drbgt3 01-10-2005 02:17 AM

Looks like a Ferrari Dino Race Car

ikon2003 01-10-2005 11:02 AM

I agree w/ Ferrari part, though beyond that I have no idea...
weird perforations in the hood too.

gucom 01-10-2005 11:30 AM

yeah i think its a modified dino of some sort

DUNKiNUTS 01-10-2005 05:56 PM

Its looks like a early to mid 60s Ferrari 250

Daggernite 01-10-2005 05:57 PM

Im pretty sure its a ferrari, but it looks a little thin for a dino, even tho it does look like one.

Blip 01-10-2005 06:22 PM

Please dont insult a sublime Dino. This is some bastard child of some plastic kit car.

inso 01-16-2005 06:26 AM

i bet it is some kind of kit car that is based on an old beetle. there are few of those here in finland.

ibetipsy 01-17-2005 10:36 PM

ooooo i know

1976 Ferrari MISTAKE

worst car ever, excuse me im gonna go blind myself

mclaren_Gt 01-17-2005 10:41 PM

mmmmmmmm i never seen this car before, but i thinks is didnt a ferrari, i will search info =)

africanmojo 01-18-2005 12:09 AM

i think it is one of two things a kit on a datsun or on an old beetle. i have seen some of those around and actually follow one similar to the shape of this and it was a kit on a beetle. but definetly not a ferrari. just found out they used to put kits on old celica's so it could be one of them

numerouno 01-18-2005 07:57 AM

Defo not a Ferrari!!! it may be a stupid replica kit or something like that

gandalf71 01-18-2005 02:30 PM

Looks like a Fiberfab Bonito to me...a 70´s VW based Kit Car.

Mr.T 07-21-2005 06:28 AM

I recently spotted it again 2 and a half years later in the exact same spot on the Gold Coast. :o
It's a Royale Sabre kit car.

So you've been on the GC lately huh? How did you find out it was a Royal Sabre....did you meet the owner?

Yeah, got back a few days ago. :)
I didn't meet the owner; there were Royale Sabre badges on it.

Wow, I haven't posted for quite some time.

yeah long enough to miss out on the news of my rides in a Ferrari 328 GTS and Lotus Elise.

Its good your back, we've had a lack of Perth members since possessed_beaver and enigmatic have both been pretty quiet lately.

The car, perhaps the same car was featured in one of the free booklets given out at the Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance 2005.

It's a Porsche 914 with a 6 cyl 911 engine and kit car fiberglass body.

It recently sold at auction for somewhere around $20,000 which is a lot for that odd creation.

I'll try to scan the caption/article and post it soon.

PM me if I forget to. :)

kach22i 08-09-2005 09:00 AM

Upon closer inspection that might be a Kelmark GT, look it up if you want.

Here it is, not $20,000 only $7,000...............I paid $7,000 for my 911, okay so it needed some work too.

You will find in one of my previous posts in this topic I discovered what the car was.
It's a Royale Sabre kit car.

Maybe I was using the wrong spelling or something, but all the Royale Sabre kit cars I've seen posted on the Internet are of quality Jaguar and MG knock offs.

I have not yet found when or when they produced a mid engined model.

I think there are other 914 Porsche based kit cars, I think this Royale Sabre is one of them.

I'm interested in a link if anyone finds one. I doubt anyone would falsely badge this car, I just want to know the story behind the machine at this point.

The lines (shape and form at any angle) on this car are better than most kit cars - nice car.
