The peak torque figure is pretty irrelavent, the distribution of this torque through the rev range is far more important and achieving a broad torque distribution through the engine opperating speed range is what BMW M engines have been very very good at.

if u are looking for a tourque car,, They are defitnly not M cars.. they are all high rev, and lower on tourque..

the e46M3 have around 276lb of tourque, if my memory server me correct

just be in right rpm range if u ever want to acceralte.. no biggie on the tourgue number
