first cars (no lying)
wow, i hope this is not a repost, but here i go. this is a topic where everyone can share fond memories of their first cars. mine was a 1988 Volvo 240dl sedan which i still have, and intend on giving to my first child. lol, it has 23k miles on it.
I had a 1996 Toyota Camry, but I crashed it on my first year of driving, I was banned from driving by my parents for a year

agh I just realized I don't have any photos of my car before I had an accident in it. Depressing :(
Anyway, my first car was a 1985 Ford Mustang LX Convertible. It was fun, but definitely a POS. |
im actually curious to find out what TT's first car was, and Jabba too. :?:
Car Chat would be more suitable for this
My first car was a VB Commodore, which the Aussies around here will know is a heap of shit....although mine was in pretty good condition :D I wish I could turn back time and have had a different first car :) |
umm .. it was an F-40 .. still have it .... my uncle gave it to me ... :D
well talking of real first car ... never had one ... 8) hope its a nice one though ... @ dingo ... what car do yea want to be yer first one .... :D |
My first car was a 1989 Mitsubishi Galant Gti Hatchback. I really liked that car, for being my first car I thought that it was pretty quick. Unfortunately it got stolen so I have no custom pic :)
But I learned to drive with a 1981 Volvo 244 GL with Overdrive. Now we're talking proper car ;) |
My first car was (is) a mk3 VW Golf. Though officially it's my sister's so i've yet to have a first car :D

My first road car was a bmw e30 316i, because it had to be rear wheel drive and that was the only decent car i could insure! It was crashed numerous times (kerbs get in the way when you are learning to drift), has always been completely thrashed for the 60K miles i had it. I've since sold it to a friend who needed a car to get to germany, it got most of the way there b4 a wheel bearing colapsed. That was replaced and its still going today. German engineering for you!
My first car was a Fiat Uno 45S ( 45 bhp).... it wasnt fast but i had good offroad times with it !!! will scan pictures...
Mini Racing Flame Red (limited edition) 998cc (cheap insurance :-) )
http://img239.exs.cx/img239/1092/1230fy.th.jpg Learnt to drive in, took my test in, been driving nearly 2 years since i got my license and never want to sell :D :D |
My first car was a 91 toyota celica. Actually I am not sure about the year. But it was the design with the 4 round lights in the front.
Well, my first car was an Audi B4 Coupé. I had it for 2 years (no accidents thanks God), then I sold it last summer. I haven't bought new car yet so in fact it is the only car I've had. :)
A Peugeot 106 1.4
http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost/data/2/83106.jpg (more mods added after this early shot, but never went too far in the ricers world ;)) |
1st car? that would be the 1992 Subaru justy 1.0 GL.....I still remembered that the interior sounded like a 747 when i went past 100Km/h...LOL!!!! can't find any pics of it though...sob....
1981 Vauxhall Chevette 1.3 VYB648W
My first car was this Mini Cooper 1300.
I think it's the best car to learn how to drive! It's like a "big" go-kart! :) http://student.dei.uc.pt/~cbsilva/mini/frente.jpg |
2000 Nissan Xterra w/ 19k miles on it. Pretty sweet truck - I liked driving it around, esp cuz it was in manual.
My first is my current car, Alfa Romeo 75, but for a while during the time I had that car I had a 2nd car (two cars at one time being 17) which really was a POS. I'll get pics, its rather funny. It was a Holden Camira btw. Big home-done Nos logo on the bonnet, flames up the sides, the words "Holden Sucks" accross the back.
1977 MGB...great little car. I didn't drive it for very long, but it was the car I learned to drive manual and it was RWD. Definitely a fun car, and I plan on buying another sometime...:D
My first car is actually my current car. I saved up for it myself from my part time job. Its a 1989 Nissan 240sx coupe. I love it! Manual, RWD and almost 50/50 weight distribution. I just need a sr20 and LSD and it will be perfect! I drive my mom's 2003 Subaru Legacy for the winter which is a blast!
i just got a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, its such a pile. The door locks make some weird noise from hell when pushed, the lift gate doesnt open on its on, the steering shacks at highway speeds, the tranny downshifts and upshifts and downshifts all the time on its on, but then when you want it to downshifts it laughs at you. Yesterday on the highway the thing jerked to the right all of a sudden, and i drive that section of the highway in that lane everyday, and ive never had that happen. BUT it can go off roading.
i had an orange 1963 ford falcon convertable. it was a pretty nice car that my uncle let me drive around for high school. it had a few minor problems but it was certainly cool looking. it had a 260ci V8 but it was still slow.
http://img223.exs.cx/img223/5330/fro...ay015hs.th.jpg ^^^this wasnt mine but it is almost exactly like it save for the color |
1981 Honda Accord Hatchback (5 speed manual)
77hp of pure acceleration! hehe, it felt quick at the time, i guess. it was a reliable little thing, even with having well over 230,000 miles on it. a bit before i sold it the pistons were sticking or something, so it would kill itself on idle, but otherwise never had any flaws. |
oh the good ol days when i had my first car...it was a ML55 and i loved it, spent a lot of time and hear into it...lots of memories...
actually just remembered, my ml55 ain't my first car...it was a porsche go cart...full fuel injected motor with a porsche shell, 3 speed too...dis was wen i was 8 or 9 i think...still have it too!!!
My only car was a Ford Probe in Legoland Windsr :D
A P-Reg Land Rover 300 Tdi, in Dark Green, with the 16" alloys, HUGE tyres, Allard Motorsport Full Width Intercooler, stereo (as always with your first car, the first thing you waste money on!).
Its my dads workhorse now. :D |
91 ford taurus 3.8L automatic.. In paint fading maroon. Cloth interior and 130000 miles to boot.
Honda prelude 1985, bought by my father when I was 2 years old (I was born 1983) For Xmas =) Still have that car and love it (will never get rid of it!)
1995 mazda 626 v6. Was my moms then she gave it to me. http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~ecrawfo1/100_0068.JPG
yikes gigdy, I really winced when I saw that photo. I currently drive a 94 626 V6...
she gave it to you, like that?
1993 Pontiac Sunbird SE. At least it had the optional V6, it was used of course and I drove it into the ground within a few years, we still got 250,000 Km out of it before I blew the engine....this was before i knew that even if its badging indicated sportiness, a sunbird(old sunfire for those outta the loop) has nothing sporty about it....woops  it was peppy when we got it, and slowly but surely got less responsive as I "Drove it like i stole it" heh :D

1989 Toyota Camry
4 speed auto. 0-60: 8.7 sec Top Speed: 110 mph (governed) But it would do 79 mph in 2nd gear :D |
Mine was am 89 Opel Kadett E with 61 Hp. Not to bad, but it was my mothers... c'est la vie
1998 Honda Accord. It was my grandmas and it smelled like smoke.
