Damn.. and I though I was bad with impulse buys ;)

The worst part is when they say the word "deal" and "bargain." Some how you justify the price as long as those words are mentioned ;)

Congrats on the new car, you should really get a part time job at some of the dealers so you can get even better discounts ;P

redbaron 05-03-2007 10:39 AM

This white SL is a nice car to kill time waiting for the CLK63 Black edition

lor2435 05-03-2007 11:58 AM

silentm 05-03-2007 12:29 PM

conngrats on all your cars, somehow i have the notion that you have too much money :D :P

inso 05-03-2007 12:46 PM

Love the SL, the last one was little too incognito, this one looks really nice.

Canīt wait the pics of the BE, you are such a tease :) Did the dealer talk about the price of BE? Well whatever, it is worth it, it is The Merc that says to M3 and RS4 to eat dust..

Yeah...... by all accounts, everyone I asked, said they were great picks. :onfire: I think it was pretty 'trick' how they were able to make that trade for Brady Quinn! I sure hope he turns out to give all the expectations that they feel he's capable of giving them! And that Joe Thomas...., :shocked!: he looks like a dang 'Kubota' M Series tractor. I'll bet he could stop my FJ in its tracks! Mags

Hi inso, My last SL550 wasn't too shabby. I actually freaked  out on it when I saw her on the showroom floor. In fact, I had gone there in December of 06 to see the Silver SLR they had since February of 06 only to find out they had dealer traded it to a San Diego Mercedes dealer who wanted that car 'specifically' for a customer who desperately  wanted a Silver SLR with the Black 'Silver Arrow' interior.

That's when I saw the Pewter SL550 sitting there. I saw it in the morning and closed a deal on her in the afternoon of the same day! Think she turned me on? :roflmao: I think it was a 'classy' color.

Now you guys got me going on White so I'm re-evaluating :hmm: my 'Iridium Silver' selection on the upcoming purchase of the CLK63 BE! Waddya think..... Silver or White on the CLK63 BE? Mags

p.s. The dealer quoted me MSRP on the CLK63 BE. I believe that's a pretty good price since 'supposedly' the car is going to be hotter than a Firecracker!!!

p.s.s. Pic of the Pewter SL550.

definitelly White pearl CLK Mike!!!

nice chose on the SL already, that colour is just fantastic  :good:

novass 05-03-2007 11:35 PM

I would go for black on the CLK BE, it would look so evil! Either that or a dark metallic grey. I don't know what color options it comes in though.

inso 05-04-2007 05:23 AM

http://www.worldcarfans.com/photos.c...g-black-series

I loved the silver BE, but after seeing this white one, no comparison.. What other colours there are available for BE? At german configurator there are 12colours for clk63amg, my favourites are calcite white, tenorit grey metallic and chrome black metallic.

Oh it looks fantastic for the first hour or so after a wash but then reality sets in once dirt and dust settle on her. :bad-words:

I've found on the few cars I've owned  that White, Silver or even Yellow seem to look clean no matter what unless you drive them through a mud puddle! Mags

EH, this one looking too bland? p0rn is more like it :)

(lucky me that didnīt won any of the cars, i couldnīt pay the local car taxes for it anyway :(
If I bought an used E46 M3 from Germany, I would have to pay 15-20ke taxes for it, before getting the finnish license plates, donīt wanna even think how much for a CGT, GT3 RS is 212ke taxed but without any options, and without taxes 111.6ke, do the math, 100ke in taxes)

I personally think that if a car is named the "Black Edition" it should be... hmm let me think... BLACK!

But that said I totally understand how hard it is to keep clean. And after seeing that latest post from Inso with the white BLACK edition.. man.. that looks awesome. Really a race-look

Erez 05-26-2007 12:49 PM

I saw a black CLK yesterday.. and now I'm even more sure it needs to be black  yeah its hard work keeping it clean.. but Beauty comes at a price

I'd probably trade the CGT for the real live version of your Avatar. I would then throw away my down pillows and sleep on those beautiful cheeks :wanker: every night for the rest of my life..... which would probably be a lot shorter after trying to keep up with her every day! :roflmao: Mags

gucom 05-26-2007 05:34 PM

hahaha yeah not bad are they? i know butt day is over but i just cant bring myself to delete this avatar... sadly shes not my gf so i cant trade her  not sure i would either 8)

Videos of the CGT and F430

I know these have been long overdue so I hope you will forgive me. :shocked!: These were taken in 2005 by (SUPERCARFREAK) Alex, really a great kid. He has his own great website, http://www.supercarfreak.net/index.php, which you should visit.

Anyhow, he stopped down in Early Spring of 2005 after asking me if he could come over from Cleveland with a friend and take some pics of my cars to put on his website.

He took 139 pics plus these two videos. Thanks to him and I hope you enjoy the vids. Turn your volume up! :2gunfire: Mags
p.s. Please be a little patient.... I had to let the cars warm up a little... especially the Carrera GT! :roflmao:

The F430

magwheel 07-08-2007 05:21 PM

Well it's been all quiet over here on the Western Front so I guess I can say this now. I'm kinda reluctant to post this because of the possible backlash I think I'm going to get.

