TT 05-27-2005 06:04 PM

The one in the first post ain't a GT2!

inso 05-27-2005 06:18 PM

TT, i dont disagree, but i just would like to know what difference did you spot?

TT 05-27-2005 06:19 PM

The infamous rear whiper and I think I can also see the top of the rear seats: a rear GT2 doens't have whiper or seats

|Nuno| 05-27-2005 06:22 PM

^^

Yeah, and the GT2 sits lower too.

ARMAN 05-27-2005 06:35 PM

if anyone else have it, then yes, it worth it  Seriosly I dont know, might be modifyed turbo

TT 05-27-2005 06:40 PM

It is for sure a 996 with upgrades

Mers 05-27-2005 07:57 PM

The exhaust also seems to be wrong in the porsche....

STiInYourEye 05-27-2005 11:37 PM

Great pics, but those guys always have the best photos! Also, sweet shots of the new RS4.

styla21 05-28-2005 02:26 AM

Good to see you looked through every page Silvia :) . I havn't seen a white CSL before!

inso 05-28-2005 03:03 AM

STiInYourEye Maybe you should also read excellent RS4 article in CAR mag.

reading this should help everyone to master the ´Ring, if really mastering it is a full lifetime event.

Maybe a converted regular M3? At least it's modified a lot, I can spot a rollcage and lexan sidewindows.

TT 05-28-2005 03:17 PM

Would be bizarre to paint the carbon roof indeed

inso 05-29-2005 04:05 AM

the first car some nice cf detailing. like cf kidneys in the front and it has dynoed 370+ hp, kelleners mapping, cams and exhaust does the trick, and semislicks, bigger brakes and full kelleners spec suspension are nice on the track.

Now it is more Gran Turismo than track tool, with leather and all luxury. Thou I feel that it´ll go thru some changes, like the blue M3 in the pictures. With bucket seats and stuff.

GTO 05-29-2005 04:17 AM

Really nice pics! Thnaks!

I remember this being discussed before but can't remeber the outcome, I can't really tell from these pictures what it is ?

CSL in white stickerjob + fake navigation sharktale

or

normal alpine white M3 + aftermarket CSL front and boothlid ?

sikx5 05-30-2005 11:05 AM

^^ Im not sure on that one either, considering he has painted the mirrors, door handles, wheels black, and carbon front spoiler, and that rear boot is the CSL plastic one also. So i guess the doors must be some light weight material as it has plexi glass....But if hes gone to paint all the other parts black, he would of left the Carbon roof?

hmm.....

ofcourse !! how could I have missed that

definetly a normal e46 M3, nobody is going to be that stupid to paint the C/F roof

Well, there are lots of people that don't like the look of C/F.....

inso 05-31-2005 07:44 AM

I know also few guys that dont like the look of cf, one has cf bonnet and was thinking to paint it, luckily he didnt. CF bonnets looked strange also in my eyes when they came to market, but now they look the business.

MartijnGizmo 05-31-2005 11:31 AM

The only Google-hit on the licenseplate directed me to some German M-Board, but you have to be a paying member to see the message about the Nürburgring. :(

I found no results for JTM Sports (as seen on the windscreenbanner).

DeMoN 05-31-2005 11:50 AM

OMG that porsche's rear wing! If there could be a way to make the 911 uglier... thats how.

MartijnGizmo 06-01-2005 03:47 PM

Update on the white M3: I browsed some German M-forums, and it appears that BMW doesn't allow the usage of CSL-parts on the regular M3. You could mount them, but you can't get your car certified by the TÜV. And since this car is running regular licenseplates, it appears to be roadlegal so it should be a CSL. But on the other hand: what would the TÜV say about Lexan sidewindows?????

TT 06-01-2005 03:56 PM

Well, you can mount them without notifying the TuV obviously.. so the car was registered as a regular M3, got the plates, then the CSL parts were installed, without declaring them.. it's an option...

MartijnGizmo 06-02-2005 06:50 AM

But you really have to be a bit crazy to risk driving a €55k car without TÜV and thus insurance etc..... It would've been more logical if he'd been running "Rote Nummer" (red dealers plates).

inso 06-14-2005 02:33 PM

http://carfreaks.net/video/cf-sti-ah...20605-xvid.avi New vid with STI on Ahvenisto track, check this one and M3(older video http://carfreaks.net/video/cf-m3-ahv...-1_32-xvid.avi) video on the same track, and you notice how much quicker steering there is in the STI, very easy to drive, and there is only 2sec difference in laptimes. Techart 911 video is not comprable because of the tyres, it went 1:26 after fitting semislicks thou ;) (M3 1:31 and STI 1:33)

It's not a CSL but a modified M3 with CSL parts. Looks really good though.
