I think that for a generic 3 series looking car, it looks pretty good! To bad i don't speak dutch, but i would assume the review is ok seeing its based on the 330. Thanks for the link :)

In Europe car manufacturers have to put those official fuel consumption figures in their brochures etc. Since every officially sold car in Europe has to go through a couple of ECE test cycli to determine their fuel consumption and emissions, this seems to be a nice way to compare the fuel consumption of cars. But in reality those figures are way too low because those test cycli don't ask a lot of power of the engine. They go max up to 120 km/h and have some pretty slow acceleration slopes. So current performant engines aren't really loaded at all during these tests. Hence all the official fuel consumption figures in the brochures are an underestimation of the real fuel consumption.

Same thought here. But if a car is immediatly this good on the eye when you haven't seen much of it yet, it promises to be good. In most cases, a cars looks are an acquired taste. So I think my taste of this car can devellop to love (non sexually speaking :wink: ). Especially with a Coupé version or better yet with the upcoming M3 & M3 CSL.

But they will have to do very good to beat the present CSL. As well speed-wise (it's freaking faster the the GT3RS in the last test I read) as on charisma.

We'll see... in each case, this new BMW 3 promises for some interesting video reviews and comparisons

My brother drive a BMW E46 3er Series and he isn't goeng slow with it! But he always has a average consumption of 8,1 l/100km!!!

120i with 150 hp got 7,3 or somethink like that fuel consumtion, BMw engines are very good in that

Still don't like the styling.

But that engine is pretty amazing though. Glad that BMW has caught up with the rest of the gang in terms of horsepower output. This horsepower war is getting pretty ridiculous.

But I am not complaining =) .

Drove the new 3 series a few days ago. 320d had avg. consumption around 8 litres after 200 kms of qiute fast driving (Valencia to Albacete race track), over 200 km/h on highway and 100-150 km/h on normal roads (except in towns), so the comnsumption is really good. I onnly drove 330i on the racetrack, and its waaay better than old 3-series. Did about 20 laps, destroyed 2 sets of rear tires while driftig :twisted: BMW guys did not seem too annoyed, though, bud they did give me a warning (and cut one of the runs to just 2 laps) after i pot a rear wheel on the grass briefly :oops: ...
Albacette is a great track for throwing the car around, all mediium fast corners (I'd say 100-140 km/h corners except two), but lacks consecutive corners (only has one quite fast chichane). 258 engine is great on the road (I guess, because it's also great on the track), cons. on track was around 25-30 litres ... :twisted:
Finally got used to Active Steering (couldn't drift 645 properly because of it, I guess it was lack of driving time), saves you from spinning the wheel all the time...
I'm still not convinced about the looks, but it looks better "live" than in photos. On the inside it still qiute cramped, as the last 3 Series (sportnig, they say at the BMW, and interestingly the interior shape is very similar to the old 3 Series) but driving position is great (seats lack some side support, though, go for sport seats), and in the back two small ones will survive. Trunk is a bit biggrer and overall all the materials are better.
But whio cares, as long as it goes properly ...

Yea they do. The S-Class gets maybe 2-3 gallons less per mile than a 7 series.

Very nice cars, except for the exterior size, that is a little too big.. and the rear lights, that look quite strange.
But well... they had to leave something to do for the restyling in 2007!
