there were threats which in a event that takes place in multiple countries is enough to not to risk life's for just a race. and those race trucks are called service trucks they carry parts for most of the teams but there a few that are out there for themselves.the rally trucks are the toureg,mitsubishi,hummer etc......

Yesterday i saw some video footage of the new Dakar,the recognition team doing it job.It seems to me it would be a great dakar and really hard,pity is the fact of not starting in Lisbon.:-(
Anyone knows if that amazing Tuareg with v12 diesel engine will be there? |

theres the answer to the toureg question i was looking for an old picture or video of one of the trucks in the eighties dont know if u remeber it but it had two cabins facing backwards and forwards so it could be driven either way haven a hard time finding it there were some crazy prototypes back then

street is out of the motorbikes:-(cant wait till they get back in the dunes. the rally so far has been impressive there. the organizers have done great the only part of the paris-dakar i miss is the start in paris and the sahara desert but argentina and chile have been great(a little dusty and too many roads but still great).

on organizing the rally to argentina mapping out the country. now in the old rally they would have to of finished the day in certain amount of time. unfortunate about the french man who passed i dont understand the system that is being used but apparently it is some kind of gps emergency button that when pressed it goes back to france then gets sent back to the race officials apparently it took a few days to work after being pressed very unfortunate but this is what happens in these endurance rallys i personally think they have done a great job and hope they continue to do it. this isnt some small race this makes le mans look like sprint race there isnt much in line of safety many lifes have been lost in the dakar it should tell u something when the founder of the rally died in it not for the weak.

The lack of TV coverage is killing me. I remember back in the day when they'd actually give decent U.S. airtime to the Dakar. 2 years ago I was sustained by eurovision torrents. Perhaps I can do something similar this year.
