|
dude awsome sleeper!
|
I see the pic just fine. :?
Cool car, I've always liked Celica's. Sounds very fast, any idea on the numbers? i.e horspower, torque, 1/4 mile times and such? |
Seems a lot of people can't see the pic, so here ya go, I resized it too. I hope you don't mind. A total sleeper, I like it. Very nice! 8)

i love the older style celicas compared to the newer ones.

thanks for the repost 666fast, i have been outta town so i have been neglecting the forums =) i dont have 1/4 mile or 0-60 numbers yet cause i cant find my dang g-tech pro. however the hp should be in the 275-300hp range. the engine should be good for another 5 or 6 pounds of boost
so the way i figure 275-300hp with 2200 pounds to motivate makes a pretty quick car, everyone where i live are big z28 camaro and GT mustang guys, and they have learned in two weeks not to even try to race me cause i kill them hard core, i am having major traction probs (disadvatage of FWD) so i am upgrading to wider rims/tires real soon, its good enough for a nice cloud of thick white smoke in 3rd gear the pic in this topic is the only one i have, the only thing that gives away the beast within is the smaller (bright) driver side headlight has been removed to give the HKS megaflow air filter more cooler air, for a ram air effect kinda thing |
Damn, 300bhp will get that thing moving for sure! Too bad it's FWD, wheelspin wheelspin wheelspin, definately get wider tires!
I wouldn't go for a whole lot more power if I were you, otherwise you are gonna end up with some crazy torque steer. Unless your building a drag car, then it won't really matter. Are accurate do you think those G Tech's are? My friend was thinking of buying one. The ads say they are very accurate, but I'd rather talk to someone who has one. If you get any other pics, I'll be happy to host them for you. Or you could get your own account at http://www.digitalpose.com/ I get 25MB for free, not a bad deal! |
Thanks for the link 666fast.
At last I will post my pics |
And Nice Celica. I like those better than the new ones.
|
Is this the one with all the mods????? I want more pics !!!!!!! Yah, Jabba, make it a feature.....which i think should also become a more frequent thing here or some kind of car of the day thing
|
you mean more regular than the one on Racing Flix ????

Yeh thats what I was thinking...it wasnt so bad when it was my cars on there though
|
sory bout the delay guys, ive been outta town with my friend with the Audi S4 (driver side window stuck down) so we had to take it for service...i did get to drive a porsche boxter while there tho =) it was nice
i think the g-techs are pretty accurate, its seems to be, i have the first one and i like it alot, i would recomend it, i want the second one pretty bad but thats 250 bucks i dont have (darn girlfriends drain my cash flow) i dont really get any torque steer on my car, its never had nay to start with, and once you get moving the wheelspin isnt too much of a problem, its a blast on the local curveys, many a more expensive cars have been left in my dust =) but then again they are driving corvettes and audis =) and i have a lil toyota i gave 12k for =) |
The only thing I've seen that's sleepier than that is the pushrod 5.0L V8 powered rear-drive conversion for the Ford Focus 3dr. The only difference between the stock one and the modded version at a glance is that the rear tires are a little wider than they would normally be (but they don't have to be...you'd just burn rubber through 4th gear hehe)
|
As for wheelspin with a 300bhp front-driver...it's manageable, but you end up with some nasty torque steer if you aren't careful. The Focus FR200 had 304bhp through it's front wheels, but they were 18-inchers with 265 section tires, so it wasn't a big deal to keep the power on the ground. Granted, wheelspin was there if you wanted it in 1st gear, but after that it was pretty stuck to the ground.
|
oddly enough i dont get too much torque steer, but i have had alot better hook up now cause i have slicks i take to the strip ;) best e.t so far in the 1/8th mile is 9.08 =) and thats spinning tire through 3 gears =)
but i have a new project now! look foward to heraing about my 1989 240SX that will be getting a SR20DET soon, i hope to build it to about 400+ hp |
