Looks like its not a new supra afterall! Its infact a.......

Its a supercar from Lexus! What we all thought was the new supra is not a supra after all!

are you refferring to this?

http://forums.autoweek.com/servlet/J...LF-A-Supra.bmp

if so, I think it looks alright :|

FPVPSI 01-09-2005 10:07 PM

wow..what a radical looking machine, but i like it... 8) ...the sharp styling is nice and the performance is going to be electrifying, thats if it gets to production in the first place...

black_magician 01-09-2005 10:08 PM

talk about small mirrors :|

Yup thats it all right!

Chaos in 1983! 01-09-2005 10:17 PM

they're probably not mirros, but cameras...which IMO would never work, but they've been included in several prototypes...

About this lexus, IMO the front looks nasty...the rest is quite ok, I like the sharp edges...

tigerx 01-09-2005 10:21 PM

that's is probably one of the most vulgar concept i've seen lol. look at the fan at the rear, LMFAO. look at the "mirror" LMFAO. look at the exhaust ROLMFAO.

findleybeast 01-09-2005 10:43 PM

well it could still be considered the successor to the supra, despite a lexus badge. I think it looks like it could be a great car, but it needs a lot of re-styling in my opinion. It's way too over the top at the moment.
Btw where is the engine supposed to be mounted? I read a long time ago that it was going to be mid-engined, but the nose is so long in this one that I would find it hard to believe it isn't in the front.

goddamn that's fugly, it has no flow and the lines all contradict eachother, and what's with the back end, looks like its about a foot taller than the front. This car needs to be way lower and way wider.

possessed_beaver 01-10-2005 12:45 AM

i don't think it's that bad looking.

just hope it has alot of power, despite the emision regulations.

and also alot of aftermarket potentiol.. *dreams*

cooling fans for the radiator(s) i think... but i think the air inlet is large enough the substantially cool the car with a rear based radiator... of course, im probobly wrong, since porsche had done it for quite some time.

anyway, those fans bring the air already in the engine compartment, and force it through the rear for a lower drag coeficient... and lower overall weight (no need for long plumbing tubes) im not sure about weight distrabution, but i imagine it would be 60/40 or so. i might expect 911-ish handling, which may make for a good ring car. the car appears to also have a flat underbody with a good 360 style difuser. perhaps to be the best car from Japan since the original NSX.

personally, im not into the looks of this car, but kudos if the go ahead iwth the production of it 8)

Fleischmann 01-10-2005 02:38 AM

The front air intakes remind me of the new Noble M14. If that's how the company sees it's future then RIP.

Fugly :(

if you say so

honestly, the Skyline seemed to heavy to be in contention in that car's range... not to mention the styling (to me) is much more bland.
oh, and the NSX is ~still here... where is the skyline? oh, its now a 350z...

and to bring further truth in the IMO area... ill take a scuby WRX STi anyday... but its really not quite in the same group as the NSX, but the Skyline is more like the scuby... but more powerful...

so, i guess ill just say... mostly bland cars in japan... but for some reason, i really love the STi as much as many of my favorite cars...

mv 01-10-2005 10:32 AM

Nothing exquisite as regards the exterior but the interior is almost flawless.

adamwich 01-10-2005 10:37 AM

The back of the car looks really cool!

ikon2003 01-10-2005 10:42 AM

That is pretty crazy looking, but it has lot a potential. Check those exhausts out - never seen that before.

Is it supposed to have a straight six engine like the old supra (or current IS300) or get some bigger more supercar engine?

tekwar 01-10-2005 10:50 AM

that car looks real strange. the front lights look really puny. Futuristic but strange....

the skyline isen't a 350z the 350z is basicley a new version of the 300zx, most 300zx's had 2 seats, so does the 350z...

where is the skyline now, well they recientley made another production run of them, the 2nd last production after celebrating it's record braking lap time at "the ring"

skyline isen't that much like a scooby skyline has .6 more L more advanced AWD system, twin turbo setup, and a inline 6 engine...

but at the end of the day it's you're personal opinion..
just rember the 350z and the skyline have one thing in common..
they are made by nissan.. and thats basicley it.

The skyline isnt the 350Z its the Infiniti G35. The NSX looks good IMO but the Skyline is better performancewice. Sti is good but looks liky my dog's balls.

have you by any chance DRIVEN a skyline? until then, do well to, uh, not be so ignorant. thank you. have a nice day.

:EDIT: oh, and if the skyline's styling is bland, which it isnt, at least it doesnt look like the arse end of cow. AND the RB26 has much more potential for power than the wrx's four cyl. the highest ive seen out of them is 1400 HP. thanx again. :D

LOL - I meant the triangular design. (And yes, i find the Zonda's exhasts to be one of the best looking designs in existance.)

The closest I've seen is on the Fuora Black Jag, I believe, which uses two exhaust pipes that are shaped so that the whole thing looks like one triange.

but 3 round exhaust pipes in a triangular fashion - odd - one pipe per 2 banks (assuming straight six)???
