Don't forget to clearly document any threats to you are your family or property - and report them at the time they happen.

with the pitbull, your wife legally could have killed it.

But yeah, like RC said, document everything and for god sakes, get that camera  It'll come in handy after everything is done :D

Sucks about how bad the apartment has gotten though, especially for 1300 a month :?

Luckily I don't pay that $1300, work pays it.

Had I been home Wednesday when the dog got in, it'd not be walking around today for sure, well not without bumping into stuff - we have some pepper spray on V's keyring. She didn't think to use it though - it all happened so quickly she just wanted to get him away from Lucy.

I now have a Canon ZR100 DV camcorder charging up

@ jon_s - thanks for your comments, I appreciate you might not know a whole lot about this kind of thing, but I know it's going to be lots more than I know on the topic. The laws aren't exactly the same but if it's anything like the difference between MoD/DoD contracting Ts and Cs then we're not going to be too far apart.

just remember constant recording can be considered voyeurism with the right lawyer...

i have been the bad neighbor before... loud banging (wrestling in the livingroom) loud music at sometimes inappropriate times (no class friday means loud thursday nights), but never anywhere near that extreme... the only time i ever had any trouble i had was some brawling rich college fags in the same situation... they were looking for a fight, and luckily lived on the other side of the entire complex. never again had a problem with them.

your situation sounds much much worse. being that they just moved in, they need a good firm kick in the ass to make sure they stay better tennants the remainder of their lease. if it gets them kicked out of the apartments, i dont doubt they will forget you, and have rich parents sign off on another lease where they wont be 'bothered' as much.

violent drunk people is about the most dangerous ive come accross, so i definately sympathise with your situation. its also not an excuse for them to threaten the safety of you and your family. its good to hear that the stress is fading a bit; people are sane enough when sober to avoid doing things stupid

best of luck, transam

I was tempted to photocopy the receipt for the Canon and clip it to their door but I don't want to give my game away- The cam is behind the blinds recording sound only and they can't see it. Similarly, the window is slightly open, but it looks closed from the outside. We just rewind the tape every 90 mins and start recording again, assuming nothing happens in those 90 mins.

I can move the blind out of the way if I need to get pictures

They were quiet as mice last night, although they did the peep peep with central locking about 3x more than they needed to.

Nth- I went to Uni and was a bit of a noisy git myself, but I always complied when I was asked to turn the music down...

Update:

Last night we went out with the dogs and our neighbours were coming back from the pool (the neighbours who had the pit bull). The girl shouted over 'fucking pricks' as she closed her front door. We've called it into the police and the new report has been tied to the previous report about the pit bull attacking my wife and our dog last wednesday.

Murphys law dictates that I did not have the camcorder on me unfortunately (it is small enough to fit in my shorts pocket where I can leave it recording audio with the lens cap on)

as long as it's documented with the cops, that's all that should matter. They'll deny it in court but their neglegent actions will speak against them anyway

Update:

We could be moving to a house this weekend...

Watch this space!

ZfrkS62 06-22-2005 05:20 PM

 that was fast

TransAm 06-22-2005 05:23 PM

Well it hasnt happened yet and we havent even looked at any houses, but due to the nature of the reason behind us moving I suspect things are being pushed along quicker than normal.

Read as I have a good boss...

If it comes down to fisticuffs, remember, the upper lip contains alot of nerve endings and the eyebrow splits open fairly easily (hard to see if blood is dripping into their eye  )

But i don't recommend just walking up to them and beating their asses (as tempting as that may be  ) Hope you get that house. It would be alot better for you, your wife and the dogs :D (is it me, or do apartments seem to get smaller the longer you live in them?)

TransAm 06-23-2005 03:33 PM

No it's not just you Zfrk, apartments do shrink - you fill them up with new furniture, dogs etc !

It's funny how, once you get married, they have to have stuff like bakers racks where a guy wouldnt need one as, well...do you have any ornaments? I thought not

I managed to convince V that my scale model of a Mako Shark Corvette is an ornament!

It looks like we are moving very soon now, so I might be offline for a week or so after tomorrow... 8)

As for revenge, I've had all the ideas. Sugar in the gas tank, a quick wrench of the '04 Tahoe's sump plug and it's subsequent disappearance down the storm drain, keying the paint, stripping the paint. Even calling up a 'contact' and offering $500 to see what a few dodgy friends of his would do for me for that kind of sum...but, it's just not worth it. I have too much to lose and not only that I think any green card application I may want to make is going to be tough enough even with my spotless record (not even a parking ticket here in 2 years of living in TX) so I don't want to blemish my chances.

The SUV hasnt moved all day and at 801am (noise curfew finishes) I was out in the carpark on the DR650 for 30 mins 'adjusting' the jetting. I was tempted to remove the rear muffler of course

I had a meeting with the apt manager this morning and played her the camcorder of lastnights events, I got some great footage poking my lens through the blinds. She was gobsmacked as to what was going on and is throwing the book at them. My parting shot will be the formal final warnings that all these residents are getting today/tomorrow, while accompanied by mummy and daddy who co-signed the leases for them.

OT - I said to V that I would feel much better about things if I were allowed to go shopping for a 993, she just smiled. I need to work that issue a bit more!
