Spa: 2xCGT, 15xGT3 RS, 4xGT2, Gembella, 5xCSL, 20xSkyline,..

I went to Spa-Franchorchamps to visit a trackday this Tuesday. Like always at Spa there was a lot to see. I didn't take that much pics, since I also went to Spa the weekend before and I forgot to recharge my batteries :|

There were two Carrera GT's. You may remember the yellow one, I saw it also a few months ago at Spa. At that time it was dirty, but now the owner had cleaned it.

There were about 15 996 GT3 RS's. Not as much as the weekend before, when I counted about 20 of them, but still quite a lot. And you had them in every body/wheel colour combination you could imagine:

I think the following one is a Gembellad 996 Turbo S, but I'm not 100% sure. Can anyone confirm?

http://img97.echo.cx/img97/8237/dsc4462e6tw.th.jpg http://img97.echo.cx/img97/8020/dsc44639lk.th.jpg

A couple of 993 GT2. Not sure if they are all real GT2's. On the other hand some may even be real GT2 Evolutions. Is there a 993 GT2 specialist in the room to clarify things up? :D

There were a lot of Skylines too, I think about 20: GT-R (R32, R33, R34), R34 GT-R Nur, and R33 GT-S:

http://img213.echo.cx/img213/3654/dsc4283e1dk.th.jpg http://img213.echo.cx/img213/7392/dsc42593yn.th.jpg http://img213.echo.cx/img213/9211/dsc42980zx.th.jpg http://img213.echo.cx/img213/6747/dsc43060ij.th.jpg

Some EVO's, Scooby's and a Supra:

Amazing cars, but most important, amazing picture quality! Do I see some polarizer filter's effect here and there or am I just dreaming?

Nice pictures.
Btw how much is a track day over there. here on California Speedway is like $170 dollars for 4laps. and $150 for Willow. and not a famous track like Spa or the Ring.

Titanboy_24 05-28-2005 01:45 PM

phenominal panning shots!

It depends who's organising the track day. But fro Spa it ranges from € 275 to € 375 for one day (no lap limit) without pitbox.

TT 05-28-2005 02:24 PM

Yeah I love them - I saw one today (just a Targa though) and probably took more pics of that than I do of most other cars (except maybe a Diablo since I love them just as much) :)
Its good to hear there are more 993 pics to come.......I'm waiting. :D

Hmm that's weird, the PorscheCeramicCompositeBrakes(bigger yellow callipers and the brakediscs are darkgrey and bigger as normal) are standard on a 996 Turbo S...
http://www.automotriz.net/images/tec...amica/02_2.jpg

This one has the normal steel brakedisc's and normal red callipers, as on a normal 996TT. Maybe he put on the "S" because he had the X50 package, giving it 450, same as on the Turbo S.

I've never seen that rear spoiler before, same for the exhaust. Could be gemballa, but can't seem to find those parts on their website.

Wutputt 05-30-2005 12:51 PM

^^^
Maybe this car is modified by another Porsche tuner, but I wouldn't know which one either. The fact that the brakes aren't standard is pretty normal if the car is used a lot at the track. Most owners change the standard brakes on their cars for track day use, even if the car has some standard ceramic composite brakes. Or it could idd be a normal 996TT with a S badge :D

I think the brakes are standard, as far as i can see , 1 way to find out :D check you original pictures, you should be able to read what's on the callipers

Wutputt 05-30-2005 04:18 PM

^^^
That's pretty impossible with pannig shots: with the longer shutter times, the spokes of the rims blur the image in front of the calipers, but it defenitely could pe Porsche spelled in white on them, so it prolly is.
