street is out of the motorbikes:-(cant wait till they get back in the dunes. the rally so far has been impressive there. the organizers have done great the only part of the paris-dakar i miss is the start in paris and the sahara desert but argentina and chile have been great(a little dusty and too many roads but still great).

how is that possible? they only notice that a man has died when smt starts smelling funny, and after saying that stage 5 is cancelled they start to think again and giving 200 hour penalties 2 days afterwards for those who didn't finish, or did finish, but the judges weren't there anymore....ridicolous

on organizing the rally to argentina mapping out the country. now in the old rally they would have to of finished the day in certain amount of time. unfortunate about the french man who passed i dont understand the system that is being used but apparently it is some kind of gps emergency button that when pressed it goes back to france then gets sent back to the race officials apparently it took a few days to work after being pressed very unfortunate but this is what happens in these endurance rallys i personally think they have done a great job and hope they continue to do it. this isnt some small race this makes le mans look like sprint race there isnt much in line of safety many lifes have been lost in the dakar it should tell u something when the founder of the rally died in it not for the weak.

pagani 01-12-2009 07:56 PM

That is one of the best dakar rally's i have seen in years
