Does anyone know any news about this "super-diesel" car????
The only thing I know is that it will have a V10 engine with 315Bhp and will do
0-62 in less than 6sec... :roll:

why is the touareg v10 stupid? it makes 553 lbft of torque. thats the importance of it.

and the V10 Diesel is 100kg heavier than the gasoline V8, so make the handling go shitty
Yes, Volkswagen Touareg. And I think it's stupid because you could get that torque using a V12... there are a lot of different ways to have a good engine, bot necessary a diesel. And a part from that, it's always better to rev a car up to 7000rpm than just 4000rpm. Diesels are interesting for small and economic cars (specially in Europe), but in big cars is useless.
yep i agree with u
i like diesel engines, but there is no reason to use them in these cars
there is no diesel engine that sounds like a V8, V10, V12...

is this even true? I haven't seen or heard of an E50 cdi b4. I didn't even know AMGs are tuning diesel engines.

yeah, i don't think this is true, i don't think Merc and AMG would build something redundant to the E55...this guy usually posts up some unreliable stuff...

diesel engines are rather important for torque and power than fuel mileage...a diesel engine has so much more torque than a common gasoline or metanol engine....and even on a V10 or V12....

I think it is possibly true since they built the C30 CDI AMG, not that it would make too much sence though.

Think of the C30 AMG CDI... :wink:
Merc is crazy enough to do such things... :wink:

All I know is that diesel engines are very good for towing. My parents have a motorhome with a inline-6 tubo-diesel engine that packs an amazing 1200 ft/lbs. If the AMG came with this amount of torgue, then it would be a beast.

C30 aside...it's unlikely for AMG to churn out an Uber diesel benz. Let Brabus do that i say.

Oh - that wasn't an argument... more a statement of fact...
wait, so i should take my sig off or my mods off? :?:
I dont want to start a big flame fest over this and couldnt care less if you drape that merc in neon and other mods that you feel the world needs to know about, but if you want to be an ass and talk about other members on this site being unreliable show us the all the stuff that he have posted that is unreliable....
But if you want to know most of that crap you have posted in your sig isnt considered mods its considered ricing out a perfectly fine merc......
Ok - what is the world coming to --- I am finding myself agreeing with the Euro-boys these days... ;) :P

I see useless getting a V10 or a V12 engine feeded by the diesel......but the market demands, and there are many ignorant people who think that a common rail diesel engine is a miracle because the car is as quick as the equivalent of petrol, and that its consumption is at least 2 or 3 litres less per 100 kilometer milleage.....and there are a lot of people who buy straight a diesel car although the do 5000 kilometres per year............and they think that buying a V12 diesel engine in a big saloon car are going to save a lot of money instead of purchasing a petrol car........where my question is......why to buy as much as 90000€ for a diesel car if they want to find some economy.......

You are an idiot, please try to shut the fuck up. It has become an issue where you continue babling away your shallowness. Gather facts and do a little research, actually get educated on the subject so your opinions acquire some value. That goes to all of you guys who think you petrol base engines are gonna be around for much longer.

Lets make a explanation here so yall begin to understand:
1- In somewhat like 15 years, no more petrol;
2- We will have to mass produce biodiesel and liquid hydrogen;
3- A rotary engine outperform any piston engine of same CC;
4- A turbo lags. To avoid this you need a ALS;
5- A Supercharger weights the same as the 2 above mentioned but uses less moving parts;
6- Biodiesel pollutes 80% less;
7- Liquid Hydrogen combustion residue is steam;
8- A engine life is reduced by 90% because of dried start up;
9- You can add a pressure pump to avoid the oil "going down";
10- A rotary engine revs more;
We have the technology, the knowledge, even the $. So why are these not comon nowadays? Part economy, part stupidity but mostly lack of education.

What is wrong with a large, fast, and still economic car?
Look 20 years back in time. Then there were no small cars with diesel engines. Diesel engines were only found in large heavy cars with a need for loads of power/torque. Now that the diesel engines are more quiet, it is time to put them into luxury sedans as well.
