Your first experince on dling vids on JW
or better when you realized that you cannot find damn "DOWNLOAD" button
See, I saw on the main page 512 TG test with Tiff, on the page with vid were replys of people how great that vid is and I was desperate.... I was sitting clicking on every little line, word, wallpaper... anything. Then stopped and said AM I SOOOOO F**KIN DUMB OR WHAT THAT I CANNOT SEE IT!!!!!!!????????? Then I red some topics and found a guy from czech and asked him thru PM. He was kind to explained me how to and whats it all about :) What I got access later I was in heaven, so many vids, dont know wich to start with :P and then came telephone bill(ISDN at that time) for 640€  Now I dont come here vor vids, there is much better stuff than that  Whats your experince of Jabbas joke? I am sure there will be more stories to have a good laugh :D |
I remember that I desperatly wanted the 288 GTO vid.....It was driving me nuts, so I clicked everything possible on the site......
I checked around a bit and soon found out, what's the deal..... At first I was like: there's no way I will post just to dl vids and I just visited the site every now and then. No posting... Then, early 04 I started posting, because of the comunity and the people.....not for the vids...... I found the "what you saw today" section and thought I also could deliver some "goods"...... and then the site sucked me in....... If I remember corectly, I got the green light from Jabba and TT somewhere around october...not sure. I know it also had to do with the black 355 I took pictures off First week or so, I was downloading constantly...... That's what Nuno is doing these days....probably  |

But at first I didn't even know about the videos, only realised when I started to read older posts and stuff... And now, they're just a bonus. :D So, if you're reading this and don't post here 'cause you just want the videos, come on in, you won't regret it. :P |

I don't really have a special JW experience since I've been on this site ever since it started. As for downloading...I haven't even downloaded much lately. But that hasn't kept me from coming back. It's not why I came here in the first place. I'm here for the community mostly. The vids are just a nice bonus. 8) |
Cant wait for "bonus" 2005 TG and 5G vids
@BADMIHAI - I spend it, I pay it :) Now I pay 50€ for unlimited data and speed up to ~1,04 MB/s, average speed 500-700kb/s :mrgreen: |
personaly im still waiting for download access... :P
well not to be Mean to evreyone... but i have had it from day one :D |

I still remeber that because I know jabba started launching JW with some amazing videos. If I'm not mistaken it was one of the Jeremy Clarkson rips.
Those videos are still very presious to me. I've made a double backup just to be sure :D |
I came here because... I was trying to find F1 videos from kazaa, there I found the very famous mclaren f1 top gear review by tiff   OMG!! I've never seen that car been driven like that, I'm looking at a complete new, different world
I had to find more reviews like that. After knowing that show was called top gear, I looked for videos in the web and after a couple of days I found a webpage, the unreliable racingflix, and from that point you can guess, came here in october 2003. just as the noobs from those days I did not have a clue for the videos. I was never a person who read forums, went into chats, etc. I'm confesing here.... I sent one PM to ask for the vids  then I didn't login for some time, or just came to find the button... again. then started to read the forum... and started to participate after lots of post reading, I didn't know what to post, something intelligent (it has been proven I can't ). This is called a forum.. then after some time I got access and voilá |

Meh you guys suck. I'm old school. I was getting Jabbas vids long before this site came online. Basicly I was on racing flix then noticed that this guy is posting some great vids...dont remeber how I got the passwords for them, I think I had to PM Jabba or TT and had to put a special avatar. Then this site came alive...I dont download that many vids though....since I dont even have the time to watch em
So thats my story. |
Ive been here forever lol. I was the 1st person to register to JW and I am happy abot that achievement lol. When you click on MEMBER list, I am right below Jabba (jabba doesnt count as 1st cuz he register the site OK? lol).
I have imagined though, how it would be for the people that just came here. I know if I would have just signed up, I would probably click everywhere too... not to mention, EDIT - Select Alll so that everything (other than background) turned blue and see if the Hidden dload button appeared. |
/\ wow member Nr.1
|
haha yea i found this site a little over a year ago and, i had seen a top gear video with the JW logo on it. and of course i searched everywhere for the download button. i tried everything lol and eventually browsed the forum a bit and found my answer.
i must admit though i did consider......."maybe i will just ask in the forum" but something in my brain was like no bad idea, u will just end up looking like a dumbass. one of the few times my instinct actually proved to be correct. btw demon thats pretty cool that you were the first official member of JW i did not know that. and happy birthday  |

LOL, I have never not had access.....can't imagine life without it LMAO! 8)

