your favourite 90s 200bhp car

Once the 90s period was very favourable for the demand, once we had a huge variety of models rounding 200bhp in a cheap way, and the chance to buy a very accomplished car....id like to get your opinion of which cars were your favourites to own or ride during this period...just to remind yourself there you go the list

- Ford Sierra RS Cosworth(2 door 2WD)
- Ford Sierra sappire Cosworth(4 door 2WD)
- Ford Sierra sappire Cosworth 4X4
- BMW M3 E30
- Lancia Delta Integrale 16V
- Opel Omega 3000 24V
- Merc 190E 2.5-16
- Alfa 75 3.0 V6 América
- Renault 21 2l Turbo
- Toyoya Celica GT4
- Subaru Legacy 2.0 Turbo
- Mitsubishi Galant VR4
- Nissan Sunny GTI-R
- Audi S2
- Mazda 323 GTR

Although the Renault and the Mazda got less than 200bhp.......their power amount was near 200bhp, and their performances and efficiency was quite similar to the 200 bhp cars....thats why i decided to add the Renault 21 and the Mazda 323 as well.

Even though the chance to make the decision is very difficult, once the list has a very huge list, and some cars have been the most sportive cars ever.....id like to get your opinion about your favourites cars from this list.........there is no problem if someone chooses two or three cars

Both the Merc 190E 2.5-16 and the Alfa 75 3.0 V6 also produces under 200bhp. They got 195bhp and 185bhp. Both lovely cars though. I got a soft spot for that Cosworth engine in the Merc.

95 mustang gt, 215 hp and 285lbs of torque hehe

Vansquish 07-30-2004 04:17 PM

How about a late 90's Mustang GT...4.6L quad cam with 260bhp and 300-odd lb-ft of torque? For that matter the F-body cars had anywhere from 200-320bhp in that time period too.

IF you're talking handling too, the E30 M3 or Sierra Cossie would be my choice, probably the rear drive version of the cossie for that matter.

SilviaEvo 07-30-2004 09:54 PM

Nissan Skyline GT-R R32. Twin Turbo Inline 6 having 276 BHP 260lb-ft in torque evenly spreading it to all four wheels with ATTESA.

INTEGRALE!

I can't believe that no one's mention it yet! Its one of my favorite cars of all time. I mean, its just so gorgeous and full of intent, and from what I've heard, insanely fast and well handling.

I was going to bring up the Audi Quattro Sport, but it was a mid-to-late eighties concoction.

Z28 08-11-2004 11:56 PM

I would love to drive an RS Cosworth. Why won't Ford produce any good affordable sports cars in the U.S.? All of Ford's best cars are in Europe or Australia. WTF!!!! The 90's Mustangs are a joke.

Yeah, that would be definitely one.

The NSX, the RX-7 turbo. All 280hp.

The E30 M3 definitely.

The US version of the E36 M3, only 240hp.

Porsche Boxter.

capore 08-19-2004 12:32 PM

I would choose the M3 E30 without any doubt. It's not a 6 cylinder engine but it sounds good. It's got rear wheel drive and it's just fantastic as you have oversteer whenever you want (although sometimes it can be dangerous).
My second best car is the Sierra Corsworth, a beast.

Paco 08-19-2004 02:14 PM

Wow, that's a difficult one...

I got a real soft spot for the S2 (preferably with the RS2 engine in the coupé) and the 190 16V, because of its raw power and unfiltered handling. But the Integrale is probably the most iconic and with the most pedigree.

Funny that the 190 16V officially started its life as a rally car, but was then used in the German DTM to compete with the M3 E30. Audi had some Quattro-genes and the Integrale was nothing short of a road legal WRC. The S4 was the coolest.

WhiteP 08-20-2004 03:21 AM

Honda NSX

Nik^XeN 08-20-2004 09:57 AM

Audi S2 defindly!, iluv that car.. :)

crayzayjay 08-21-2004 01:46 PM

The Lancia Integrale Evo ('91-'94) had 210-215bhp turbo 4, and AWD.

It looks nice no other hatch, oozing aggression, and drives like an absolute beast. Just as one would expect from the most successful rally car of all time, WRC champion
