Forgotten Top Gear Programme?
 

As I recall, Top Gear has not tested some cars that were promised to be featured on last season. What happened? refer to the 2004 Spring season programme #1's preview

??? Ferrari Scaglietti
??? Land Rover Discovery
??? BMW 1-Series

i remember a scalegetti road test, but they didnt do a track test on it.

Cosnidering the images of Scaglietti, 1.Series and Disco seemed shoot at the official press days or seemed official material, they were maybe placed to spice up the intro video or they are scheduled for the Autumn.

has the one series been released yet?

and no the Ferrari Scaglietti hasent posted a track time yet.

I was thinking the exact same thing! I really wanted to hear what they had to say about the 612, but I guess we will have to wait for the next series...

I already saw a couple in Lausanne, filled with stickers like if it was a promotional tour or something... I think it will go on sale in the next weeks.

Yes i think the same , maybe it was just tease material and finally they didnt get the cars to drive , we will get them of course in the autumm , just 2 months to go :D

THe current top gear series has ended, this week is the "best of" episode. It'll be back in autumn.

The reason is very simple. I remember a programme in which Jeremy said that BMW was expecting them to test the new 1-series, but that they decided not to test it. Everybody laughed of course, but without knowing the real reason of it :? .
The scaglietti was tested. Not only in Top Gear but also in Fifth Gear, at the same time as BMW 645 ci. I think it was Richard Hammond the driver.
And the Land Rover Discovery...are you joking? :P . Jeremy has tested and has compared it to the Range Rover (his favourite 4x4).

Yeh I remember that it was really good. Do you remember when the stig got it onto two wheels then jumped over two enzos...damn I forgot to make a hi-res feature of it though.....don't suppose you could remind me which episode of top gear the scaglietti was featured in please ?

No, no! It was three enzos, a slr and a cgt, and it didn't jump long enough, so it crushed the cgt!! Bad memory?

As you will notice I was the person that uploaded that video onto RF...therefore I think its fair to say that I might know which programme its from...and it was of course from fifth gear and NOT top gear as you say.

Very late to see this, But LMAO anyway, it really does amaze me how people still get the two programmes confused :D It even says on the fuckin description 5th Gear tests the 612 Scaglietti :roll:

When TG tests a car, they will write about it in the meg before showing the clips on TV. It's just a matter of patience :)

No idea where you saw that info but if something start the 28 Aug it is just a rerun.. the Autumn season will be.. well.. in Autumn.

According to their website, the new series starts in mid-October.
