That's why zee TiBook was discontinued after awhile & replaced with the Aluminum-based Powerbooks with a harder to break uni-hinge.

Apple has the tendency to make painfully compact notebooks thus the keyboards inprinting on the LCD. IBM has a more-fault tolerant take on it though my 2 Thinkpad's hinges did break after 3+ years of service. While they were in working order they were pretty good machines. Pity that the HDD had a tendency to break often.

On the LCDs I'd still go for those sold by Dell. Cheap & more functional too. Just need to put black electrical tape on the center bottom bezel to hide the logo and you're set.

The 20" Cinema Display now sells for $699 (down from $799), the 23" Cinema Display now sells for $999 (down from $1299), and the 30" Cinema Display now sells for $1999 (down from $2499), representing cuts of $100, $300, and $500 respectively.

Not as cheap as Dells or as functional but it's a welcome change.

Also the older thinkpads HDD sucked because I think the4y had them damn 5400 rpm hdd and I have like 4 5400 rpm HDD that all just died or dies after like 10 mins of using it. So when I get new HDD its either 7200 or more. Usually just 7200 because they are cheaper.

IIRC those old TP HDD's ran at 4200RPM. The 5400RPM is the current stadnard for notebook HDDs and the 7200RPM is the current high-end/
