What is known..
One side of the family came over from Germany in 18xx. The other side came over from England in 15xx.
That being said I've got other things which are unidentified as of yet.

My grandparents were all born in China. My paternal grandfather's home town is Kai Ping (Guangdong Province), and I'm technically one of them because my name is on the official family tree. All of them moved to Hong Kong later on (1930s, I guess), some to work, some to flee the Japs. As a result, my parents were born in Hong Kong. They got married after some single living, moved to Australia, and I was born here and grew up here.

Italy, my parents moved to the states from Sicily before I was born.

Dad's side is Scottish and German; Mom's side is irish, dutch, english. although the family name traces back to Scotland on southwest or northeast (can't remember). but grow up US Navy, and the family history in general has always been near the water it seems :bah: :)

2/4 Norwegian (that means both grandfathers were full norwegian)
1/4 swiss german (as in the kind of swiss that speak german, not french)
1/4 all mixed up English/Dutch origin. This one is the richest in American history though as I have ancestors that have been in the States since the 1600's.

saadie 02-06-2007 03:52 AM

Mom was born in Israel, Dad and both grandparents were born in Morocco, and as far as i know is that my family moved to Morocco from Spain in the deportation (1492).

I was born and raise here..

dutchmasterflex 02-06-2007 11:40 AM

Well.. My parents and grandparents were born and grew up in the Philippines.

My great grandfather came from China somewhere.

and I'm sure I've got some Spanish in me since the Spaniards were all up in the PI in early on..

It's really hard to track down our family history because of the Philippine's history. Would be nice to take the time and actually find my true roots though.

edit: oh yea, I was born Florida then moved up to NY when I was 5