First let me say, I think most of you know that I've always mentioned how lucky I was to have had a Father who worked his rear off to provide his family a safe and secure future. It's because of my Dad's fantastic success  that I have been able to be afford and own all my cars. With that being said and me being an admitted older 'spoiled brat', I've been able to buy and evaluate several cars over the last couple of years.

As the months have gone buy in the last 2 1/2 years, I've come to realize that there's more to 'supercars' than just all out speed. I have absolutely loved all the cars I owned but some are just plain easier to drive and enjoy, to get in and out of and to take care of. Going extremely fast is not all there is!

Soooooo...... I guess it's time to spill the beans as they say. Last Tuesday, July 3rd, I sold my Carrera GT and the SLR. :shocked!: I then bought a 2006 F430 Spider (Red) and a 2007 F430 Coupe (all Black) from the same dealer who bought the CGT and SLR. How's that for 4th of July fireworks??? :bad-words:

My second son is going to buy the 2005 F430 from me, I think this coming week. He has been wanting it for some time now. My initial plan was to sell the 2005 F430 to him and then I was going to wait and buy an 2007 F430 Yellow Coupe this Winter for myself when prices would be at their lowest but this opportunity came up and I couldn't pass on it.

I was very reluctant to post this especially on this forum where so many of you have expressed your love of the Carrera GT and the SLR too. I figured that many of you out there would tear me a new a-hole for selling the CGT and the SLR. I really enjoyed both cars but they just can't compare to the F430 for everyday driving comfort, ease of use and resale value.

I sure a lot of you being around the age of my son or younger, he's 30, think I'm an idiot, :silly: but I was only getting each car, the CGT and SLR, out once every 2 or 3 weeks. That's insanely ridiculous! I sure having all the other cars didn't help too much either but both were a little bit of a hassle to drive. My son was extremely POd that I was selling the CGT!

The CGT and SLR were not fun getting in and out of, especially for us 'older' gentlemen. The rear visibilty is pretty impaired on both compared to the F430s. I'm sure no matter what I say will hit home with hardly any of you and I fully understand but you couldn't appreciate my feelings on the cars unless you were in my shoes.

Some day, when you guys hopefully reach my age, you'll possibly understand. But remember..... I still have the Orange GT3RS. :onfire: It's equally as easy and fun to drive and very comfortable like the F430. Sorry if I made any of you mad at me but 'sh_t happens'..... that's why they have that bumper sticker! Mags

p.s. The same car dealer also bought and picked up the Cayenne Turbo S last Friday. For me it was just an in-between SUV. Fabulous car but I couldn't drive it at all in Winter with even a little snow on the ground because of the hi-performance Summer tires. So, I'll just have to cruise around in the Toyota FJ and Tundra when the 'white' stuff falls!

p.s.s. Remember now...... the CLK63 AMG Black Series is coming to my house in late August or early September! Be nice to this 'old man' or I won't post any review or pictures of it! :prr: Magwheel

while sure, I would've only rid myself of that SLR :P I long ago learned that it is silly to call an owner anything, as it is your money, your cars, your tastes, and your experiences.... not mine.

I see your love of the 430's really is quite extensive ;) Cool cars, no doubt!

so you have 3 F430's right now,lol.....you know.....thats a bit greedy,LOL :P

I understand your choice of rather buying F430 because itīs more usable but also I would rather buy one 599 instead of 2-3 (whatever  ) F430s...or you maybe ordered one already?

gucom 07-08-2007 07:35 PM

lol as has been said, you're the 1 experiencing these cars, you're the 1 who has to be happy with them (and at this kind of money, you should ofcourse be extremely satisfied with what you buy yourself)... but man, have you ever seen the rear end of that CGT??? it's too sexy!

atomic80 07-08-2007 07:47 PM

Mike, did you at least get the "T" fixed on your CGT before you sold her? :D

Now you're going to have to do a photoshoot with all three F430's before you sell one to your son. :D

Mike .. you dirty old man  ...

you should still consider something like a zonda or koenigsegg ... :P

I just watched a Discovery Channel (?) special (for the 3rd time) on the Ferrari factory and they showed the complete building process of the 599. Unreal!!! I would like to get one hopefully next Summer or Fall. :D Mags

Mattk 07-09-2007 08:33 AM

Well, it's a perfectly understandable decision to sell the CGT and the SLR if you find them hard to get into! Cars are made to enjoy, and we all know that that is idiosyncratic and wholly subjective. I'm sure the new ones are just as fun, and now you own F430s from 3 consecutive years. :)

Wow that was a big one! I do understand why you sold the SLR but the CGT! WHYY! :D. I know it's difficult to understand at this age those things but I do know that if they just sit in the garage and you don't enjoy getting in them then it's rather useless.

Well it's just so difficult to understand why people would want to get rid of CGT. I have LOVED the car ever since it was launched and I would give just about everything just to drive one, let alone owning one! It's a dream car for sure!

Why so many F430's :D, you must really love that car. Anyway congratulations on the new cars! Hope you have more fun in them than those SUPERCARS!
