lol, i don't think he had enough room to cover Jay Leno's collection!
the man has freakin airplane hangers for his collection, not to mention his own personal mechanic. I think only the Sultan of Bunei has more cars.

FordGTGuy 09-19-2004 04:19 PM

why is it that only the people who can't afford the cars deserve them and the ones that have them just f them up except for jay leno and jeremy clarckson of course.

because the world sux. if you really wanna feel like crap, watch the barret-jackson car auction on SPEED channel

blah 09-19-2004 05:18 PM

Bill Gates had to prove to the uS Govermnet that his 959 would never touch public roads, he has his own track built on his island i believe. Just for his 959, thats how much he loves that car. I dont think he has that many other cars that are really nice.

Jay Leno has about 150 cars, the Sultan of Brunei has around 3,000 ....

and 2999 of those were purchased with "profits" stolen from his countrymen.. :)

The Sultancy is one of the most corrupt institutions on the face of the planet... :)

That's an in-Sult ... geddit :P

ZfrkS62 09-19-2004 06:48 PM

Leno's got the more distinguished collection IMO. Yeah the sultan has 4 F40s but he doesn't have nearly the classic cars that Leno has. besides, Jay drives his cars.

I'm pretty sure he never got it (although he reportedly put a deposite down for one when it was unveiled at the Birmingham Motor Show years ago. As far as I know, there has only been one (or at most, 2) Cerbera Speed 12 built for road use.

nurbrun 09-19-2004 07:13 PM

He was instrumental along with Ralph Lauren to changing the rules so that the Mclaren F1 could be imported into the US without sending thru the drastic Ameritech route. I remember reading that Bill Gates regular driver was a Lexus LS400. He has a couple of Porsches as well apart from the 959.

Seinfeld missing from this list has a lot of Porsches ... dont know if he got the CGT.

T-Bird 09-19-2004 07:59 PM

they really need to update that list. Especially Jay Leno's

Toronto 09-19-2004 08:12 PM

Seinfeld got his car i think?

spyd3rr 09-20-2004 01:50 AM

damn 5 F50's????? one in every color???? and what the hell is a ferrari mythos?? well i googled it and found pcitures but i've never heard of it before.

Bavarias_Finest 09-20-2004 01:55 AM

I didnt realize this was the politcal forum .....

.....3,000 cars compared to 100 some is a big difference, and despite the rareity and distinctness of Jay Leno's collection, by far the Sultan of Brunei has a far superior collection ..... the majority of Jay's cars are historic American autos anyaway .... history is great and all but we all know Europe has put out a better product for the most part, and that is basically the composition of the Sultans collection ....

...plus I lost all respect for Leno when he said "I would rather have a Ford"

The Mythos was a custom car from Ferrari, bought by the Sultan. He probably requested the build of it too

I have no pics at hand, but try searching for the Sultan of Brunei's cars :D

A brief and rather un-illustrious and short lived career.. ;) -- confirming the no idea/desire/ability comment :P

Bavarias_Finest 09-20-2004 05:00 PM

Hey anyone that can put forward $380,000 for a automobile (Maybach) even if it looks like an oversized KIA, is doing something right ...... and making more money that 99% of us.

as did he those 3 or 4 456 estates he had built for him. I'm sure hes had many cars built just for him, lucky bastad ;)

Edit, just realised they're listed. What aren't listed are several CLK GTR's he owns including the convertable version.

I didnt actually realise beckham owns that many cars. I knew he had a fair few but not that many.

I think Jay Kay has a few more than that too

wolfster 09-22-2004 06:45 PM

watch out for the high-rolling cameron diaz in her prius

wolfster 09-22-2004 06:47 PM

props to the sultan's bro...8 mclarens just can't cut it.

He said he would rather have a Ford over what? An Enzo? A Gallardo?
You lost respect for a guy who actually drives his cars, rather than someone who has them holed up in his personal museum somewhere? Because as we all know, cars are only made to be looked at.

Bavarias_Finest 09-23-2004 03:58 AM

Its a respectable point .... still I cherish European automobiles great history over that of America autos tradition anyday ....

bmwmpower 09-27-2004 02:50 PM

nicolas cage - 250 km/hod is great relax
