I agree. The in-game visuals are nice, though I'm not blown away, but the sound is spot on.

blinkmeat 11-04-2005 08:16 PM

cool 911 vid - was hoping for some more power-slides and donuts

Next one?

These guys are not running with all the settings maxed or even high

Ill get around to making my own vid when I get the time. Should be capable of running full deatal whist capturing since I can capture straight to the other hardrive.

Well you can do good with a 6600GT 1gb of ram, 2.8 P4.

But as all race sims its is very heavy on the system, very.

Oh and how do you like the start up smoke in the pantera vid? Cool eh

blinkmeat 11-04-2005 11:05 PM

actually the pantera vid hardly worked - just frozen primarily. But the porsche vid worked fine

really, loading times are already enough of a pain in the ass...

BTW, the video of the 911 is great..... it reminds me a little of WR running his rally 911 in that 'one' video ;)... although, not as extreme, i'll be seeing the De Tamoso running in a bit :)

Well I dont like how the guy in the video put on a very fast steering box in the setup. Its not how the 911 should be, their steering racks are dead slow. I my'n up so I use my a lot of lock, WR style, just like in that vid

I need to get a digital camera and shoot a little video with everything in action a pedal cam a shifter cam a wheel cam....BM style

No I it got long before the release date as a gift.

Check out RSC for some links, there are places in the States who sell the import

RC45 11-05-2005 02:09 AM

Why can't it be purchased online?

Looks like Simbin are upto their old shit again.

What a pity - they didn't learn last time out. The game came and went from US retailers in about a month last time. The only people who bothered to buy it were the people who went and looked for it.

Do they not comprehend the importance of going on sale before Christmas?

OK - you cheap bastard - you always get the Simbin games for free and then promote them around here... which results in me spending $50 to buy the fucking things onlne... ;)

Which I just did... this better work... :)

Banchi105 11-05-2005 02:22 AM

I've been playing the demo for the last few days on my brothers computer. Its alot of fun so far. Although, I'm trying to play with just the keyboard.

I should have my new Logitech Driving Force Pro in a few days and will have a much more overall impression of the engine.

Yes it can be purchased online.

I agree, they loose a lot of money by not selling it in the States at the same time, but I guess they just cant do it. :| It will be Q12006 for the States...dont ask why, they heard all the complaints with GTR about release dates, guess its not that easy :|

And no Im not a cheap bastard, I also bought a copy from Sweden. And trust me, I dont get paid for any promotion work. I just happen to help out with some things here and there and I know the guys from the days when they where a mod team.

Here is my proof that I also bought a copy

The videos and screens are very impressive. I'm going to ask around if someone I know has the game.

TransAm 02-11-2006 08:37 PM

I just picked it up from my local Frys for $29.99

Just installed it, going to have a go after I finish this post.

I might need to buy a new PC for this bloody game though

edit: Love it! It's good fun on beginner, and quite challenging thereafter!

The Cortina must be RWD by the way  pretty quick for an old girl too lol

Butch 02-06-2007 06:58 AM

I haven't enough post to put some pics, but new custom addons cars, not only skins but new mods start to be release.

sameerrao 12-09-2007 10:53 PM

My brother had this game. I recently played it for the last few weeks. This is an awesome game with a fun selection of cars from the 1960s and 1970s. You have Pantera, 275 GTB, Cobra, Corvette, Renault Alpine and many other cars.

In the semi-pro/pro mode the racing is quite realistic. The cars are on the knife edge and need finesse with the throttle to avoid spinning out. Awesome stuff!

Not much modifications options though. Its good in a way that you experience the car as it drove back then. But I am left wondering how the 275 would have performed with more modern slicks. Ah well you can't have everything in life. :)

The engine sounds seem pretty realistic except for the 275 which is a bit shriller than the real thing.

If you guys can get a hand on this game, go buy it. Its really fun!

fabro_s 12-10-2007 12:01 PM

I want to try this game, a more hardcore race sim, not the usual forza and GT.

I don't think it is as hardcore (read difficult to master) as GTR or GP Legends. In the amateur mode, the cars are quite easy to drive. With the semi pro mode, it gets more challenging and fun.

Buy it!

HeilSvenska 12-10-2007 12:50 PM

It can get a bit hairy in the highest difficulty settings, though. Wheel spins galore.

Try the Pro mode and get back to us about that one - especially when trying to race the Pantera hehe

This is the only comment needed though - and better yet, Buy GTR2 and get GT Legends for free in the box - Fry's and Best Buy still have the double retail pack for sale for $20.00 to $29.00

nthfinity 12-10-2007 01:02 PM

The ONLY way to go is full on simulation! Everything else feels silly to drive. Same with GTR. The most fun cars to drive are the "easiest" to spin...

And GTR's only $10 at regular stores now too!

fabro_s 12-10-2007 01:47 PM

Well $10 or $20 bucks for a game is a bargain compared to the 50$ or 60$ you pay for a PS3 or 360 game, but we are forgetting that in order to enjoy a sim game like this you need the proper tools "sim wheel", the new Logithech would be it, but that thing is 300$ or 400$ bucks if I can remember...

If you really want the sim experience to the fullest, the budget can get VERY big.... $10,000..... even $30,000+

But, for the casual sim racer, a Logitech GT, or MOMO is all that one needs, and they can be had for under 100$ now.

You need a decent processor to run the online racing (which is much more fun) so a pentium 4 or similar would work, a gig of ram would be recomended, and a Geforce 6xxx series is good enough to run full hi-def in the game.

Word is, that Simbin is working on a Ferrari ONLY sim that will work even better with a PCI physics card.... hardcore!

360 for $400
Forza 2 $60

PC - already have
Geforce 6200 .... prolly 100$ or less
FFB wheel less then 100$
GTR/ GTR2/ GT L combined price of 30-40$

you're really missing a lot :P

(BTW, I'm playing on a VERY old processor, and it only can't handle online gaming in the rain)

physics card game rumours have been aorund for a while - and each time theywere tested, the reality was "not much improvement" for the price and hassle. I'll believe a decent one when I see it onsale on the shelf making a decent difference :)

oh - and for the GT Legends fans, here's a little video I cooked up a year or so ago, that stayed under wraps till now...
