Extension of the Top Gear´s Old vs New car list
 

Once i enjoyed a lot when top gear launched the section of Old vs New in a certain program(a drag race of about a kilometer to see if current cars are faster or not than their predecessors), and, once top gear made a comparison limited to 5 cars (205GTI 1.9 vs 206 GTI 180, Nissan 300ZX Biturbo vs Nissan 350Z, Ford Focus RS vs Ford Escort Cosworth, new Toyota MR2 vs old Toyota MR2, VW Golf GTI MkI vs Golf GTI MkIV)...id like to get how member will extend this list...

In my opinion id get the following list

-Ford Sierra RS Cosworth vs Ford Focus RS(once the Escort won easily the focus, once the traction is very important for having a good acceleration)
-Renault 5 GT Turbo 120bhp vs Renault Clio RS
-Ferrari F40 vs Enzo
-Ferrari 288GTO vs 360 Challenge Stradale
-Vauxhall XJ220 vs Opel Calibra Turbo

Vauxhall made a VX220 and VX220 Turbo and the VXR (220?)...the Jaguar XJ220 would walk all over the Calibra, no matter what you'd done to it hehe.

I like your Ferrari comparisons, another one would be the Testarossa vs 575M.

And the R5 Turbo should fight the Clio V6 ;)

Let's not exagerate. With enough money, you can make any car beat the XJ220. :lol:

I don't know about that, I think the appropriate comparison would be the Daytona vs. the 550 or 575...that way at least the configuration is correct.

about the mazda rx7 vs. rx8, the rx7 is fully a sport car and the rx8 is a sport saloon, plus the rx7 is still alive isn't it? mazda suppose to come out wit a new one.

RX7 owns RX8. :twisted:

again, the RX8 isn't a full sport cars!!! they're in different classes. the rx8 is good at areas that the rx7 isn't and vice versa.

The did the GTO comparison in the Speed Channel Test Drive. Yes, the new one won by a huge margin.

I want to see the Ford GT vs. GT40 too!

Sorry for the ortographical mistake, naturally the comparison that i wanted to do earlier was the Vauxhall VX220 against the Calibra, not the jag XJ220 because obviously it doesnt make any sense to compare it against a calibra
