humm, Logitech makes some nice steering wheels imo, you can see them at www.logitech.com ofcourse, they have some nice models, but the ones I saw are pretty expensive like 200€'s but I bet they are very nice quality stuff :D

yes...the Driving force is a good wheel, but it only has about 270 degrees of rotation, and the force feedback, while reasonably good, isn't very strong. The Driving Force Pro is probably the best wheel on the market. It has 900 degrees of rotation, (more than 2 turns from lock to lock in other words), very strong force feedback and is designed to run in 2 modes. The first mode is designed to take advantage of the wheel's extra range of mobility for games like GT4 and a couple of others. The second mode is for games which don't support the full 900 degree movement range and as a result, the wheel locks itself down to 270 degrees to function with every racing game out there.

I have both wheels. The Driving Force was the top of the line up until a year ago when the Pro came out. The Driving Force Pro would be my recommendation.

DFP 900 - same as you... ;) (among others)

Ahhh..very good, very good. I've got a couple others too obviously...Microsoft Sidewinder something-or-other for the computer...but the DFP 900 is better anyway.

I use the DFP on the PC as well.

Yeah, I made the switch as soon as I got it, the Force Feedback is a huge step up on even the Microsucks one.

In Canada, Toronto to be exact taking a piss means urinating. And being "pissed" means being angry.

About the driving force pro The problem with that is that in israel they dont have it and any store or site you wont find it.. Than I cant buy it, it sucks...

That is why you go to eBay - create an account, find a wheel for sale - and ask the seller if they will ship/cost ect. Then you will need to approach your local post office for specific local rulse regulaitons and other controls.

I'm with RC45 on this one. The Driving Force *PRO* really improves the quality of the game. If you can't find the thing in a store, register an account with Ebay or Amazon.com and buy one. There are plenty of online "stores" on both and it shouldn't be very hard to find one that carries the wheel and will ship to Israel.

The DF Pro is new, the DF is old. 2 completely different products. Is it worth it? Sure. Is it as good? No.

Why not buy from an international site? There are plenty out there and what about that logitech site I posted for you, can't they order one for you?

In th site they wrote ship only to usa and canda i think.. anyway if i order it from an international i donnt know in what conditions it will be when i get it and also i its broken down or somthing like that... I dont wont to mess with those things..

That's a poor excuse. If you want the wheel, then there are definitely ways to get it via Ebay or Amazon, I know for a fact that most Ebay sellers will ship outside the US/Canada and that there are European and Asian versions. There are entire businesses that do online transactions only, and that is how I've gotten each of my wheels. The prices are generally quite a bit less than what you'd pay in a store, and you can get brand new equipment anyway, so the broken down bit is...not generally a problem. You just have to be mindful of with whom you're conducting the transaction and make sure that it's a reputable source.

Additionally, Amazon.com DOES ship to Israel, I just checked.

Amazon does not ship electronics outside US. Only CDs, DVD, VHS, that type of thing.

I don't know for sure, but I imagine they're still producing the DFP, I saw some in the CompUSA near where I live within the last 2 days.

Just giving my personal opinion about DFP, i think nobody minds.

I don't know if the problem is me or my model was a bad one.

First the coating layer started to get off quickly on the hands zone, maybe because it's too sticky, leather would be a lot better.
Then when braking quick and hard, in my house floor, the pedals slided a bit. Problem solved by attaching under an iron bar with about 2 kilos.

Another detail is the gearshift knob, i think it has too much electronic feel (you can hear the micro-switch tik-tak) and too short movement travel, i would like a more mechanical touch.

The worst part was one day when did the first turn and the wheel slided on the desk table. Picked something to squeeze that odd "screws" a bit more, and when i barely touched it cracked. Went to the shop, and no warranty for that. I understand that i squeezed in earlier times maybe a little too much, because my desk table is in Formica, and the DFP moves a bit (IT DON'T HAS ANY KIND OF RUBBER BAND under to prevent this).
Problem solved by opening it (loose warranty) and make a new broken piece in alluminium.

By now with more than 7000Kms on it, it's working well. I never buyed any other model or brand before, but for what i've read, maybe it's the best you can buy, specially with the 900° feature.

I almost forgot to say that i added some self adhesive rubber bands under the DFP in order to give more stability on the table desk.
