Top Gear - S10 EP10 - 23rd December, 2007 - Discussion

Quote:

In the last episode of the series, Jeremy James and Richard take three cars to Spain: the new BMW M3, Mercedes C63 AMG and Audi RS4. One reason for doing this is to discover which car makes you look least like a "hair-gelled weasel".

James drives the new Jaguar XF; Richard looks at beach buggies and Jeremy turns a G-Wiz into a radio-controlled car.

David Tennant is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
M3, RS4 and C63 AMG :ohmy::ohmy:

Yes...
Why... is snooker even on TV in the UK? Is there nothing better on?:-P

To quote Clarkson:
"Who? Who sat down an thought up this stuff?"

The complete program:

There's no Top Gear on telly this coming Sunday, 'cos the snooker's on instead.

Normally we'd be really, really unhappy about this, but the blow has been lessened by the news that next Sunday - December 23 - is Top Gear night on BBC Two.

Starting at 7pm, we get James May: My Sister's Top Toys, in which Captain Slow tells his heart-wrenching childhood story of being stuck between two sisters, where he was forced to play with their poxy toys.

The Spirograph and Fuzzy Felt are among the toy victims as James wreaks his vengeance, getting his own back on his childhood misery. He also blows up the tree house family.

Then at 8pm we get the last Top Gear of the series, which sees the boys triple testing the new BMW M3 against a Merc C63 AMG and an Audi RS4, to find out which one handles the best and which one makes you look like a hair-gelled weasel. James takes out Jaguar's brand spanking XF, David 'Dr Who' Tennant is the star in a reasonably priced car, and the three of them turn a G-Wiz into a high-performance radio-controlled car.

As if all of that wasn't enough, at 9pm we round out Top Gear night with Richard Hammond Meets Evel Knievel. The Hamster spent four days in the summer with his childhood hero, shortly before the legendary stuntman's death.

So that's:

James May: My Sister's Top Toys, 7pm, BBC Two

Top Gear, 8pm, BBC Two

Richard Hammond Meets Evel Knievel, 9pm, BBC Two

James May: My Sister's Top Toys
I remember James May's last toy special. That was quite good.

Richard Hammond Meets Evel Knievel
I didn't even know he did that. Poor Knievel. This should be quite good as well.

nejcdolinsek 12-16-2007 06:39 PM

Whoa, that comparo is going to be good :-D
But concerning the C63: am I the only one that thinks its a bit too rice? :?:

shorty244 12-16-2007 06:45 PM

I really don't like the back end of the merc.

For a Merc it does yeah, especially the headlights.
Can't say I don't like it, but I prefer the M3's cleaner look.

m0ng0l01dz 12-17-2007 12:52 AM

Will there be torrents for all three or just TG?

Legolas 12-21-2007 12:35 PM

lovelly episode that will be... :-)

love the new C class and the AMG version is stunning

PATo355 12-21-2007 06:42 PM

Good ep , but i thought they were going to test the f430 challenge :(

bmwmpower 12-24-2007 06:48 AM

very good one , m3 rs4 c63 is must have

fordgt84 12-24-2007 02:21 PM

nice episode...but top gear keeps on making these silly mistakes, 500hp shelby? when it was clearly the 319hp gt version

anyways very entertaining last episode, i will surely miss it

volkoff 12-24-2007 04:36 PM

Good one. I may sound like a cock, but the m3 is the best one
And I realy disagree with them about the merc look - it is great.
Waiting for more TG)

Svensson 12-24-2007 04:43 PM

^ I agree with you on those points!

Who knows, it could've had some work done to it. Or it could just be another Clarksonian mistake.

Anyways, I thought this was the funniest episode of the season. I haven't laughed like that in a while. (since the amphibious car feature, actually)

graywolf624 01-06-2008 11:14 PM

The G wiz bit was hilarious. I can't say I saw the death of Hammond's second rc car comming. A fitting end to a piece of crap.

I also liked the german saloon challenge. Well done, and certainly poignant about the M3 image, though Im left wondering why he hit the m3 stereo type but not the audi and mercedes owner stereotypes (equally as bad). Still fantastic different types of cars.

I don't see how the XF is good looking. Frankly It doesnt do anything for me, and honestly their blatant attempts to love anything british no matter how bad is starting to wear thin.. Oh well.

Doctor who isnt an american thing so I leave that to someone else.

Stig and Mrs. Stig on vacation.. man..

RF1 01-14-2008 08:13 PM

one of the best ending I have eves saw 8-)

(music) Sćglópur - Sigur Rós -> fantastic :-)

gear 02-05-2008 02:28 PM

thanks

Carbodiox 03-03-2008 12:21 AM

Don't want to make new thread. I was trying to find out. but couldn't find, when we gonna see 11th episode?

vexor 03-03-2008 02:58 AM

^^^ there is no 11th episode in this season

ferrarif1fan89 03-03-2008 03:05 AM

Perhaps you mean the eleventh season?:-)

Carbodiox 03-03-2008 09:49 AM

Ofcourse.... :blushing: My mistake. So when we can expect that?

vexor 03-03-2008 12:21 PM

last i heard mid summer.... maybe....
