  • Rolling cars
  • Flying a Mini Metro

mindgam3 05-07-2005 07:00 AM

I'm not entirely sure but I think the flying mini metro was done by students from my college - Brunel University, could be wrong though ;)

Definately looking forward to the MC12, F430, Sagaris, M5 and Wiesmann ;)

Where did you find the info btw?

ARMAN 05-07-2005 07:33 AM

I wanna see the most Nurnburgring :P Will ba laugh I suppose :) 430, m5, Masers, Weissman are vital too. In fact I wanna see all of them :P

Sir_GT 05-07-2005 08:26 AM

I wonder what JC is going to come up with to discredit the M5...

Fleischmann 05-07-2005 08:40 AM

nice line up, but somehow it all doesn't seem to match last years group of tested cars. All we can do is wait...

nejcdolinsek 05-07-2005 09:17 AM

Damn this is gonna be a good season :D :D The CLS, M5, F430 and MC12 are gonna be killers!!!

The Range Rover Sport vs. tank is gonna be interesting

TeflonTron 05-07-2005 09:37 AM

Not to knock the new M6, but I sat in, and poked around in one, whilst in Frankfurt, and I have to say that the interior reeked of plastic! The door lining is a faux leather, but still plastic, the paddle shifts felt like the plastic from a television remote control! I'd want real bloody leather for my Euro 122,000!

yg60m 05-07-2005 09:51 AM

Humm; can't wait to see these cars tested by Top Gear team ! :D

bmwdakias 05-07-2005 10:10 AM

can someone inform me on the broadcast time and day of top gear?
As far as JC is concerned he has a way of making every car test review enjoyable and amusing but his remarks on some cars are just really annoying, e.g BMW 1 series.

BACR 05-07-2005 12:51 PM

Only about 2 weeks, 1 days, 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 5 seconds until the new Top Gear season starts on May 22nd @ 8pm! (at the time of posting of course)

ARMAN 05-07-2005 01:16 PM

No m6? :?

|Nuno| 05-07-2005 01:21 PM

Cool, the big ones are on that list.

But to be honest, I was expecting some more cars (good cars that is). Heh, I guess I was spoiled by the previous series...

martin100 05-07-2005 02:17 PM

Can´t wait to see what JC has to tell about the F430. He already discribed the 360 CS as "perfect" and the F430 is already said to be better in every way... Only two weeks to go

pimrusis 05-07-2005 02:54 PM

I am glad he is going to test the CTS-V. I was hoping he wouldn't ignore it, even though he will say it sucks.

J-San 05-07-2005 03:01 PM

That sounds great! I can't wait!

crayzayjay 05-07-2005 04:02 PM

Not much Porsche action :(

Would like to see a Nurburgring feature with a fast car rather than a van :?

Wutputt 05-07-2005 04:27 PM

The abov- mentioned stuff is just a small part of the new series. So don't worry there will be lots more ;)

Well you know what Sabine said in the previous series, when Jeremy did the Ring in 10 minutes with the S-type 2.7d? "I can do that in a van!" Well you'll see the answer to that statement in a couple of weeks. Cigarette1 was at the Ring during the shooting. Just have a look at his topic in the What you saw today section ;)

Seriously: Yesterday I saw the Top Gear magazine lying in a store. It had some funny plastic sitting around it on which was written: 'Free The Ultimate Top Gear TV Guide'. So I couldn't resist grabbing it and take it home (after I payed of course ;)). When I opened it I found this nice little mag in it :D

komotar 05-07-2005 06:33 PM

A nice lineup...

I can't wait for the Masers to be trashed....

I hope they didn't tell us everything.....I love secrets.

gucom 05-07-2005 06:36 PM

I'm still waiting for the Koenigsegg CCR being tested on top gear... :?

coloradosilver 05-07-2005 06:37 PM

Are they going to have a teaser video for the season like they did just before the last season? I loved that vid.

Allready trying to undermine the review before you have even seen it.......

Even if it is a M it might not be perfect, I see no wrong in saying so in a review.....He does the samew to Audi`s you know......

I just think he's incredibly biased, although admittedly, he is entertaining.

He does it to every popular brand though, except for the "untouchables" such as Ferrari (because if you screw Ferrari in a review, you're excommunicated from their list of press people).

Aside from his obvious bias, I think the only real problem with him is that he looks at every car at face value, and not the real benefits/costs of owning one.

The Mazda RX8 vs Nissan 350Z is one glaring example. He raved about the Mazda, but never really talked about (although he did mention it passively) how much the Mazda would eventually cost you... which isn't exactly "cheap" as he described it. In fact, for what the 350Z costs initially, you'll save far more money with the 350Z at the end of the day compared to the Mazda.

...but of course, he won't say that, because it would make Top Gear a sensible show, which might make it boring. :|

Yes, they showed it at the beginnig of the 1st episode last season, but they had also released it a few weeks (or days) in advance before the season had started to promote the new season. Was just wondering if we'd get to see another one of those nifty teasers.

Absolutely!

It's kinda funny though. Every time a Jaguar or and Aston is compared to another car of the same class or catagory, he will choose the Jag or Aston every time, no matter what the competition might be. I suppose thats just him being loyal to England though.

Nissan 350Z Roadster vs Audi TT Roadster vs Chrysler Crossfire Roadster

mindgam3 05-08-2005 09:28 AM

Loyal and biased would be a good description actually.

The 1-series review still resonates in my head... he trashed it on the show, and in his column (the times), yet, ironically, Top Gear MAGAZINE declared the 120d "best in class", and this was backed up by EVO, CAR Magazine (who actually put the 120d in their ECOTY top 5), 5th Gear, and Channel 4.

So... it sort of makes you think... did he really have a point? Or was he just using the 1-series as an excuse to vent out his dislike of BMW?

Personally, I would have to say the latter. Which bothers me, because now, everytime I watch him on the telly, I have an almost immediate reaction to question whatever he says... which isn't good, especially if you tune in to be entertained.

Ah well, sod it. Roll on May 22!!!

Is that real? It should be beside the bed of every Top Gear fan!

Edit: just read the second page. Gotta head off to the store and see if they have the Top Gear guide over here! Thanks for the tip ;)

Can't wait to see the F430 feature.. and the TVR ones. It's Jeremy Clarkson, so we know for sure any car will make a cool feature

Id like to see them test the Saleen god damnit, or the new Cobra, Z06 or maybe the new 3 series would be nice. OO they need to test the RS4 too.

I'm guessing that they will test the new Z06, but not till the fall season. Major reviewers in the US still haven't gotten a hold of it yet, and seeing as how Top Gear's filming for this season is probably pretty much wrapped, I'd put my money on seeing the new Z06 in the fall series, not spring.
