite a nice event and what a sunny day! Today I had a photoshoot with a couple of cars and the fog was so tick that even traveling at 120 kmh was SCARY!
BTW, the Lagonda is IMO ice cool! You got a nice pic of that Indy, too bad the wheels are turned the wrong side :bah: not your fault. Like the Sebring, it's a rare sight! |
that Jag is really ugly! but there is a V12 so it balances it out a bit but i love those old Turbo Esprits!!!
|
I'm not a big fan of old cars..
I would take the F360.. 8) thanks anyway |

There was actually a big French Car meeting last weekend but I couldn't make it - would've been a few more beauties there I think. :D |
*bump*
I just found some information about the byfield yellow Jag, Cliff Byfield is an 83 year old Perth man who builds luxury cars in his own backyard :D An interview (they're also talking about the car) : http://www.abc.net.au/stateline/wa/c...5/s1489243.htm |

Interesting stuff, I should have seen that on TV myself - need to start watching Stateline more often. :D Thanks. |
Some really nice cars! 8)
I loved the Alpine GTA and the old Lotus Esprit. The Byfield XJS-HE Jaguar is a bit weird. The rear could be better but the rest is really cool :D The car that says 64Jensen in the license plate is quite cool too. The front lights are a bit ugly but the rear is damn nice. Those exhausts are a bit big for a stock car. Quote:
