Videos of the CGT and F430

I know these have been long overdue so I hope you will forgive me. :shocked!: These were taken in 2005 by (SUPERCARFREAK) Alex, really a great kid. He has his own great website, http://www.supercarfreak.net/index.php, which you should visit.

Anyhow, he stopped down in Early Spring of 2005 after asking me if he could come over from Cleveland with a friend and take some pics of my cars to put on his website.

He took 139 pics plus these two videos. Thanks to him and I hope you enjoy the vids. Turn your volume up! :2gunfire: Mags
p.s. Please be a little patient.... I had to let the cars warm up a little... especially the Carrera GT! :roflmao:

The F430

Good stuff! It has been quite some time since this thread was updated but what a nice update it is :D

Well it's been all quiet over here on the Western Front so I guess I can say this now. I'm kinda reluctant to post this because of the possible backlash I think I'm going to get.

First let me say, I think most of you know that I've always mentioned how lucky I was to have had a Father who worked his rear off to provide his family a safe and secure future. It's because of my Dad's fantastic success  that I have been able to be afford and own all my cars. With that being said and me being an admitted older 'spoiled brat', I've been able to buy and evaluate several cars over the last couple of years.

As the months have gone buy in the last 2 1/2 years, I've come to realize that there's more to 'supercars' than just all out speed. I have absolutely loved all the cars I owned but some are just plain easier to drive and enjoy, to get in and out of and to take care of. Going extremely fast is not all there is!

Soooooo...... I guess it's time to spill the beans as they say. Last Tuesday, July 3rd, I sold my Carrera GT and the SLR. :shocked!: I then bought a 2006 F430 Spider (Red) and a 2007 F430 Coupe (all Black) from the same dealer who bought the CGT and SLR. How's that for 4th of July fireworks??? :bad-words:

My second son is going to buy the 2005 F430 from me, I think this coming week. He has been wanting it for some time now. My initial plan was to sell the 2005 F430 to him and then I was going to wait and buy an 2007 F430 Yellow Coupe this Winter for myself when prices would be at their lowest but this opportunity came up and I couldn't pass on it.

I was very reluctant to post this especially on this forum where so many of you have expressed your love of the Carrera GT and the SLR too. I figured that many of you out there would tear me a new a-hole for selling the CGT and the SLR. I really enjoyed both cars but they just can't compare to the F430 for everyday driving comfort, ease of use and resale value.

I sure a lot of you being around the age of my son or younger, he's 30, think I'm an idiot, :silly: but I was only getting each car, the CGT and SLR, out once every 2 or 3 weeks. That's insanely ridiculous! I sure having all the other cars didn't help too much either but both were a little bit of a hassle to drive. My son was extremely POd that I was selling the CGT!

The CGT and SLR were not fun getting in and out of, especially for us 'older' gentlemen. The rear visibilty is pretty impaired on both compared to the F430s. I'm sure no matter what I say will hit home with hardly any of you and I fully understand but you couldn't appreciate my feelings on the cars unless you were in my shoes.

Some day, when you guys hopefully reach my age, you'll possibly understand. But remember..... I still have the Orange GT3RS. :onfire: It's equally as easy and fun to drive and very comfortable like the F430. Sorry if I made any of you mad at me but 'sh_t happens'..... that's why they have that bumper sticker! Mags

p.s. The same car dealer also bought and picked up the Cayenne Turbo S last Friday. For me it was just an in-between SUV. Fabulous car but I couldn't drive it at all in Winter with even a little snow on the ground because of the hi-performance Summer tires. So, I'll just have to cruise around in the Toyota FJ and Tundra when the 'white' stuff falls!

p.s.s. Remember now...... the CLK63 AMG Black Series is coming to my house in late August or early September! Be nice to this 'old man' or I won't post any review or pictures of it! :prr: Magwheel

while sure, I would've only rid myself of that SLR :P I long ago learned that it is silly to call an owner anything, as it is your money, your cars, your tastes, and your experiences.... not mine.

I see your love of the 430's really is quite extensive ;) Cool cars, no doubt!

gis 07-08-2007 06:42 PM

so you have 3 F430's right now,lol.....you know.....thats a bit greedy,LOL :P

momodels 07-08-2007 07:27 PM

I understand your choice of rather buying F430 because itīs more usable but also I would rather buy one 599 instead of 2-3 (whatever  ) F430s...or you maybe ordered one already?

gucom 07-08-2007 07:35 PM

lol as has been said, you're the 1 experiencing these cars, you're the 1 who has to be happy with them (and at this kind of money, you should ofcourse be extremely satisfied with what you buy yourself)... but man, have you ever seen the rear end of that CGT??? it's too sexy!

atomic80 07-08-2007 07:47 PM

Mike, did you at least get the "T" fixed on your CGT before you sold her? :D

Now you're going to have to do a photoshoot with all three F430's before you sell one to your son. :D

saadie 07-08-2007 08:12 PM

Mike .. you dirty old man  ...

you should still consider something like a zonda or koenigsegg ... :P

cant wait for the CLK black series.. btw .. get it in back .. pleaseee .. i've seen enough silver black series already  .. 8)

If you sold those cars so I could have your "old" F430, I'd forgive you quickly.

I just watched a Discovery Channel (?) special (for the 3rd time) on the Ferrari factory and they showed the complete building process of the 599. Unreal!!! I would like to get one hopefully next Summer or Fall. :D Mags
