Installed the big front brakes today =)

oh man, it was a pain in the ass compared to the rears!.. first, the brakelines in copper couldn't hold up anymore, and I had my garage custom make me some new on the spot. Then, the two small screws holding the disk flush to the hub were seized up... took me 2 hours to get them off.. After that it went pretty smooth. Bleeding is always a boring mess... End result however was great. It hurts your body if you floor the brakepedal now.. :D

did you try an impact driver on the screws for the rotors? that happens all the time on
Acuras and with a friendly hit with the impact driver a few times and off they come (best tool ever)

We have one for the Clio - and we can change brake rotors and pads in about 10 minutes  :D

but if the star screw doesn't have any more track....it's not so easy :P

yep, I'm looking at the RH Turbo Cup rim in '18 with 225/40/18 Pirelli P Zero Rosso Asimmetrico :P

these rims (only with cooler tires), a classical RS2 upgrade

^^ I knew it, I would do exactly the same! :D

The gunmetal ones look so sexy!

silentm 03-13-2007 11:56 AM

gunmetal on a black one is just

TopGearNL 03-13-2007 01:31 PM

You see everybody loves the Gunmetal ones Skaala! :D

Skaala 03-13-2007 01:37 PM

^I'll have to check this out some more. Best if I get someone to powdercoat gunmetal? I think it is a custom job in that pic.

Skaala 03-13-2007 05:36 PM

Just sent an email to a local powdercoater with the paint specification for gunmetal paint.
If anyone wonders... it's:

Colour Name: 305 Gun Metal
Colour Code: AST 1301
Basecoat: (MBC) / 2K
Activator: DCH4074Q

I've decided on gunmetal when I get the RH turbo cup rims :D jeey

TopGearNL 03-13-2007 06:55 PM

Usually if the asshat at the dealership hadnt used an impact driver to put the damn thing on you could get it off.

(Sorry pet peeve, especially when they do that shit to your lugs.)
