sounds like Subaru need the extra cash from sales of stock options after the goof up of the 2008 styling disaster at Subaru... and were forced into needing a "joint effort" car with Toyota.... unlike the Saab/Subaru 92x deal, where Subaru made out like mad cows by selling a non-competing Saabaru

You mean the new Impreza or the pig nose? or the bug eye? or the SVX?

I actually liked the pig nose, though. It wasn't that bad looking and you could instantly tell it was a Subie.

I rather like the bug eye... and sales show that the world did too

I loved the "pig nose?" I prefer the nomenclature of "alfa-nose" as well

the new 2008 Impreza/ STi..... looks boring, and Korean at best

Okay. Reverse Alfa nose.

Haha, I'm going to agree, that new 08 looks terrible, inside and out. From what I hear, it performs pretty terribly too. Good thing I got an 06, I think this is the best look of the latter years.

And yes, the 2.0 and the 2.5 without the turbo are slow as sin.

This is mine and my buddy's cars, Black one is mine.

This looks better. Although it's pure speculation at best.

With a 1.6 liter engine, and 95 hp, no limited slip diff, no passing power, but hey.... at least its .... boring?

And about the £10,000 bit.... V6 Mustangs are cheaper, and have more power... and tons of rigidity in the chassis for those who like bends ;)

Mustangs are not new.. this is.. and doesnt go through fuel like a whore on a saturday night.

Wrong.

EPA Mileage ratings
Subaru WRX: 19mpg (city) 24mpg (highway)
Mustang V6: 19mpg (city) 28mpg (highway)

The price of having to wring out more power from a tiny 4-cylinder. ;-)
*I used WRX's mileage figures since the new car's supposed to have even smaller capacity yet around the same power. It's lighter, that'd help. But it'll have the STI's gearbox. I don't know what it'll do for cruising.

79TA 05-28-2008 09:36 PM

Yea, I don't know where people get the misconception that 4 cylinders are almost universally more fuel efficient than other engine configurations. Adding power to a 4 banger has the same fuel efficiency trade offs. Go back to a no compression lame cam design and you'll have a fuel sipper again.
