Oct 14, Hummer H1, Maybach, M5, SL.. and a tank

Well, a rainy day.. I thought it could be wasted in Geneva, but, beside the two new scale models I got, I also spotted some nice cars around, here they are :D

Click any of the thumbs to go to my website where you can find all of them (and a couple more) in high-res

My first DB9 for instance.. sadly it was already a bit too dark, I was far away and no time to come closer..

Even harder to shoot this moving DB7, luckily still an acceptable quality IMO

http://www.swisscarsightings.com/ast...0DB7%20004.jpg

A classy M5.. waiting for the E60 next year :D

Vettes are not common but not really RARE... But to spot a Mustang is quite hard!

Uhm.. now for the highlights.. what about an H1??????? This is definitely over the lines for Switzerland!!

http://www.swisscarsightings.com/var...20H1%20003.jpg http://www.swisscarsightings.com/var...20H1%20002.jpg

Maybe too rough for you? Do you prefer a white Maybach? 57 I suppose :)

http://www.swisscarsightings.com/mer...2062%20063.jpg http://www.swisscarsightings.com/mer...2062%20064.jpg

Also got a couple of the usual SL500(s)

http://www.swisscarsightings.com/mer...L500%20015.jpg

Oh, and if the H1 is too soft, what about this??

http://www.swisscarsightings.com/var.../Tank%2001.jpg

Oh, and we also had some minor mudding activity today :D here you can barely see part of the result

Next time ;) but the sound.. ohh the sound.. already in all the vids we saw it is marvellous, but for real, even if only while quietly downshifting to a stop was a dream!

Anyway, the worst/best miss for today was a Gemballa GTR something :? blasting past while I was at a red light :(

T-Bird 10-14-2004 04:59 PM

Holy Crap an H! what does that cost over there? 250,000 USD? here the wagon is between 120-150k USD so that's insane, and the Mustang that's a sight I thought they imported them in parts of Europe officialy? eventhough only the V6 and that seems to be the V8 model.

TT 10-14-2004 05:05 PM

No idea for the Hummer, but for sure you have to indipendently import it and you basically need a whole ship for that LOL :D and such a thing pays thousands of $$$ in taxes since they it pollutes like 10 normal cars :D

T-Bird 10-14-2004 05:09 PM

you don't geta tax break for having a Diesel though?

TT 10-14-2004 05:14 PM

There is no bonus for diesel cars here.. the only bonus I know about it for cars consuming around 3 to 5 liters/100 (and there aren't many... maybe just the Lupo 3L?!)..

Anyway I doubt a 20'000cc diesel could ever hope to pay less taxes than... anything else beside trucks :D

Ford Capri 2.8i 10-14-2004 05:24 PM

hi TT......you took very nice pics as usual...simply the DB9 and DB7 look awesome...thanks to the coincidence with the 6 series (IMO it looks hideous)..the DB9 looks even more awesome alongside the BMW.....the SL looks as awesome as usual......there are other cars which looks pretty and rare as well, such as the black mustang, the white maybach(for me the best looking Maybach that ive seen ever, and quite much better looking than the Phantom IMO)..thanks for the pics TT

Toronto 10-14-2004 05:30 PM

the maybach doesn't look that bad in white, except the back of it.

chest3r 10-14-2004 07:27 PM

I love the Hummer. It's a monster!! :o The ML has giant rims  Where's the tire

dingo 10-15-2004 03:12 AM

Nice pics TT, I love the DB9 obviously....probably none of them here. :( The car behind (645Ci) it ain't to bad either.

aks 10-15-2004 04:38 AM

OMG! a DB9!!!!!! TT, ur my hero!!! it's black as well!!! my mouth is watering!!!

and a white maybach?!?! i guess it's different tho....

Anonymous 10-15-2004 07:39 AM

Nice pics mate, i'm sure you'll track that DB9 down :D  I have to agree with dani, the maybach does look odd in white :) and well that hummer.... if i saw it in my mini i'd be SCARED LOL 4x4 drivers aren't the best at noticing minis in my experience  Oh and do you see many tanks around you... seemed a bit odd where it was parked :? unless i'm blind and missed the explanation......
:D

TT 10-15-2004 07:42 AM

Well, you can see it also in the "mudding" pic .. it is basically a small military area where to shoot and stuff.. it is not really in use, just put there to be.. err... nice?!

LOL Guess you had fun washing your car when you got back!! :D

TT 10-15-2004 07:57 AM

Still didn't wash it.. it is actually still sprayed with various kind of moods, especially the inner part of the rear bumper wich let out now, from time to time, an awfull mix of grass and mud :D like some sort of poo :D

Chingachgook 10-15-2004 07:58 AM

If the rear-window and the rear-door are "in a line" then it's a 57... like this one.

http://img100.exs.cx/img100/3672/579.th.jpg

but if there is no "line", then it's a 62... like in this pic.
http://img100.exs.cx/img100/6889/578.th.jpg

so you got a 62! and a white one - awesome!!!! :D and it's from germany!

btw: it's only registered for one day, so you can feel very lucky for seeing it at the right day...

TT 10-15-2004 08:51 AM

Thanks indeed! Even better!

aOp 10-15-2004 09:06 AM

The DB9 sound is idd amazing, it's IMO better sounding than the DB7 Vantage. I heard them both running and revving at a AM dealership once. I always thought the DB7 Vantage had a godlike sound. But then the mechanics started the DB9 and revved it a bit (unfortunately not that high, max 4000 rpm). But the sound... Wow, it's just unbelievable. It has more grunt than the DB7 Vantage and the sound is, how would I say, more 'harmonious' and 'filled up'. I just can't really describe it, but words like 'amazing', 'awesome', 'godlike', and so on would certainly fit ;)

btw, some nice pics, as always, you've there TT. You don't see a tank on the road every day. You certainly don't want to piss of the driver :D
