Dingo's collection (August 30 - Ferrari F430)
This is my (small) collection of 1:18 models, will be getting another 1 or maybe 2 on Friday. I’m not sure whether to go for the ‘cheaper’ models like Hot Wheels and Maisto or go for AutoArt….which cost about double as much, what do you guy’s suggest?
The pics aren’t the greatest but you get the general idea. :D My shitty attempt at making them look life size in an outdoor environment: Carrera GT http://img95.exs.cx/img95/8137/CGT.th.jpg http://img95.exs.cx/img95/8568/CGT1.th.jpg Enzo: http://img95.exs.cx/img95/9145/Enzo.th.jpg http://img95.exs.cx/img95/4374/Enzo1.th.jpg Then my parents cat (shot these at their house last weekend) decided to join in on the fun: http://img95.exs.cx/img95/7452/cat6.jpg Maisto F50: http://img100.exs.cx/img100/7576/F501.th.jpg http://img95.exs.cx/img95/6872/F50.th.jpg Diablo SE30 Jota: http://img100.exs.cx/img100/6755/SE30Jota.th.jpg http://img100.exs.cx/img100/7811/SE30Jota1.th.jpg Murcielago: http://img100.exs.cx/img100/1783/Murcielago1.th.jpg http://img100.exs.cx/img100/3733/Murcielago2.th.jpg http://img100.exs.cx/img100/6214/Murcielago.th.jpg And finally a group shot: http://img100.exs.cx/img100/4797/group5.th.jpg |
The pics outside are nice! And cars are sooo funny :D they seem to always pop up when you take pics of something :D
As for the Hotwheels vs Autoart question, my suggestion is to go with Autoart or Kyosho.. sure with the same model you could buy 2x or even 3x cheaper ones, but I'd rather have a single good model than 3 not-so-good ones :D |
ur carrera gt and enzo are really nice

Dingo22 Ill tell you what i believe. Its better to have 1 high quality model rather than having 2/3 Hot Wheels/Buraggo/Maisto quality models. And its even better to save money for a couple of handbuilts(1/43 scale).. They may cost a lot, but handbuilts give you a different kind of pleasure when you collect them. So id suggest you to save your money and buy Autoart/Kyosho 1:18 models. With this way your collection is going to be smaller but richer.

Thanks for your thoughts TT and Mr. Vercetti, I think I will try and stay with Autoart.....none of the shops around here seem to have any Kyosho models. :?
I would really like to get an extensive Ferrari collection though, but Autoart doesn't make them so for the Ferrari's I'm stuck with Maisto/Buraggo. :( |

Or try BBR, Technomodel, MR, etc... 1/43 scale.
check these sites: www.karmodels.com www.gasolinemodels.com www.miniwerks.com www.bbrmodels.it |
Thanks man, but I really prefer to get 1:18 scale models.
|
|
LOOK ITS CATZILLA!!! lol nice i love the F50
|
Lovely pics dingo ... very cool!
|
Nice picss man, Esp the f50. But got the Autoart, the extra detail is worth it! 8)
|
Thanks guys, got myself an AutoArt 1:18 Gallardo today.....very nice. :D I compared it with a Maisto side by side and its just so much nicer, especially the interior which even has the floor mats/carpet. :D The only problem with it is that the engine cover doesn't seem to stay open by itself, which is a shame. :(
I will get some pics of it on the weekend hopefully. I actually noticed the shop does have some Kyosho models, but not many. They have a couple of very nice Countach's, then there is an AutoArt M3 CSL and Miura in orange which I also want. :P |
The Autoart CSL i have it, if you like to see it : http://www.ibiza.gr/gallery/miniatures
Lambo Gallardo by Autoart <--- A fine choice indeed m8. |
Here are a few pics of my new 1:18 Autoart Lamborghini Gallardo, haven’t stopped looking at it since I bought it. :D

Ohh the Gallardo has great attention to detail...Autoart seem to make some of the best out there...Time to start my own collection... :D ...ohh and i love ya parents cat...im such a sucker for the furry things...
|
Thanks, i absolutely love the Gallardo. :D
As for the cat, he might not be the best looking cat but he's like a little baby with them....he will sleep anywhere (in the cupboard, cardboard boxes, tables, and the cook top in the kitchen). :D |
damn i love the Gallardo we might need a custom shot  :D
|
^ I'd love too, but it didn't come with a owners manual or key.
|
nice purchase,a few Auto art gallardos in everyones collection on JW now,i love mine in the orange colour, its fantastic
|
Very nice Gallardo! I have a yellow Autoart Gallardo too but it's the smaller sister :D
|
This is the 1:18 Kyosho Lamborghini Countach LP500S I bought today, it joins my Diablo, Murcielago and Gallardo. I am very happy with the detail of the car, it even has pop-up headlights which is very nice. J

hahahaha thats pretty nice, you need a lm just for the hell of it too 8)
|
^ I think I'll skip on the LM, not worth my money IMO. :)
|
Lovely car!

