Yep, interesting that some people complain about others comments on cars (sadly seems to involve US alot) they like then jump in with stupid comments as soon as is a car they dont like

Hope the guy is alright.

RAMMIUS 08-03-2006 04:32 AM

^^^ Thx to Ferrari`s excellence in engineering he`s alive and almost well :P

^OMG you're an asshole.

Anyway, like ever too often, (some) people driving exotics think they're unbeatable and untouchable and drive like maniacs, without the proper skills. 99% of these accidents is because the driver is incompetent. These cars are exotics for a reason, they don't drive like bread-and-butter cars. He must be glad being alive after a crash @ 200 mph.

STFU

I`am not the wannabe enginner that makes dumb comments about a car or another just for the fun of it. Got it ????

nejcdolinsek 08-03-2006 07:35 AM

OK people, lets calm down. :P

As for this crash: What a tragedy. One of the few Enzos that are trully used is now dead :( RIP. At least the owner is alright :)

You're not an "enginner"....now that's a relief

Drop the attitude and your blatant generalization...and your grand display of sheer stupidity.

Thanks.

Here we go again - YOU are being your typical arsehole self.

First off - if you had any education worth money spent you might have detected that many of the comments stated above are in jest... then next you would like to note that 4 of the 400 Enzos produced have all been destroyed in crashes that were caused by high speed loss of control after encountering a bump.

That is a pretty high percentage of cars all failing in a similar way.

So -when an auto enthusiast makes and educated and actually plausible comment about the possible cause of such accidents, maybe you will take Ferraris d**k out of your mouth long enough the consider that perhaps there is some validity to the comments that the Enzo suspension is NOT really suited to high speed running on bumpy public roads.

This is not a guess or speculation - but a comment based on actual field testing conducted by Enzo owners

4 of the daily driven cars have been smashed to pieces in such accidents.

Now if you further more had any knowledge of, interest in or even experience with high speed and or high performance cars, you would be aware that very regularly Porsches, Vipers, Corvettes and even a few GT style Ferraris are taken on very high speed runs - and no where near the percentage of cars end up wrecked by this type of accident.

So - lets recap - you are a pathetic Ferrari Fan-Boy-Kid who couldn't conduct an intellectual conversaiton regarding sports cars and or handling or setup or high speed as you have zero experience in any of the fields mentioned - not to forget youhave proven to be a pathetic loser by your own musings as posted a few messages up

actually, there are engineers here, and people who have taken many engineering classes etc.

I'd recomend you for ban with these remarks in this thread :?

Also, is the poor Italian owner a stupid American too?

no, you are wrong

the enzo had a separate part of doors that were the cut-offs. The doors that he had in the crash were the normal doors.

this car had nearly 30,000 miles on it.

this isn't the only enzo that has wiped out specifically at high speed because of a bump, and becoming airborn.

this lead me to think there is a problem with the car on public roads.

any indication of what type of speed he was doing before this crash?

I've been in a couple of Ferraris at high-speeds (~300kmh) on bumpy public roads and they seemed to handle it very well, there was never any nervous moments that I recall.

It could well be a problem relating only to the Enzo.....suprising given its meant to be their top car.

nearly 200 mph

i'm not saying this of all ferrari's.

but if you remember such tech as 'the suspension firms up when..." which is definately good for a race track. In fact, with a ground effect car, a stiffer suspension actually makes the car faster on a track by keeping the airflow more controlled, and evenly flat across the surface.

But, without a wing on the back that couldn't keep the car on the road through high side air control too.

Say... for example, with a ground effect car, you hit a bump, and it changes the angle of incidence; all the ground effect suddenly becomes lift...

so, where normally for race conditions, a stiff suspension is ideal.... but for the road, softer suspension would be needed to soak up the bumps, rather then react to them.

also, remember that above 180, the Enzo switches its aerodynamic profile from high downforce, to low downforce...

dingo 08-03-2006 10:19 AM

oh THAT fast, I was thinking alot slower than that for some reason.....

saadie 08-03-2006 10:35 AM

another boy with alot of money trying to be a racing driver
good to know hes alive :)

Why would you say that?

Why?

c0wb0y007 08-03-2006 11:03 AM

Thats what I called a trashed exotic :!:

Better suggest the driver to buy a R Turbo are just a Turbo, something that sticks to the tarmac and gets supplied with one of the best brakes available on the market today.
Why oh why does everything turns to a Porsche when it comes to cars ? :P  8)

Cheers
