yep fascinating 8)

but not really ... because they dont get a car ....
the get the body shell ....
and alot of other parts from porsche ...

if the got a whole car .. then they'd be called tuner .. :prr:
like Brabus, kleeman, Jun, mugen etc etc :P

back on the line with RUF

Did RUF DESIGNED that chassis ?? NO
Did they BUILT that engine ???? NO They REPLACED some elements in order to gain performance, and that`s a different think.

And so on

They HEAVILY modified and EXISTING car . That car wasn`t designed by RUF.

It doesn`t matter how you put it , it` s a tuner.

Answer this :

What`s the difference between RUF and the other Porsche tuners say Gemballa or 9ff ???

RUF is a producer and the rest are tuners :P

I don't know how Ruf are recorded in the German registrars office, but Alpina and Hartge are the manufactures of record of the cars they produce.. Ruf may be the same.

St Anger....??? Where are you?

Ruf is a manufacturer according to the German authorities.

From their site:
Quote:

RUF Automobile GmbH is a producer of high-performance vehicles, specializing in manufacturing new RUF automobiles from the bare chassis, conversions to RUF specification and the performance enhancemet / refinement of Porsche cars.
So they are both tuner and car manufacturer.

I believe RUF can obtain plain chassis from Porsche where as the others can't. Same with Hartge.
