Any LOMAC Pilots On JW?

Well I rember starting a topic on sim racing and was amazed at the fact that a forum full of auto enthusiasts would not be intersted in auto simulation :| *you lame bastards  j/k*

So are there any sim flight players here, or LOMAC players in particular?

Sweet. Its the best sim on the planet! Just make sure you have a decent joystick, and time to learn it...cause it aint easy

Chaos in 1983! 10-16-2004 07:14 PM

Holy fucking shit...that's VERY impressive...what sim is that? I've tried some sims before but they are way too demanding for my crappy PC...

Its Lock On: Modern Air Combat

And I have bad news for you. You need at least a 2.4 P4 to run it, and preferably 3.0GHZ for good performance. Its as CPU as vid card demanding :|

LOL... i was gonna get it, but my 1.7 P4 is waaaayyy too slow

Also my GeForce2 32MB is just about good enough to display windows

SFDMALEX 10-16-2004 07:32 PM

Sorry to hear that mate :( I know its a bitch. But its so good when you get it running smoothly that its really worth it if you are into Jets

No.1 10-16-2004 07:35 PM

LOL... thanks for the sympathy :D

I will eventually sort it out... gimme a few years though

SFDMALEX 10-16-2004 07:42 PM

Well with those specs you posted there THamar its good enough for running it at 640x480 on low

SFDMALEX 10-16-2004 07:44 PM

"Recommended" specs are

P4 2.0/AMD 1800
Dx8 128mb vid card
512ram

and at that it will run like shit.

sentra_dude 10-16-2004 08:01 PM

Damn, those screen shots look sweet! My computer is right above the min specs...so I guess it will still run like shit...is it still worth checking out? 8) :P

SFDMALEX 10-16-2004 08:10 PM

Sure it is man. You will just have to lower a few settings.

Chaos in 1983! 10-16-2004 08:34 PM

I have a GeForce2MX 32Mb as well...LOL...

Could you atleast write the name of that joystick, I think its a sidewinder 2 or something like that...

SFDMALEX 10-17-2004 03:25 PM

What for? You got the name just right

N.J. 10-17-2004 09:36 PM

*You'll probably get a kick out of this :D

I watched the Lomac site all through 2003 waiting for Lomac, bought it, tried it out on my P3 933, Geforce 2 GTS, 384 mb ram and - not suprisingly - it ran like a slideshow...

Its been almost 12 months since I bought it and it still sits in its box.

p.s

I'll probably wait till P4 4.0 comes out then replace my almost 4 year old machine.

Even with P4 3.0/3.2, you can't turn all the graphics up.
(ie. I've heard that the ocean graphics have to be turned down even with the current top of the line pc's.)

I don't want to buy a computer now and find that I've got to turn things down, I want to get the most out of Lomac, I want to see it with all the bells and whistles turned on.

I remember Falcon 4.0 back in '99.

It ran ok on my P2 350 - but is was awesome on my current machine.

SFDMALEX 10-17-2004 09:57 PM

hehe, well Im at 3.5ghz with a Ti4600 and I still cannot run full graphics. But I run pretty high and it looks stunning.