I got access after a while, two or three months after I joined, but I'd embedded myself in the community pretty well by then.
I'm really not here for the vids, I came here cos I bore all my RL friends shitless talking about cars all the time and wanted to find some like-minded individuals. I just see the vids as a bonus to being part of the JW family. 8) |
I remember how i had got a vid off kazaa with the JW logo at the beginning, it was a quality review and a quality rip, so I thought i might as well check out the web address that was there. And shazam. I cant remember to be honest, but i think i might have asked TT why i couldnt download vids, he very kindly pointed me in the direction of the thread, and then i got the hang of it. For the first week or two, i just wanted to get the vids, then i started to really really enjoy it as a community, and completely forgot about the videos, i never even got anything from the vid links threads. Much later i made some post in the general chat section i think, which obvously had in it the fact that i was not yet a member, and Jabba was like, what? you're not a member yet? I was quite chuffed and d/l'ed a couple of vids and the bullrun series etc. I still dwonload the regular TG rips, but that really is it. I havent ever downloaded a full 5th gear episode, and have only ever got 1 or 2 of JC's one-off shows. I far prefer the witty banter of the likes of AL, Brembo, zfrk, transam, arman etc etc, (i dont need to name you all :D ) to downloading endless hours of car related coverage - (although it is very nice!)
Recently, i havent had anywhere near the amount of time on JW as i would like, due to school committments, in the past i would be on at lunch break during school and when i got home through to late-night! In the 6 weeks holidays in the summer, i used to stay up until 2 in the morning to see what was going on with all the aussies posting! Well thats my life story over and done with, thanks for your patience, i do hope your not all dead and/or havent grown beards and raised a family in the time it took you to read that :P Cheers Tom |

I remember that conversation! /reminisces... Thanks for the compliment about witty banter, BTW  |
My early memories of JW was from Brembo and Gis both trying to get me into this community.. I have to admit I was looking for video but I had RF anyway to download from.. After a lot of convincing from both guys I finnally posted and I still remember it .. It was pictures of my Evo.. and then it all started.. I was told by brembo that I will be given access to the vids onces I made a conciderable amount of contribution.. And I did and I did get the access pretty quickly to tell you the truth.. ( Not that I am complaning or anything ).. But then I started visiting daily and I still can't keep up with all the new stuff ... This is the longest I have ever been a member of a messageboard.. I usually just stay for couple of month and leave..

Hmm..I ended up here in September after watching my coworkers drool over the babes  I looked up at the title of the site and saw the JW banner with the Ferrari and Lambo, and figured "hmm..now why would a porn site have cars on its banner?" A few days after that one of the other coworkers was trying to get the SLR review by Turbo vid off the front page. I figured i'd try to outsmart him and spent a good while trying to figure out why right clicking and saving target as wouldn't work  Then i saw the FAQ link and followed it. I eventually found the right place and had a few laughs at some of the suggestions (864 clicks :P !) I lost interest in the vids and ended up in the F1 section and was soon drawn into the community, much like all of you were. :sigh: that first post seems so long ago
3 weeks later i got TT's PM that i was in :D I think that was about the time that the BullRun was starting so those were my first downloads i believe. I really haven't downloaded anything in quite awhile, though i have uploaded a pair of vids :D Thanks Jabba, for providing such a great way to spend my freetime, and DeMoN for helping the big J upload the software and such :) if it weren't for JW I may have completed GT4 already  |

To tell you the truth, I have visited RF only once or twice in the past 4-5 months....... I was very much an active member untill Owais took down the site for a very long while.... I couldn't wait for the new layout.....but when it finaly came, I was a bit dissapointed and I kindove lost interest....plus, I was spending much more time here posting pics and stuff..... I miss the guys at RF a bit, but I never seem to take some time to say hi to Carleton, Owais, Sp00ln and the rest...... |

O-Ace? What did he say? |

God knows what i'd have done with my time if there was no JW, probably be doing a bit better at uni!  But i think ive also learnt a hell of a lot through JW, and not the vids, the information and banter with other members here. Now this has got me thinking, how much time have i actually spent on this place!!!!!! What time are we thinking on an average post, 5-10 minutes? .... shit thats a lot of time! 254 hours! I think TT owns on this one though. |

LOL, no thanks, I think I'll visit the site and say hi to the guys..... Oh, and if you can, get a ride in his M3 or the modded Vette or whatever he drives these days, I'm sure it's something fast.. |
I used to download sometimes vids from RF. The most impressive ones had a JW logo or Jabba logo (I don't remember anymore). So it was quite logic I ended up here. Yes in the first place for the vids. When I found you couldn't just download them, but had to contribute, I stayed away  I was really busy those days, so I didn't felt like putting some time in 'just another' forum. After my exams I came back and posted once and a while some little stuff. But then again, I felt short in time. A few months ago I came back. I first got attracted by the what did you saw today section, and discovered the rest of the forum step by step. And now I'm addicted to JW :D I’m walking again into a more busy period, but I'll keep on posting this time ;)
|
Quite the same, I noticed that JW logo on some RF videos and I wanted to see if there were new vidz here.
So I registered, and obviously wondered where that download button was  I asked some of my friends if they had the same problems and they said yes ... so I ended up coming on the website. A few months later, I began checking the "what you saw today" section and I was just amazed by the amount of nice pics posted every weeks (especially the topics opened by someone called TT :?: ) Later I posted a few comments (pointless at the beginning, I have to admit) and soon some of my sights. Everybody was kind and I decided to keep on posting  I had access to the vault (October 2004 or so) as soon as I finally left my poor 56k to use a DSL modem  |
