be honest, is this rice stuff? **think again-updated pics**
let me know
HKS carbon fiber TI exhaust with 3" downpipe, maybe on a evo 8... looks like this http://www.hksusa.com/images_products/L_2292.jpg http://www.hksusa.com/images_products/L_2061.jpg edit: th eone in the pic is a subaru of course, but i would like to have it on a evo EDIT!!! i must agree with most of you guys, the hks carbon ti exhaust looks kinda ricey. look at this WRX, look: rice but i could keep that idea, so i searched for evo 8 with the exhast, and i found them!!!, and IMO in the evo 8 looks fine and totally cool, but hey thats me, imo doesnt look rice in the 8 2004 WRX http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...22_52_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...22_15_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...22_85_full.jpg 2003 EVO8 http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albu...full.sized.jpg http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albu...full.sized.jpg http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albu...full.sized.jpg http://www.socalevo.net/gallery/albu...full.sized.jpg |

well i dont like it alot, and if ur changing the exaust and u dont eanna b rice its because u want performance and if u want performencce then there is better, and personally i dont like those huge exausts that u can se all the pipes from bhind
|
No it's not :D If it ads hp then it can't be.
Those stickers & spoilers don't add anything and they are rice :D |
Thats not a Evo thats a STi you can tell by the tail lights, or WRX. But why the hell would you want a carbon fiber exhaust?
|
um he stated that it was a Subaru and it's for looks and weight

Well I had two cars so far and on both of them, the first thing was to change the muffler to have a better sound... I don't think it is rice because to have a better sounding car (still into the limits dictated by the law) is not that terrible :D a 6 way muffler is rice because useless, but something like that one is cool in my book! and if it adds a couple of HP, even better.
|
i dont really have a problem with it......on the STi or evo. on a civic, yes its rice but one one of those cars no. even though the sound is associated with rice, i still think its fine.
|
i will add the modifications wanted later today.
i have heard a yoshimura carbon exhaust on a suzuki gsr600 and it sounded really nice, plus like t-bird said, weight  |
Definately not rice if it's on an Evo 8...I used to have the exact catback on my Subaru and it sounded soooo good. Not ricey at all.
|
slightly off topic but someone put a 'rice cop' ticket on my mate's black Integra Type R the other day because of the rear spolier. The car is stock for f**ks sake!!
www.ricecop.com |
wow that means it was a dipshit who doesn't know shit about cars if he gave it to a car with the factory wing on it. what a dipshit.

my man RAMAN, would you be so kind to make more pics of your evo? i LOVE evos now, they are my new love, hehehe.
just wait, and i will post a complete list of mods, that i would like to make to an evo 8  and please leave your comments |

I agree. If the car isn't pushing major power, I think that exhaust is unnecessary (therefore....rice). |
Well, exhaust on an STi or an Evo, if it is a proper turbo exhaust designed for the car, is definitely not rice. I don't know how good that one is, but a good exhaust that is designed for a turbo car (in conjunction with high-flow cats) can actually give pretty good power gains (for exhaust)...so not rice.

People are using the term 'ricer' way too loose these days. |

Yea, a ricer can have a pretty decent car, but its just their attitude and how they dress up the car that makes them ricer or not.
NOT ricer: Example, someone driving a Integra LS, not exactly a fast car, but they have an intake, cams and a new intake manifold, but zero stickers, no wings to be found, no random bits of interior painted to match the exterior color, and probably still stock wheels...and they know their car isn't all that fast, and they don't do a lot of boasting and generally aren't an asshole. Ricer: A ricer could have an RX-7, which is a pretty quick car, but the guy is a total asshole, he has NOS stickers and racing stripes all over the car, and a three foot wing on back. The extent of his mods are universal muffler and maybe some naawwwzzz, but he also has wheels 2" bigger than stock and about 15lbs heavier as well, a sound system that adds 100lbs in all the wrong places, and most important, he thinks he has the greatest car in the world, and no one can beat him, if someone does he always has some bullshit excuse... Just some examples of a ricer and not IMO. |
actually is a 3 inch rc

How much extra power would that silencer/endcan give if the entire system is not enlarged? Or does the can work like the carbon expansion chambers on my TZR250SP? |
who knows im ignorant

Ricer: A "riced" car or one who drives a "riced" car. A Ricer by definition does not have to be a Japanese car, or even an imported car. Any vehicle modified in a flamboyant fashion as to give the illusion of extreme speed, but in fact it is quite slow by almost any standard of true speed performance, and certainly never could go nearly as fast as it looks. |
its not rice, cause changing the way your car sounds is one fo the first things everyone does mod wise, that and HKS makes well performing high quality products, that and a Ti carbon fiber exhaust wieghs alot less than a normal muffler
|
yeah thats a WRX and that is the LOUDEST exhaust you can buy for the subaru. its really fucking loud.

The issue with the rear wing was, that a friend of mine had a 'ricecop' ticket put on his completely stock Honda/Acura Integra Type-R which is a car that has a pretty large rear wing as stock. I just thought it was laughable that some idiot decided his car was a ricer yet it is completely unmodified... Edit - I mean it's like someone putting a ricecop ticket on my Trans Am as it has polished rims, which are part of the WS6 package...doh! |

I still think there is some difference between fake aluminium add ons attached to an original muffler and a cool carbon fiber or at least proper better flowing muffler or complete exhaust system :D if it looks rice it's not its fault LOL.. it because the world is full of tasteless idiots wich are casting a shadow over "proper" tuning :D
|
Lets not forget the ricer driving position- one hand at 12 o'clock on the steering wheel and a raised shoulder.

And my own observation of ricers - an exhaust (muffler) can large enough for hedgehogs to make their homes in... |
no matter what you say its rice, as the tailpipe is twice the diameter of the pipe going to the box, so it isnt doing anything to increase power, but just making the sound louder ;)
|
Ohh and another funny thing is that ricers know absolutly nothing about car mechanics! Nothing.
"Dude" "whats up dude" "my car aint starttinnn" "dude check air filter man" "naahhh man, you think it can be the air filter????*says with a frightend voice* "I think so bro" "aiiint,, lemme poke it" "its not working dude!" "fuck man......send to shop man"....... |

As for the Integra, its a 4 door too, which is even rarer :D . I lied too, its not entirely stock, my dad owned this car since it was new and had to replace the original dual tip muffler. He replaced it with a shitty single tip because it was cheaper. |
maybe you should try the tanabe type exhaust, much better sound and add a little hp's

hmmmm my opinion hasnt changed that much... if u see it from a bigger distance doesnt look that rice, but from up close for me it does look
|
wow looks great in the EVO it fills out the opening well and doesn't show like the Scooby
|
It looks a lot better on the evo than the subaru. It looks almost stock because I can't see the whole thing.
|
yeah looks better on the evo cause the evos cutout is bigger and the exhaust fills it perfectly, the subie doesnt have a big cutout, so it looks like its just dangling out there waiting to be rammed into a parking block

A bit big for my taste. But no, I don't think it is rice.
