Alfa GT Coupe

Yesterday was a good day.

I took alot of pictures in a few different places.
The car was only a 1.9 diesel with 150 or so hp, but it pulled suprisingly well from about 2k rpm to 3.3k rpm.

It handles quite nice. The nose feels just a bit heavy, but overall
the car handles and feels great.
Breaks are also good, but after few minutes of chasing the civic type r, they start to fade, naturaly.

I had the car from 8am to 4pm. Did about 200 km's.
Top speed a little over 210 kmh. Did that in germany if the cops sre reading this

Don't even get me started with the styling part. The car is sooo good looking. Chicks dig it.

Seats hug you just like your grandmother. I actually felt the "buckets" could be a bit bigger. But if you're skinny, you should fit perfectly

There is room in the back seats, but let me just say, that when I sat in them, I felt really big and I'm only 176 cm.

Anyway, enough talking.

The forst "photoshoot" location was by a near by castle.

Last but not least...

A bonus you probably didn't expect.

These two cars couldn't be more different, but both are fun, good to drive - each in it's own way.

One the Italian diva, othe the Japaneese pocket rocket.
One low reving the other high.

Honda is very stiff and extremley sporty, the Alfa is more relaxed but can go fast arround corners if driven correctly.

Enjoy the pics.

Any comments are welcome. Good or bad. So don't be shy. Thx!

dingo 11-12-2004 07:37 AM

I don't think you'll get many bad comments, a sexy little car and some really sensational photos...well done. :D
Who owns the Honda?

TT 11-12-2004 07:38 AM

Great pics of a sweet car I always liked since it was first unveiled! Thanks! I saved many of them!

I may have missed something in your previous topics, but was this a testdrive from a dealership, a rental or what?

dropot2 11-12-2004 07:39 AM

Very artistic pics there! And obviously the car also helps to make photos even better with its marvellous design :D

komotar 11-12-2004 07:40 AM

Testdrive from the dealership.

You guys are fast!

dingo 11-12-2004 07:50 AM

You've inspired me to get myself a rental for a day.....looking in the Yellow Pages now to see whats available and for how much. I think I might reward myself after the exams with a drive down south in maybe a 350Z or something similar. :D

dingo 11-12-2004 07:56 AM

you can bet on it....if I do it there will be pics for sure of course. :D

Wutputt 11-12-2004 10:48 AM

Wow, a whole bunch of pics of a very sweet car. I really like the GT. I most like the pics taken at the castle. The colour combination of the red Alfa, the green grass and the light coloured castle and ground is really nice. And of course I like the detailed pics, but you could already have guessed that ;)

maxbg 11-12-2004 11:09 AM

Ha.. Looks like you've been bitten by the serpent too.

Enjoy your drive !!!!

Attie 11-12-2004 11:24 AM

I forgot to answer.

My good friend and neighbor owns that Honda.

I posted some pics of it about two weeks ago.

The topics name is "my friend's civic type R", or something like that.

sikx5 11-12-2004 06:56 PM

davide 11-12-2004 07:14 PM

I could easily use the ones with the forrest and the car but the pictures are too blurry. Otherwise, very nice picture, the scenery is lovely.

nejcdolinsek 11-13-2004 05:55 AM

Hey Nejc.

All the locations are 3 min away from my house.

I live in a small village 23 km out of ljubljana. It lies by the main road halfway between Ljubljana and Trojane.

The castle was a home to a very known Slovenian writer Janko Kersnik, wich I'm sure you heard of....

The "drevored"(don't know the english word for this, but you'll understand  ) starts a few feet away form the castle and it's one of the oldest in Slovenia. Much older that the castle itself.

I get test drives by actually not telling the truth wich makes me a bad boy.
Well it's not as bad as it sounds, I basicly tell them I wanna buy the car.
But I allways try to take as little of the salesman's time as possible.

I am not braking the law, I'm "bending" the truth.
It just hurts so bad that all the dealerships have sooo many cars and not to use the chance to drive them would be a crime.

I'll tell you more about the rx8 next week.

Oh, thx for the comments. To all of you.

EnzoLover 11-13-2004 11:24 AM

Good photos :D

1zippo1 11-13-2004 03:32 PM

good story about one of my current favorite cars. You're right about the styling, it's gorgeous. Never expected a car like this from Alfa. And I believe you if you say it's nice to drive. Most reviewers said that the chassis was good, but just not as good as some other sporty rivals (like the 320Cd). I wish I will once own an Alfa GT like this.

2 remarks though, red isn't the best colour for it IMO. It looks great in dark blue and superb in black. Maybe dark grey would be cool, but never seen one like that. And one other thing, the rims are nice, but I would opt for just an inch or maybe two bigger then the standard 16 inchers.

360modena 11-14-2004 05:58 PM

Good job komotar, I'm saving everything! I have to admit first I didn't like very much that car (may be because of Bertone design, I don't know...) but now I really love it. And much more since I try it saturday.
I was with a friend at the local Alfa reseller and we were starting going out the car when a seller we know came with the keys. First I hesitate thinking "oh my god it's the only one and it's a diesel! shiiiiitttttt!!!!!" (everyone that ever tryed a twinsparks engine will understand why :D ) then my friends didn't. So after some miles and hot curves and breaking, no hesitation it's a very very good Alfa (like each others).

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...arjabbasig.jpg
that's exactly what I feel when I watch an alfa :D

Attie 11-15-2004 06:57 AM

Is it supplied with Alfatex? I like that upholstery :)
