(looking for pics form last trip there on PC)

gobs3z 04-22-2005 02:06 AM

So they spend millions on a tennis court in the sky and go cheap on the grass, thats awesome.

ZZX32 04-22-2005 03:16 AM

That is the most awesome thing I've ever seen lol...wouldn't be running as hard to get to the ball would ya :D

Nice find

stmoritzer 04-22-2005 03:49 AM

guys, it's a fake tennis court !!

They had a similar "commercial" activity with Tiger Woods playing Golf on this Heli-port.

The area you see in the background is not Dubai city, as Toronto mentioned above.
It's the huge Jumeirah-area with several 5* resorts and a water park and of course the only 7* hotel of the world, the Burj-al-arab hotel.

The background of "agassi2" is the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, in "agassi1" one can see the newly built Madinata Jumeirah and the Jumeirah Beach Club and a Waterpark.
Amazing: everything you see in "agassi1" was built in the last 3 years!

In 2001, I was lucky to spend 3 days in the hotel next to the BurJ Al Arab, the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

in 2001, only this hotel, the Burj-al-arab and the waterpark were built!

and we could visit this amazing 7*-hotel,

hotel with heli-port

bathroom in a standard room
http://img153.echo.cx/img153/7090/bu...room5fb.th.jpg

main hall (inside of the "sail" shaped hotel)

in case you don't take a helicopter to fly in, they have a fleet of at least 5 white RollsRoyce to pick you up!....

and a very nice night combo

mindgam3 04-22-2005 06:02 AM

My parents stayed there for a week or so last year and are going back this year, the photos they brought back are unbelievable!

ZfrkS62 04-22-2005 08:19 AM

I never would have thought that an Arab city would be so damn amazing  American cities don't look anywhere NEAR that gorgeous. Let alone our hotels :? How about we hire some of these designers to revamp Los Angeles, San Fransisco, New York and Phoenix?

crayzayjay 04-22-2005 10:39 AM

Like it's been said, that's not what Dubai looks like, that's just Jumeirah beach. Most relaxing beach i've ever been to. Not busy and great service.

dingo 04-22-2005 10:45 AM

I saw this on TV a few months ago, but its good to get some nice big pictures of it :D THanks

Absolutely. Looking at those pictures brings back some good memories. Makes me want to go back for another holiday :)

gobs3z 04-22-2005 02:19 PM

Not to be a lazy ass and not learn my geography of the middle east, but where exactly is Dubai, anyone have a map handy. Come on ronin i know your up for this :D And yes i didn't read it, i should have assumed it was a helicopter pad, my mistake :?

crayzayjay 04-22-2005 02:26 PM

Ever heard of Google?

Here:

stmoritzer 04-22-2005 03:20 PM

A lot of hi-res pictures about these resorts can be found in the image library of Jumeriah International. ( its also the source of the pics I uploaded earlier today)

These resorts are just amazing

Enjoy!

coloradosilver 04-22-2005 04:23 PM

I wonder how many balls they lose off that thing?

Toronto 04-22-2005 04:59 PM

^^ lol cause Agassi would loose

crayzayjay 04-22-2005 06:04 PM

Federer has less than 1/100th of Agassi's charisma / character. And yeah, we'll see how he's doing when he's ~35

gobs3z 04-22-2005 07:49 PM

Well apparently these pics we're looking at are from a commercial and they did serve, i couldn't find it but my friend said he saw it on tv. And thanks A LOT for the maps, googly moogly, :D .

ikon2003 04-22-2005 08:03 PM

That's insane....Dubai is so ornate, it's rediculous. Awesome pics ! !

SFDMALEX 04-22-2005 08:11 PM

ARMAN 04-23-2005 10:50 AM

http://www.arman.xz.cz/smilees/jawdrop.gif anyone know how much costs one night in that hotel? 30.000€?

crayzayjay 04-23-2005 11:06 AM

Nah... there are some affordable rooms.

My dad was invited to stay there before the place opened to the public. They gave him one of the big suites, those rooms have a private butler each :D

ARMAN 04-23-2005 12:00 PM

Please define "affordable" :)

crayzayjay 04-23-2005 12:06 PM

Oh you know, a couple grand a night, spare change really.

lol.... just kidding. I don't know the exact prices, but you can get very reasonable deals.... A grand for a week, maybe less... i can find out ;)
