WTF are they thinking. This interior is just hideous. Bangle should go crawl into a hole somewhere and hide and never design anything again.

SPEEDKILLAR 06-26-2004 12:37 PM

Not an impressive interior, that wood looks cheap, I like more the black interior and aluminium accents :)

Give me the old version.

v0od0o 06-26-2004 12:40 PM

That's too sad, they spoiled a car that was in many respects the best car in the world....

schnell318 06-26-2004 12:40 PM

I don´t think the wood fits the car but I love the colour of the leather :D

htfaber 06-26-2004 01:50 PM

The wood is definitely not my taste, but I wouldn't mind sitting in that driver's seat!! I love the steering wheel and the colour of the leather!

T-Bird 06-26-2004 02:32 PM

have you ever heard of optional interiors I'm sure if any of you actually went to buy one you could get different interior colors and differetn trim. I think it looks fine like that.

i dont think theyre gonna stick with the wood as default interior, its should be carbon fibre... for sure... wood is gonna be the optional

blah 06-26-2004 04:25 PM

Ill take the Alluminum finish over that color wood. Maybe a darker cherry would would look better with those seats. But it looks pretty nice to me, i like that SMG selector. But it needs a 6 speed if it was to be a real Sporting car.

i think ull get to choose, as in the 545i

As i´ve said before, rumours say there will probably be a manual option in the future but it will be a 7 speed not a 6.

blah 06-26-2004 05:11 PM

Hmmm a 7 speed. I guess i can live with that, thats alot of fucking shift though when you in traffic? will 5/6/7 be Over Drive?

ae86_16v 06-26-2004 10:59 PM

Yeah, the wood looks really really cheap.

amanthapar 06-27-2004 01:21 AM

bangle= bastard

oantob 06-27-2004 02:22 AM

I like the engine, the car exterior but not this interior... I think the M5 interior didn't fit with that woodden pannel, it should change to CF...

ahmedgiyab 06-27-2004 04:58 AM

The seats look good....but the dash is like in a Caprice.... :D

Ain't look sporty..... :?

I agree. It looks too "standard" (in a 5-series sense) for a car with a V10 engine. They should've made it mare special.

philios55 06-27-2004 12:45 PM

i don't like at all!they should have done better for a car of that calibre!

well, I heard that it will be either 7-speed SMG or 6-speed manual...if it was a 7-speed manual tho, you could always go 1-3-5, or 2-4-6, or something like that...my friend with his STI does that quite a bit, so i'm sure it would be more than possible in a car like this.

as for the interior...it seems as though that combination was put together by a really old person...i don't like the wood trim or the color of the leather. I'd go with either grey or black leather with either brushed aluminum or carbon-fiber trim

yg60m 06-27-2004 04:33 PM

yes, the color of the leather is weird but the inside of a 5 series is a nice place to be and being an M5 would be even better

but it would depend ont he gearing if you could skip a gear. I know the STI has close gearing, but what of this. You dont wanna go from 1-3rd and in 3rd your only have 1500 Revs

gdc 06-28-2004 04:29 AM

Why wood?

It should fit some carbon fiber or metal...

Look elderly!!! :?

blah 06-28-2004 04:49 AM

Carbon fiber would look cheesy, i think an Chrome/Alluminum finish would look best, or as i stated a darker cherry wood.

mclaren_Gt 09-14-2004 12:03 AM

very nice interior

SilviaEvo 09-14-2004 12:46 AM

it looks like a floor board with chairs and shit and a 6in. screen

///M_Power 09-20-2004 04:42 PM

aluminium trim for me please

///M_Power 09-20-2004 04:50 PM

The official BMW site said that the new V10 M5 will acelarate from 0-100 km/h in 4.7s i think it can acelerate more than that. in the same site said that the old V8 M5 acelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.3s. But we all know that it can make the run in about 4.8s (Motortrend and Road & Track USA Magazine). That means to me that the new V10 one will acelerate in 4.2s or what? what do u think?

noliebro 09-20-2004 04:52 PM

yeah they should especially get rid of the system that uses the knob in the center console for everything in the car

troskap 09-20-2004 06:58 PM

Looks like they got caught in that godawful conundrum of building a modern car, but trying to keep a level of 'tradition' evident in it's build. At least from the photos here, it's not a particularly brilliiant result.

