These pictures are very rare, and any information on the cars and scale of this collection is scarce, so i am glad you have shared this 8)

I've got an article about his younger brother Jifri/Jefri. Will try to dig it up.

He is actually the one with a penchant for fast cars, big boys toys and women. There was a garage sale a few years ago, if you could call it that (it was housed in a few warehouses) of the Sultan's collection and some things like fine art which Jifri paid a ridiculous amount were got for a bargain. I also remember reading that he had a couple of flight simulators (the proper pilot training type). Ah , if only I had a big fat bank account, the things I would do... :?

As I said in my opening post, I would give my left nut for his garage. A family member (by marriage) was the head anesthetist to the Royal family during the 1980s. Everytime he was involved in any sort of procedure (even if he didn't have to administer an anesthetic) the whole medical team would get gifts. His would be a solid gold Rolex... lucky sod, happened so many times it was not funny.

That's in the other topic, but i believe these pics show the cars in their current environment... the three F50s in a row is amazing, as is the Yellow Room and the for F40s :shock:

My god.. 17 mil for 1 car... 8 McLarens.. what looks like 3 F50s and 4 F40s... man I wish I had those.

sikx5, you are right, it is a n article from the Australian mag, Wheels.

There was another excellent article in Autocar (much better pictures), and it had a snippet about how the Sultan has every championship winning F1 car from 1980 onwards , barring one or two. They are also all in running condition except for the Renaults. Lucky , lucky sod. :(

Forget about the 8 McLarens. What's more important is that he has at least two McLaren F1 slayers: Dauer 960 LM. :shock:

I think the pics are crap, not the scans. Those pictures were probably illegally taken, that's why they write at the end of the article that he has enough money to lock his collection forever and that the pics are maybe be only the world will see.

BTW I'd like to spend one month there in order to take pics but I don't wanna be so rich, he isn't a happy man I bet

If I recall correctly the Sultan disposes of the cars he doesnt like anymore or some parts of it into the South China Sea.

I wouldn't mind being the man's garbage collector.

This man is thief he buys car withouth need (or someone needs eight Macca´s) and other innecesary luxuries alongside the whole country is deep in the misery.
And exist even deth penality for people (mostly newsagents) who tell some kind of trues about his personal life.

As far as I can tell Brunei citizens enjoy free health care, education and public facilities; not to mention cheap loans and high, tax free incomes. If that's misery then wow!

Cool colection, but whats the point. It would take him weeks to get most of those cars out of there, by which time he'd have driven off in the nearest one! You apparantly can have too many cars!
