What is your favorite watch?

For me it would have to be the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with the black face.

I love this watch, looks killer with a black band.. There are a few other brands like Breitling and Tag that that i also think look great. would love to see some pics of these.. :P do you know how much that Rolex goes for DaneilW?

DanielW 10-18-2004 03:20 AM

anywhere from 6-10 grand (8,000-13,000AUD) :? looks like i will need to save a bit before i get one.

Ghostbat 10-18-2004 03:46 AM

Nice watch that Rolex but I prefer Breitling. I think Rolex is a little more for older dudes. My personal favourite is the Breitling Chronomat series.

Think Tiff has a Breitling from the Navitimer series btw.

chipanggo 10-18-2004 04:38 AM

I will never understand adults wearing kids' watches. Maybe it means we're all kids in different stages.

Hey, Snap!! Is yours a quartz or continuous drive? Mines continuous, got it for my 21st, very happy with it. I wear a seiko day to day.

jon_s 10-18-2004 05:09 PM

I know someone who wears a Jacob & Co every day!! :?

This was my old watch, and is still my personal favorite: (not an actual pic of my watch)

Definitely the Tag Heuer Carrera does it for me...

The one pictured is the twin time, but any of the versions look great...It's simple, yet beautiful as hell!

LOL I am definitely still a kid at heart

However I bought it for the functionality (which I never use)

SilviaEvo 10-18-2004 07:54 PM

I'd like to have a Daytona as well nothing to blingy but it would be cool to have a Platinum watch

PaulGT2164 10-18-2004 08:19 PM

i dont like to spend alot of cash on watches, but i like my good old citizen i bought real cheap when a place went outta business lol

as far as expensive watches i like the tags and the less blingbling watches, simplicity is more my style

BADMIHAI 10-18-2004 09:31 PM

While the Tag might be my favourite watch, I also adore the simplicity and "honesty" of this relatively cheap watch:
http://img6.exs.cx/img6/5296/829_2932.th.jpg

It's very comfortable to wear and VERY accurate. I also like the fact that I don't have to worry about banging it or having it stolen (although I've had it for about four years and I am very attached to it).

A. Lange & Sohne IMO make superior watches to rolex.

I have a $500 seiko kinetic, i think their innovation is great ;)

DanielW 10-19-2004 08:53 AM

There really is no innovation in the Seiko Kinetic movement. All Automatic movement watches, use kinetic energy to wind the watch.

i guess your right, still a nice watch though ;)

Although theres no disputing A Lange & Sohne make amazing watches

DanielW 10-19-2004 11:21 AM

Indeed they do. A regular person won't even notice if you're wearing one, but a person in the know will spot one right away, and will compliment you on it.

Minacious 10-19-2004 12:48 PM

I don't believe any of you own those watches. I need a custom shot with you licking the face. :D :D :D :D

Seriously though, most of those are some nice watches. I have never really been much of a watch/jewelry person. I leave the fancy jewelry to the woman to pick out, wear and admire. Besides, I couldn't see myself spending anymore than 200 dollars on a watch and these are much more than that. :D

Jabba 10-19-2004 01:36 PM

Who remembers the last time we did a thread about "who wears what watch" ?????

evoWalo 10-19-2004 01:46 PM

i havent worn a watch since i got my celphone. wearing one's a hassle and a risk.

Jabba 10-19-2004 01:50 PM

More people seem to get their phones stolen more than their watches here.

evoWalo 10-19-2004 01:52 PM

true but you cant call or text using your watch.

Jabba 10-19-2004 01:58 PM

And you cant wear a phone on your wrist...or at least not look like an idiot doing so.

T-Bird 10-19-2004 01:58 PM

I like my Fossil watch it's the 3rd one I've got.

the TAG SENNA watch looks good,
http://www.prestigetime.com/images/w...114.ba0550.jpg

but you gotta love the classic www.breitling.com

I wear a good ol swiss army watch everyday.

SPEEDKILLAR 10-19-2004 02:01 PM

I'm watchless, I don't like jewelery, watches, rings and so on......

Never had the need for it, just not interested...

Jabba 10-19-2004 02:03 PM

A repost but what the hell.

The Jabba time piece : Rolex Oyster Submariner...I have hardly ever removed it since getting it 12 years ago.

http://www.supercarshowdown.co.uk/shoot/100.jpg

Toronto 10-19-2004 02:04 PM

^^^ my friend has a Submariner but it is blue and red, not gold.

Jabba 10-19-2004 02:06 PM

Or I think it is known as yellow metal...which is indeed gold.

I do. But this is sort of like a dick measuring contest. As time goes by, things can change.

evoWalo 10-19-2004 02:19 PM

That's the beauty of it. Your phone's not shown all the time so muggers have a lower chance of seeing you have one.

Ah....the beauty of living in the Philipines.

Toronto 10-19-2004 02:33 PM

^^^ what are you complaining about, toronto isn't safe enuf for you?
then move to Washington DC

DanielW 10-19-2004 02:38 PM

Little Tidbit.

Rolex is the only manufacturer that makes their own movement inhouse. All the other swiss companies (TAG Heuer, Omega, Sinn, Fortis, Tissot, Maurice Lacriox, etc) buy their movements from other manufacturers like ETA and Valioux.
