Best Sounding Ferrari
 

Sorry if this is a repost... In your opinion, what is the best sounding Ferrari of all time?

My vote goes to the 355 F1 Berlinetta :D

well i dont think there is such thing as one. I believe each car has its own best sound. I dont think a 355 that sounded exactly like an F50 would be right, I dont think a 360 that sounded like a 355 would be right, I dont think an Enzo that sounded like a GTO would be right etc etc.

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but in any case I'd say the 360CS is the best sounding Ferrari :D

My personal favorites: 355, 360 CS, F50, Enzo, 430, 512 TR and the F1 cars to name just a few....

Oh yes, now I can rant about good sounding Ferraris :mrgreen:

Not the 355 F1, it makes a fart noise when shifting. The 355 is definately the best sounding modern one.

Let's not forget other modern Ferraris with a great noise though, 360, Testarossa, F40, F50, 348, 550...

When I was at Spa last year during the Ferrari Days I've seen loads of classic racing Ferraris too. There was this old 250 TdF (Tour de France). It made the most fabulous noise I've ever heard. I loads of videos of it, and every pass I was stunned with its sound. The 250 SWB's and 250 GTO sounded pretty damn good as well.

Just wish I could get those vids online somewhere, ah well for now you can contact me on MSN...

That's a great question, but not one for which an answer can be given easily! I love the noise of the classic 250's, but for the modern Ferrari's, it would have to be the 355 or the 360CS :twisted:

Modern Ones:
1st place 360CS
2nd Enzo+F430 (tied)

Classics:
250GTO

Hmm.. It's a hard question. I think the Challenge Stradale or the F430 is the best sounding Ferrari. I can't choose between them :P

For me, the F430 is second to none as it is not merely as screamy as the previous cars.

It has to be the 360 Challenge Stradale. :o

I think it is a toss up between the F50 and the 360cs. They are both amazing~!!

Hrm... interesting how (almost) everyone seems to prefer the modern day V8 sound to the modern day V12 (550, 575, Enzo...)

No way the 8's are better, listen to an F50 lol i dont even got words to describe and ive never even heard one in person, when stock i dont think there is any Ferrari well at least in the last 10 or 20 years thats as loud and crazy sounding as an F50. But crazy and loud doesnt necceserilly mean the best sounding.

f355 is really sounds good

From personal experience I'd say either F355 or 575. Haven't heard too many though so I don't have much to choose from.

Me neither, my personal experience doesnt span very far either, as i've only heard the 355,360, and 550 in person. And dont get me wrong, i absolutely love the crazy loud sound the F series cars produce (and im sure they are much better in person), i just like the more refined tune of the Ferrari V8 a little more is all.

The 355 sounds pretty awesome. Better than the newer cars. The vids of jabbas with the tubi were pretty awesome.

I personally have heard all these in person, in anger, and they are in order of best to least best;

1) Enzo
2) 512 with tubi
3) F50
4) 330TRi
5) 550 Maranello
6) 365GTB/4
7) 360CS
8 ) F40 with tubi (I think)
9) 360 with race-pipes
10) 355 with race-pipes

To me the V12s sound MUCH better than the V8s...you guys are nuts if you think a 355 sounds better than the Enzo...the V8s just can't compare, especially when you hear them back-to-back in person! :P

The turbo cars (288GTO & F40) sound really weak unless they have almost no mufflers...and they are having the crap beat out of them. :D

The Enzo sounds amazing in person...the best of any Ferrari I have heard...its quiet until full throttle, but damn does it rip through the air at full tilt. :twisted:

All Ferraris? Then i choose F1. That sound....

Road legal: F50 sounds really good (slightly more gutteral than Enzo IMO from video comparison)

^- I don't think I could put up with the sound of an F1 car on a daily drive... the V12 from the 575M or the V8 from the 355 on the other hand... mmmm

Well the only Ferrari's that i have actually heard are Ferrari 355 and Ferrari 360 :cry: . So keeping that in mind, to vote for me is pretty simple....The 355 :D ...but from the videos the 360 CS sounds pretty menacing...and thats what i like :wink: 0X

No, def not for a daily drive. Many ppl would struggle tolerating a Roaring enzo on a daily basis. But for sheer expression of brute power, unbridled speed and technological mastery - still going with that high revving F1.

F50, it sound just like a ferrari should in my opinion, but I would also accept 360 CS as a close second

F50 and 355 Challenge for me.......

Choosing from the cars I've heard in person I would say these ones sound the best:

- 250 SWB Competizione
- 333 SP
- V12 F1-car from early '90s

F355 and 360 Modena also sound great but nowhere near as beautiful as the V12 cars. I think that most people who choose the F355 or 360 have never heard the V12 Ferrari's in person.

Never heard it IRL but I think an F50 would also be very high up my list, especially the F50 GT...

Must i remind you all that the best sounding Ferrari of all time is the F50 GT1. Just to back me up here are the videos of the track day with the GT1 making itself know, does anyone know if they're making an Enzo GT1?

^ I highly doubt it. For GT racing purposes there's the Maserati MC12, which is very strongly based on the Enzo, so there's no need for an Enzo GT.

I would say 360CS.... even though that's the only one I've heard in person. I heard it get fired up at Ferrari of Denver inside the building. It's a completely glassed in building and they opened one bay of the doors to let the CS through... he revved and it sounded amazing being inside a closed area with it!!!

I love the sound of the Dino. But the best sound is a 250GTO. I saw them at the Monterey Historic races.

^^^Yeah those GTOs at the races sounded great

I'm afraid that I only heard a few Ferraris also. I say the 360CS is quite a screamer.