This is a 1/24 scale Ferrari 348tb I got off a friend for free, so I wasn't going to refuse it even though its nothing special:
http://img94.exs.cx/img94/1703/348tb.jpg http://img94.exs.cx/img94/7038/348tb1.jpg and a new display shelf for my (still small) collection, was made by my dad who is a bit of a wizard in making things. Its obviously not as good as something you'd buy from the shops, but once again this was cheap and it does the job very well. The dimensions are roughly 1.2m x 0.6m.....and should house between 20-30 cars (1:18 ) depending on how I position them. :D I've only taken I pic and its hard to get a good one in this room, its a darkish room and with the lights on there is lots of reflections....but gives you an idea: http://img94.exs.cx/img94/2959/shelf1.jpg |
Nice 348 and great display :D but with 1:18 cars it won't take too much untill it will be full :P
|
I know....thats a bit of a problem, will cross that bridge when I get to it as they say. :D
|
Awesome Display cabinet dude, I just looked on the other page.
I just recived my first models i bought of ebay, :P and stoked, i want more...LOL |
Thanks mate.....what models did you get and what scale?
|
very nice cabinet,it looks great to display the models.id get your dad to start makin another one now coz it wont be long till you need another one,lol
|
well making this one caused enough grief for him, so asking for another one could be stretching the father-son bond.....LOL. :D I can still fit at least another 12 models in there, but since I just started working 40hrs/week I have a feeling I know where the extra cash will go. :)
|
Here are a few new pics of my Autoart 1:18 Gallardo, inspired by TT (and his hints)….I think they turned out ok but could be better, the background doesn’t look completely black even though it is.
http://img92.exs.cx/img92/316/DSCF1907.jpg http://img92.exs.cx/img92/3810/DSCF1913.jpg http://img92.exs.cx/img92/3774/DSCF1915.jpg I might try the same with some of my other models during the week. |
They are nice, I think scale models looks cool on wood :D
|
My two newest additions, I was only planning on getting the Testarossa but as I was walking towards the cashier I caught the BMW out the corner of my eye and couldn’t stop myself from buying it. :D
So here they are: 1:18 Hot Wheels Testarossa, doesn’t look to bad for a HW model :) http://img34.exs.cx/img34/3434/dscf21785qm.jpg http://img34.exs.cx/img34/2987/dscf21776jm.jpg 1:18 Minichamps BMW M3 GTR Street/Strasse, this thing looks brutal…and very nicely detailed. Does anyone else here have the same model, because if you do I have a question about it? http://img34.exs.cx/img34/2092/dscf22015ma.jpg http://img34.exs.cx/img34/8209/dscf22002zd.jpg http://img34.exs.cx/img34/2245/dscf22027rx.jpg http://img34.exs.cx/img34/246/dscf21715fn.jpg And the happy couple together: http://img34.exs.cx/img34/7725/dscf21922ew.jpg |
Great couple!!!!!!!
I almost bought the GTR myself some time ago!!! |
Quote:
http://img35.exs.cx/img35/4582/m3gtr...ront7oy.th.jpg i guess thats me,lol so whats your question? |
Quote:
Quote:
|
hmmm i never had that problem, the bonnet is ok,only thing stupid with it is the dam thing wont stay open on its own,LOL
i gotta say,in red it looks great |
Quote:
|
LOL now that i remember my M3 CSL has that problem, once you open it you cant close it without force,LOL
have you also realised the GTR model itself weighs a god dam ton,LOL |
Quote:
|
lol, quite heavy for a model, especially considering the weight of other 1:18 models.my supra also is pretty dam heavy, maybe even the same as the M3 GTR,but my RX7 weighs pretty much nuthing,LOL
|
wow, 1,19kg  . and I thought my Tuscan S is heavier, so I did the weight test  ..... 0,85 kg and thats quite heavy for me... god....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...R-Tuscan-S.jpg |
it is very heavy, I'm not really sure exactly what on the car it is that weighs so much.....but I like it when they are heavy. :D
|
I try to stick with 1:18 models but I saw these two (1:24) and they were really cheap so I couldn't resist. They are obviously not the most detailed models out there but for $12 you can't ask much, and I really wanted a Zonda. :D
Zonda: http://img96.exs.cx/img96/6900/zondac120yf.jpg http://img96.exs.cx/img96/6393/zondac1213ge.jpg http://img96.exs.cx/img96/7724/zondac1227hc.jpg 456GT: http://img96.exs.cx/img96/6664/456gt6cj.jpg http://img96.exs.cx/img96/8443/456gt18lk.jpg http://img96.exs.cx/img96/9739/456gt29bu.jpg |
They are pretty nice indeed, and it's very difficult to stick to one size only :D I know it :D
|
i try to be firm on the size because then the cars wouldnt match but in the case of that Zonda i think it will slide
|
nice models,i like the zonda.so far i managed to stick to 1:18,but the effects of doin so are now showing,LOL
|
well I went there planning on getting a 1:18 Ferrari (355 or F40) but once I saw the Zonda I didn't have enough $$$ to get the 1:18 aswell. I had a feeling the Zonda would feel scared amongst all the bigger models so I got him a buddy in the 456GT :P