Of course, the photo's lighting isn't particularly flattering, either, being as overly bright as it is. Maybe with proper photography/seeing it live, it'll stop looking like something GM did on a good day? :P

neilo63 09-23-2004 07:13 AM

Some of the interiors angles are fucked / looks bad because of the flash and is it just me or is there a different grain timber on the door grabby thing compared to the dash  Wood doesnt belong in high end sports cars gimmie metal and leather

mindgam3 09-23-2004 07:24 AM

just looks like any other new bmw..... lol, i dont know what all the fuss is about, i'm sure most have u have seen a BMW interior before. Most photos of interiors make it look worse than it is and it looks a lot better in real life. And of course theres always different interior trim options......

philios55 09-23-2004 07:49 AM

I don't like it at all!!It looks cheap and without style!

CMonakar 09-24-2004 02:38 AM

Strangle Bangle!

svizzero 09-28-2004 12:23 AM

I'm not sure how old these pictures are, but there is a slightly more flattering pic of the interior. It is still kind of cheap looking.

S.A.B.

cho_888 09-28-2004 08:25 AM

yes a better photo for sure and i think i like the design, not perfect but nice. and the brown dosnt do the car any favours in the first photos

testdrivem3 11-19-2004 10:50 AM

same as 5 series

i dont thing that the pics give justice to the otherwise great interior of the e 60. It has simple lines and its not clattered by having a lot of buttons like some of its competitors. The i drive is a great thing that just needs a bit of getting used to it,once you ve learned how to use it you really start to appreciate it for both its functionality and the fact that it makes the interior look better by saving it from buttons

ikon2003 01-23-2005 02:41 AM

wow, that thing doesn't look sporty at all. and those browns - ugly.

and the fact that it's not that sporty looking wouldnt' matter if it were elegant or lux, but it just isnt! too plasticy and plain IMO. bleck

Depends I do first to third on downhill hairpins to straights. Non sequential manual is great for cars with lots of torque and makes them much easier to drive. 7 speed! the new viper has 2 overdrive gear doesn't it?

Well flash camera shots of ANY car interior makes it look cheaper than it is. Wood interior blah, that not for a sportscar, colour is bad but as stated above you have a choice. Yeah Aluminium finsh instead of wood, the plastics colour quality looks ok but layout is not of a sportscar IMO.

c_theodoros 01-24-2005 12:49 AM

I can't understand how someone can have such a bad taste, I wonder did the owner went through the F****G brochure before placing that order ?
How can you get it that wrong when you can have something like this ???

Although I would prefer dakar black leather with some titanium/carbon-fibre trim 8)

Toronto 01-24-2005 01:56 AM

who picked that colour????? gross

ikon2003 01-24-2005 02:04 AM

^ ^, yeah those pics are nicer. that's a much better interior w/ much better colors. still dunno if it's worth all that money tho.

so in another word. at this point, all the M5 interior/exterior combo are all chosen by BMW. not dealer, and not owners.

as for this M5.

this is the very first M5 to be shown to public. in fact this isn't even production spec M5. yes, this is actually the M5 concept from Geneva Auto Show of 2004. and since its interior was never intended to be shown to public.... i guess BMW just didn't put too much attention to it.

That heads up display is really cool. The interior looks really bland. I am still driving two BMWs that have the driver oriented center stack, too bad they have diverted away from that.

szumszer 01-24-2005 01:00 PM

i like the grain of that wood, it is a nice refreshment from all that high gloss mosaic lexus puts inside, but it looks awkward in an M5, carbon or aluminum would look more appropriate
